We had a short but fantastic stay as this beautiful home. Eric and Piko and the whole crew took great care of us to make sure we had everything we needed. The communication was great all around. Piko set us up with chef Jose Piñar who turned out to be one of the highlights of our vacation. His food was of course delicious but beyond that he was so flexible - making separate meals for the kids, arranging for a special birthday cake to help us celebrate a birthday, made us an adult beverage as a last minute request and was a total pleasure work with and our kids loved him! Highly recommended his services!! The home was very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. You won’t regret staying at this house!

Communication with Eric to book property smooth and efficient and intros to all travel services turned out impeccable - from airport travel to day trips to Chefs. Casa Carvajal was everything described and so much more! The photos don't do it justice as the view out back is stunning! We spent every morning having coffee on the patio and every afternoon have cocktails in the infinity pool soaking up the view! Eric the owner was a delight to work with and answered all my questions promptly. And Piko Travel handled and booked all our tours for us. He made suggestions and did a fabulous job! Everyone of his drivers were on time and so very courteous. Odon is the gardener and was happy to get whatever we needed at the grocery. And Melisa prepared the best Costa Rican breakfast with the food Odon purchased for us. We were so spoiled and felt like royalty! All my friends now want to go after seeing my photos on Facebook. The house and location was beautiful. This was our second time staying at this house. The first since it’s been remodeled. I love the layout of both house and property. The staff, Melissa and Odon were both very helpful and kept the place looking great! Eric was great at communicating with us. We spent a lot of time in the pool. How could you not, with that amazing view. Can’t wait to stay at the house again.

Our family experienced a once in a lifetime vacation at Casa Caraval. From the monkeys that visited, the amazing view, to the groundskeeper and Melissa the maid, we loved every second of it. Our group ranged from ages 6-73, and everyone hated to leave to go home. I say once in a lifetime, but I have a feeling we will be back sooner rather than later!!

This property is amazing. It is situated on top of a mountain looking out over the ocean. The views are breathtaking. Waking up every morning to this scenery is an unbelievable experience. The service is also outstanding. We had breakfast cooked for us every morning by our housekeeper. She was very sweet and a wonderful chef. We also had great service by the groundskeeper who showed up every day to water their amazing garden and help us with anything we needed. There are tropical plants everywhere including inside the home. It felt so refreshing. The owner was readily available for any and all questions. He even gave us recommendations for activities. The house is very open and the pool is fabulous. We had a great stay here.

We had an amazing time relaxing in a very comfortable home away from home…views for days…and easy access to activities, restaurants & shopping. The on site daily staff to clean, make breakfast and ensure everything was in proper order was a special extra touch. We’ll be back for sure and recommend to other friends and family!

We recently came back from our week long stay at Casa Carvajal and it was truly spectacular. We had two families of four with children ranging from 7-13, and in conjunction of using Piko Travel for all of our activity needs, everything was fantastic. All of the previous reviews were the reason we decided to book the house and we were not disappointed. The only thing I wish is that the main part of the house was air conditioned or somehow could get more air moving through it. Most evenings it was warm unless one of the thunderstorms came and cooled off the area. The bedrooms were easy to adjust the temperature for personal comfort however,so we sleep great every night. That being said we would not hesitate to stay at this property again and you should not hestitate to book you stay!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we can now call it our favorite destination ever. Much of this is because of this incredibly beautiful property. The pictures do not do it justice as it is literally breathe-taking in person. We spent hours in the infinity pool, just staring out at the beautiful horizon. The communication by the owner was the best that I have experienced. Melissa, the housekeeper, and Odom, the groundskeeper, take such good care of the guests and truly are the difference-makers. I will be staying at this same property when I return to Costa Rica. Thank you for being such a gracious host!

The house is awesome and the views are amazing.

The house was nicer than the photos and lived better than we had hoped. Tons of wildlife every day. We spent most of our time in the pool and patio. The grill was awesome and the view is unforgettable. Odin the groundskeeper was great and Melissa kept the house perfect and made great breakfast. The fishing was slow but the atv tour and zip lines were awesome. Lemon Zest was the best restaurant in Costa Rica. I must give special thanks to Piko of PikoTravel dott com for all his help. He arranged everything from airport transportation to atv tours and beach horseback riding to massages and private chefs. This trip would not have been possible without Piko! Chef Jose and his wife chef Jesse made private dinners that would rival the best restaurants in the USA. We can’t wait to come back. Pura Vida

This home was great. It’s in a secure and quiet gated community so we never had to worry about uninvited guests. Location is great; near the beach and a supermarket. The view is so addicting it was hard to leave to go to activities. Complete with a couple Iguanas that hang around and live in the roof. The grounds/maintenance guy and the woman (Melissa) were awesome. Melissa is a fantastic cook and was willing to cook whatever we provided for breakfast. The kids loved the authentic Costa Rican breakfast and they are a typical hard to please bunch of teenagers and young adults. We debated for a bit over whether to our own way or go to an all-inclusive resort; we chose to go on our own and chose our own activities. We are so glad we did as most security concerns were had were inflated. Costa Rica is a beautiful place and this home is definitely worth the short visit. Plenty of room for our party and we never felt like we were on top of each other.

We had an amazing time in Casa Carvahal. The property is beautiful and the views stunning. House was well equipped. Private Chef Jose was great. Host was well organized and informative. Would highly recommend.

We had an amazing time at Casa Carvajal. the views were unbelievable. the house was great, large kitchen, great pool, outdoor areas to hang out and relax. there were 10 of us and we all had plenty of room. we loved to have our coffee every morning outside and watch the scarlett macaws fly by. the wild life in Costa Rica was really amazing. Melissa and Odon were great! Melissa cooked up a delicious breakfast and cleaned up the kitchen everyday. she made our beds and tidied up the rooms as well. the house came with all the necessities you would need. having the laundry room was awesome as well. we did the intense walk to the golf course and back a few times. it was a great workout and we saw monkeys in the trees which was very cool. i thought the location of the property was great as well. 1 1/2 hours from the airport, 1 1/2 hours to Manuel Antonio. We used Piko Travel to arrange a few excursions and a chef that came and cooked for us. they were awesome and would highly recommend. Thanks Erik for letting us use your house for our vacation. we had an awesome time!

Group of 8 of us went to CoastRica and this house was amazing! The house looks just like the photos, clean, lots of space, very nice home. The pool was great, the hot tub we did have to adjust to make it warmer than the pool. Oden is the groundskeeper and he is very nice the grounds are secluded and has a great view of the ocean. Melissa is at the house every morning and she is fabulouse!! If you buy groceries she will cook light breakfast and lunches for you, brew coffee, she tidies up, Just amazing help!! PikoTravel is awesome and always on top of making your stay the best. Piko & Lindsay are great to work with. If you need anything they will make it happen for you, very responsive with text message, will get groceries for you and have them delivered, line up excursions, transportation, daily chefs, etc. Jessibella was a great Chef for us, she prepared fabulous meals, helped make birthday celebrations extra special w/decorations, individual desserts, signature drink. She would go above and beyond. If you wanted anything specific she would make it, or you could have her create her own menu.

This property was so amazing! The house and property was beautiful and maintained daily. Melissa and Odon were both super helpful. It was so relaxing to get up and have breakfast and coffee made. The dishes were cleaned up, all the clothes washed and beds made. The Los Suenos community was pristine. All around super enjoyable.

I booked the property for my wedding guests to stay. Everyone was happy with their stay and kept talking about the incredible view and how cozy the property was even though they spent lots of time out due to wedding activities. At the end of the day, they loved going back to the property and enjoyed everything the property offered. All the ladies and I got to do a yoga session one morning in the backyard with that magnificent view. The property just as described or even better. Eric the owner was easy to reach and communicate. We will definitely stay at the property again in near future.

Could not have asked for a better stay!! A group of 7 of us heard about this property through a friend who had stayed here a year prior! She had nothing but glowing reviews about the house, service etc. our experience was nothing short of what we had been told! The house was stunning and clean! Everyday the pool/ grounds were cleaned by Donald who was extremely friendly and hardworking! Melissa the house keeper kept the house in pristine condition and made us delicious breakfast in the morning! She is very kind! The property owner reached out with checkin/ out directions, recommendations and more! We had all our travel and excursions booked through Piko travel who went above and beyond for our group! Highly recommend staying here! Thank you thank you!!!!

Casa Carvajal provided us with everything we needed to make a four week stay amazing for our family and friends. Villa was very quiet, comfortable and well appointed. VRBO pictures do not do the views justice! Seeing the faces of our guests as they walked out to the back of the villa to see the incredible Pacific view was priceless! The property's housekeeper) and yard keeper provided us daily services which added to our overall experiences; daily breakfasts and house cleaning, patio / pool area was kept pristine every day. Our visit excursion / transportation needs were supported by Casa Carvajal's concierge service- Piko Travel. They did an outstanding job making sure we were taking care of at the highest level of service! We have been visiting Los Suenos for over 20 years and have stayed at many different properties. Casa Carvajal will now be our go to for future visits!

The house is beautiful, clean, and the pool and jacuzzi are perfect. Having Melissa every morning for breakfast and maintaining clean towels and cleaning kitchen is fabulous! Donal is wonderful, met us at the door, took everyone's luggage upstairs! He was there every day making sure everything was in order, starting and cleaning grill, keeping grounds immaculate! PikoTravel was amazing, they even arranged doctor to come to house to administer covid test to return to US. Went above and beyond! Who ever rents house needs to be aware the bedrooms are very well air-conditioned, but rest of house is not. This was not a problem for me, but some in our group were a little uncomfortable, but they acclimated by the time we left! We rented golf carts and we had a ball traveling up and down the beautiful hillsides! Side note two people per four person cart, the hills are steep, but worth it! We will be back, Eric Carvajal, thank you for the use of your beautiful home!

We stayed at this property for 5 nights in late November 2021. The property is amazing and the views are incredible. The photos on VRBO are very accurate, if anything, the views are better than reflected in the photos. The house is very spacious and the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, glasses, plates and everything necessary to cook at home. The landscaping is impeccable and Donal, the grounds keeper, arrives first thing every morning to sweep up any leaves that may have fallen overnight, clean the pool and hot tub, and ready the hammock and lounge chairs for the day. When we arrived he was waiting and carried our bags to our room. Melissa, the housekeeper/cook was wonderful, she kept the kitchen spotless, cooked us breakfast every morning, cleaned the bathrooms and made the beds daily. Both Melissa and Donal were both very friendly, kind and accommodating (if you do not speak Spanish, communication can be a little bit of an issue, but they are patient). The home is located within the gates of the Los Suenos resort, which made us feel extremely safe. The home, while it has neighbors, feels very private because of the lush landscaping and privacy hedges. A very enjoyable vacation can be had without ever leaving the home. But, there is so much to do and enjoy in the area, active travelers will want to venture out and enjoy the local activities such as hiking, waterfalls, ATV tours, monkey tours, rafting, zip lining, deep sea fishing, golf, swimming, etc. We used Piko, at Piko Travel for all of our tours -- he was absolutely great and goes over and above to make sure you have a good time. Piko was recommended by the homeowner and I understand he helps oversee the property. Piko speaks fluent English and Spanish and can help with any translation issues. One thing we truly appreciated about Costa Rica and even the Los Suenos resort area is that it does not feel touristy, it remains somewhat primitive, you will not see a McDonalds or other chain restaurants. If there was one thing I would change about the home, it would be the mattresses and bedding (which is a subjective opinion and others may appreciate a firm mattress), we found the mattresses too hard for our liking and the quality of the bedding could have been a little better. Overall, we highly recommend this home and would definitely stay there again!

The house is in a huge luxurious community with a Marriott hotel at the entrance. The view from the property is stunning and the house itself is very lavish. My only complaint is the rather hostile down lighting in the living room without a single floor lamp or table lamp by which to read. There is nothing cozy about this part of the house. You need to go to bed to read! The staff are lovely people and very helpful.

We spent a week at Casa Carvajal and didn’t want to leave. The house is more spectacular than the pictures show. Every morning started on the expansive deck with coffee and Melissa’s amazing breakfast watching the surf crash and a family of macaws fly by. The house was spacious with many areas for relaxing. A/C in every bedroom made sure everyone slept well after a day in the beautiful pool. If you are visiting Casa Carvajal, use Piko travel for any local needs. Lindsey was amazing to work with. She helped us plan an amazing week of massages, private chefs, ATV/Horseback riding and Tortuga trips. She even helped us get Covid tests for entry back into the States. She was an absolute pleasure to work with! We can’t wait to return!

Pros: View is as pictured and is phenomenal. Recently renovated master bath is very nice. Plenty of room for everyone to sit inside and out, and kitchen is well stocked for cooking and serving. Squawking macaws will fly outside the master bedroom around 5:30 or 6 am. (This can be a con for some; it was a pro for us.) Beautifully landscaped property and well laid out home. Groundskeeper, Donald, and housekeeper, Melissa, do a great job keeping the property in tip top shape, are very nice, help when you want them to but let you do your own thing otherwise. Jimmy T's prepared food service - which was found through Eric's recommendation to contact Piko Travel - was a total blessing as it saved us long drives on the windy road for dinner each evening. Cons: Advertised a hot tub, but the hot tub never gets hot and you have to request that Donald make it warm. Since he wants to turn it off before you go home, he'll make it warm and then turn it off so that you only have a little bit before warm goes to cold. This was a major disappointment for me. Advertised a private beach but was told two days before we arrived that guests are no longer permitted to access the private beach. Given that you are a 10 minute winding road drive from the not so great (no shade and rocky) beach in front of the Los Suenos hotel and much further drive from other public beaches, this was not a minor inconvenience. Advertised wifi but was told two days before we arrived that wifi is weak and in the process of being upgraded. The property is secluded. It's a 10 minute drive to the marina and a 15-20 minute drive to the grocery store and main road to Jaco. And that's if there is no a back up at the guard gate. Overall: Beautiful home for group or family that doesn't mind staying at the house most of the time
