G&Z Upcountry bed & breakfast was the perfect upcountry stay for us! Beautiful property with many things to do close by! Marsha and John are the epitome of the perfect hosts! We had fresh bread/pastry every morning. We were also greeted with a bowl of fresh fruit on the table and the freshest cut pineapple in the refrigerator. We did not do any cooking since we got hooked at the food truck selection just 10 minutes away, however, the kitchen is well stocked.
We were away from the crowded streets and coasts but all were just a short drive away. If you are looking for a place to come back and relax after a day of adventure this is the place!

We were welcomed by the hosts when we arrived and offered help with our luggage, got a brief tour of the premises where we would be staying, and were in contact daily with the host in regards to anything needed. The host brought us lemon and blueberry bread for breakfast one morning, and croissants with strawberry preserves the next morning. I highly recommend staying here based on John and Marsha’s hospitality, friendliness, cleanliness, and location. The property is absolutely stunning!

Located in the Upcountry area of Maui, near the community of Kula, this one bedroom apartment is in a beautiful location. The apartment is super clean, comfortable and with a well equipped kitchen. The hosts are wonderful and provide daily breakfast treats. The excellent Kula Bistro is close by and the Maui Winery is a few miles away. Its a delightful place to stay.

We absolutely loved being guests of John and Marsha. It had amazing access to Haleakala and was the perfect, cozy, quiet place we needed. Marsha and John’s place is perfect. We spent three days here as it is central to exploring the upcountry of Maui. Marsha has thought of everything to make you feel right at home. Coffee, juice, milk, fresh fruit and morning pastries is a wonderful touch. Property is beautiful and quiet. If you are staying upcountry I highly recommend the G & Z bed and breakfast.

The property was absolutely stunning, featuring a peaceful and incredibly beautiful garden and surroundings. The indoor amenities were even more elevated than those in our own home. In addition to the welcoming fresh fruit, milk, and juice, the hosts kindly provided delicious homemade baked goods every evening for our next day’s breakfast. They also thoughtfully provided a cooler, beach towels, and beach chairs for our use.
If your plans extend beyond spending a week on a resort's beach, this property's location is ideal for exploring the island and making the most of your stay in Maui. Our only regret is that we didn't spend more time in this lovely house.

Marsha and John were wonderful hosts. Their property is beautiful, and they go above and beyond to make the rental until homey, comfortable, and provide things that make day trips much easier. This had to be the cleanest vacation rental we've ever stayed in. A cooler and other helpful items were provided. Exceptionally comfortable bed and towels. Having laundry just outside the unit ended up being a plus as well.
The property is up on the Haleakala mountain, which is made very clear in the posting. This makes for wonderfully cool evenings exceptional for sleeping with the windows open. The drive up to the property is very easy though, and you can't go wrong with most views on the way. We loved staying outside the traditional, busier tourist areas. Highly recommended!

This little cottage was perfect for my husband and me. The weather is perfect in this area. We were hesitant to book due to no AC but I promise, it wasn't needed. If you want to get the true feel of Maui without all of the hustle and bustle, this is your place. Everything was within 15 minutes to an hours drive to see the entire island. All of the smaller towns all around have hidden gems as well. There were plenty of delicious restaurants and shopping very close. We were very close the the sunrise/sunset in Haleakala. The breakfast foods were delicious that the owners provided. You do sleep with the windows open and there was some road noise as well as roosters telling you good morning pretty early but it wasn't a problem for us at all and we are light sleepers. The place was one of the cleanest places we've rented and the owners were so friendly and helpful. Although they are next door, they give you plenty of privacy but are there for you if you need. This cottage has all you need for a short or long stay. We stayed 8 nights and loved every minute of our home away from home. You will not be disappointed in renting this place!

We really appreciated the pristine cleanliness and warm hospitality that Marsha and John offered so generously. We received nightly deliveries of baked goods and fruit for breakfast the next day, and the place was stocked full of more than we needed. We also thoroughly enjoyed the location, being more secluded and about equal distance to both Lahaina and Haleakala. The road to Hana was also easily doable in one day from this location. We would highly recommend to getaway at G&Z!

One of those rare times when the plase was better than the pictures! Marsha and John were amazing and respected our privacy. They provided pastries each day and the B and B was incredibly clean. We had everything, instructions on where to eat, soaps, all kitchen items, extra towels, an ice chest and even milk and juice! It was amazing and we wished we'd stayed longer! Hands down one of the best Vrbos we've stayed in!

A very comfortable apartment in a beautiful location in the foothills of Haleakala volcano at about 3,000 foot elevation. Easy drive to almost anywhere on the island. Owners are on site are are very cordial. We certainly will return here on our next trip to Maui.

I had a wonderful stay! The home is cozy, situated on a hill just so for good views and adequate feelings of privacy. Picking lemons was exciting and the goodies Marsha left for breakfast each evening were delicious!

Our short stay here was incredible. It was a clean and welcoming space. Marsha graciously showed us the ins and outs of the property as well as where to catch the best sunsets from, and gave us pastries each morning (and they were amazing!). This property exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless with beautiful views. Marsha and John were so friendly and helpful. Every morning, we enjoyed the delicious pastries Marsha brought us. We also appreciated that she made sure they did not contain nuts because of my husband's nut allergy. The location was great and a short drive to many other towns. Marsha also provided an extensive list of restaurant recommendations and gave us tips for doing the road to Hana. Since we were on a two week trip, having a washer and dryer to ourselves was also a big plus.

She was very responsive to all my inquiries and made attempts to accommodate my dietary needs (although not successful) but I was fine with it as I have the same issues myself! She was very attentive to our needs and privacy. I would definitely rent this place again and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place that has great views, is centrally located and well kept.

What a fantastic few days we had in upcountry! As much as we love the beaches and resort areas of Maui, this was a great way to experience a different part of the island and all of it’s beauty. John & Marsha’s spot was incredible—fantastic accommodations, beautiful grounds, and well-located. J& M were so friendly and welcoming and offered great insight about the area.
