Enjoyed our stay. Had one issue that was quickly taken care of.

We stayed here for our first family vacation, and liked it so much we are coming back next year with more family! The condo was very spacious and allowed for plenty of family activities. The location to the beach is unbeatable. The only con we had was the sliding patio door was very hard to open and shut, but it did not deter from our stay.

We are a fam of 6 that stayed for a week in the middle of summer. We have 4 kids, ages 5-15. We chose this location for a quiet vacation. We had a fabulous time! A couple of pointers: pack everything and plan meals well. The nearest regular grocery store is 30+ minutes away. While we love to shop local, the prices for every day items are steep. As for meals out, restaurants were incredibly busy with very long waits. We all enjoyed our trip and I measure the success by my husband’s statement of-easiest vacation ever!

Beach was fantastic! Never too busy even in the middle of summer! And if you walk down a bit you can be secluded- very nice for our busy, loud kids!

Cons
Listing should read 1 King bed, 3 twin beds, and 1 futon. There was no sleeper sofa as far as I could tell. One twin bed is set up as a daybed.
I definitely couldn’t view the ocean from the condo. The condo listing shouldn’t be ocean front. However, the facility itself is definitely ocean front.
Only the master bedroom is dark. There are no blackout shades in the other 2 sleeping areas. My kids were up with the sun.
Cleanliness was just ok. Extra bedding for the futon, blankets on the beds, and pillow covers weren’t clean so we washed them. Couch could def use a vacuum. However counters, surfaces, bathrooms, and fridge were sparkly clean!

It seemed difficult to find a place to stay this summer on the gulf coast so we took a chance on this little place, and it was great! The condo served its purpose, was priced right, the sand was white, and the water was fantastic! I can definitely see us coming back!

this condo was as described. the only issues we had was with the ac, fridge (took hours to cool when we initially got there) and the silverwares drawer track breaking. but over all it was great! the beach access made up for all of the small things. Kids and us enjoyed every moment! thank you for the memories!

Closer to beach than thought and nice beach area. Kids enjoyed pool n evenings after day at beach. Rinse off area great for limiting sand carried into condo. Condo was perfect for week would consider a hand mixer and waffle iron added. Master bath toilet ran even after giggling handle. All and All would definitely stay again.

I had family. In two of the other units and it was a great time together.

We had a wonderful vacation! The only suggestion I have is to update the master bath toilet. The condo was great and fully furnished!

Upstairs neighbors really loud walking sounded like coming through the ceiling

The property was ok. It wasn’t extremely clean and honestly you can hear EVERYTHING that your neighbors are doing. It’s not for a quiet, sleep-in vacation.

We (family of 5) absolutely loved our week at B-9!!! It was so much better than described and the beach is only a short walk away. The house smelled wonderful and it was so clean! Lovely appliances and very comfortable furniture. We could not have been happier!!!

The condo was spacious and nicely decorated. The management was helpful on our first day when we requested an extra key. It arrived within an hour. The pool was a nice perk and the woman who seemed to be the Surf Club caretaker (Denise) was very helpful and informative.

If you are looking for a low-key, quiet destination then this is your place. The Surf Club has a pool or you can walk just a bit farther to the beach. As recommended, bring your chairs (any beach activities) that the kids want to play with. Hit the store beforehand and you can make burgers on the charcoal drill provided. Or you can go down the road to Skinner's for a surf/turf style take-out dinner. You can walk the beach and collect shells, you can see sand crabs and aquatic birds. We even saw dolphins. Our stay was just what we wanted- sun, fun, & relaxing!

Everything was perfect! The home was so comfortable with plenty of space for my four kiddos to spread out, they LOVED the beach being so close, uncrowded and private! We had the best vacation here! Will look to return!

The house is really comfortable an excellent located to go to the beach. The beach gives spectacular sunrise and sunsets and even sometimes dolphins. Great for taking good walks!

Condo is as the pictures show. Nice, clean and towels and some toiletries provided. Quiet area, quick walk to beach and nice pool. A few blocks to the bike path that runs the entire island. I'd highly recommend for families.

The location is very nice and private. The plumbing needs some updates (doesn't really bother me but I'm not paying the water bill), the stove as mentioned in many other reviews needs help, could be cleaner, but for the most part it was nice! The furniture is comfy and the king bed too. Neighbors left a little to be desired, but it could have been worse. Beautiful beach! Lived there for 4/5 days we were there.

We had a great time. They need to provide forks and a spatula. All other kitchen items were pretty well stocked.

This was a really nice place to stay. It was quiet, with private access to the beach. The only thing we were concerned about was the stove/oven. This has to be an original appliance put in the condo when they were built in the 1970s. Burners were lopsided and hard to regulate. Really antiquated oven "clock/timer" is a box on top of the stove. Other than the stove/oven, this place was GREAT!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived at the rental, it was pitch dark and no floods lights worked outside the unit. One of our party almost broke her neck with a fall. Upon entering the unit, the air conditioning was not working either. It was 87 degrees inside the unit! After calling 4 emergency names on the paperwork for 4 hours, around 11:30 pm, we were finally offered a room for the night at a local motel. Around noon the next day, the air people show up to say this would need a major repair. The rental company stated that the air worked fine the day before. The manager on duty who lives on the complex would not even acknowledge our complaints as she stated we had to go through the rental company and could not help us! We were offered a better place to stay for our remaining two nights, but it was a house that allowed previous renters dogs to stay so our very allergic friends were yet again miserable. We tried our best to make it work with extreme heat and dog hair, but what should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a nightmare experience. I guess be careful and research where you stay and who you rent from.

Reviewer Comments: Due to hurricane Florence we chose to go to Dauphin Island for a mini-girls get away. Island Management Resort was great during and after the reservation process. Very helpful and had great customer service. When we arrived to the property we had an issue with the AC and they ensured it was fixed that day. I would highly recommend renting through Island Resort Management, but I would not recommend staying at Surf Club Unit B-9. The property Manager was very nice and helpful, but I was displeased with how the property in general was very outdated including the room. It was great for a short weekend stay, but I would not choose it for a long week. The room appeared clean at first glance. Bathrooms and beds were great, but it was very dusty. Seeing thick dust on lamp shades and furniture made me wonder if they did a deep clean of the whole unit. The location also wasn't the best. It is located on the East end of the island. I would recommend staying on the west end. Our group ventured down to the public beach access and it was much more breathtaking compared to the east end. Overall, our trip was very successful! No major mishaps. We enjoyed Dauphin Island, and would like to return one day for another mini - vacation.
