Space was ideal for our family of ten. Our 3 kids and their families had plenty of space and comfortable accommodations. Beautiful main balcony and individual balconies gave quite space for all. The kitchen was very well stocked with necessaries for eating in. Ample beach chairs for all to sit at the beach. Thanks for sharing such a lovely place.

We had a wonderful stay with family! The house was perfect for a large group! Beautiful property, clean and just as described. Host was responsive and helpful. Our only regret is not staying longer! We are looking forward to staying again in the future!

We planned an end of summer long weekend trip with a couple family friends, so there were a group of kids 2-6yo and the house was perfect with the kid room on the top floor. All the adults had their own space and bathrooms, and the kitchen, dining, and living space on the top floor were roomy. We enjoyed having a big dining room table and that we could all comfortably dine together. The location is great with private beach access and close to grocery store.
I would recommend this house to anybody but especially families.

We ended up with 8 family members. Our grandson em celebrated his 21st Birthday on the trip, a very memorable beach house birthday! We had a great experience. Much fun as we made great memories!!

Stayed at the Seahorse for my husband's big 6-0 birthday. All of our friends and family came and everyone had a lovely time. The Salty Seahorse is so spacious and comfortable. The pictures on the website really do accurately show the place. The kitchen is fully outfitted and designed for visiting and hanging out in the kitchen. The linens are very nice. Connected my computer to the large screen in the living room with no problem. Host was very responsive and texted me back quickly when I had a question. I would highly recommend this place. We all talked about going back again next year!

You can't find a better location!! Right on the beach. The ocean view is amazing.
The house was super clean and well stocked to get us started. I placed an online order ahead of time which we picked up before we went to the house so we settled in right away.
Bedrooms are perfect size, with extra pillows and blankets if needed.
Kitchen has a large assortment for cooking and plenty of dishes. We enjoyed the nice big dining table so we could all eat together.
We would definitely rent this house again. Owners were great to work with.

When we first walked in (after you walk up the 5 flight of stairs to get in) we immediately noticed the floor was dirty. If you walked barefoot in the house your feet were discolored and had a ton of filth on them. The carpet on the stairs was as stained as it wasn't. 95% of the dishes were dirty with caked on stuff on them. 2 of the showers had hair all in them and slime/sludge on the curtain liner (which cost $1-2 at Big Lots to replace if you don't want to clean). I also killed 2 roaches in the King bedroom.
Additionally the "queen" beds were full size. Our family that stayed in these rooms upstairs all have queens at home and these were noticeably smaller than a queen. Additionally the beds were mostly uncomfortable. The King has half the bed that sinks in like broken springs.
There is also no linen service included but is included in the "Cleaning fee" Which is laughable because this was the most dirty rental I have ever stayed in. The towels that were provided looked incredibly old and very used. Some had major stains. They also all smelled SO Bad. We tried washing them and adding fabric softener, but they still stink. These all need to be replaced. Again, you can get cheap decent towels from target for $3. There also weren't enough towels. Providing 1 towel max per person, is never enough for a 4 day stay or even in general.
Then there was the toilet paper situation. Not one bathroom had an extra roll in it and all the rolls that were on the holder were 1/4 - 1/2 full. We had to go buy some and probably left more toilet paper there than we got. Other supply issues: a bar area but no cork screw, only about 2 rolls of paper towels, and only 2 extra trash bags.
The elevator is tiny and half our party wouldn't fit in there without crouching, let alone with luggage. The elevator also would not go down to the outside first floor (maybe you had to be in it to do that, but again, we couldn't transport any items which is the WHOLE point for us). The elevator would go between the living floors (which again, you have to walk up 5 flights to get to the first living floor).
There are also foundation issues with this house. It would dramatically sway (almost knocked me out of bed one night). While the house is on stilts, if properly done and reinforced, it should not sway.
Positives: Great view, nice patios, open living area.
But that's it, not worth your money if you want clean and appropriately supplied Would never stay here again.

BEST VACATION and VRBO EVER!
The Salty Seahorse was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! It was even better than the pictures showed! It was incredibly roomy, and the way Kate McCormick has it decorated, truly made us feel like we were in an ocean paradise! My family and I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again! The closeness of the ocean and the BREATHTAKING view from inside was just like Heaven! Check-in process was as easy as could be - and all the information we needed was neatly placed in a binder on the kitchen counter. The boardwalk was within walking distance - and our stay was just FANTASTIC!! Thank you SO MUCH to the McCormick Family for sharing their piece of Heaven with us - we were so honored to be there! We would recommend this place 100%!

Spectacular spot with breathtaking views!
We absolutely loved staying here. It wasn't long before my husband was daydreaming about buying the place, ha!! Plenty of space, well stocked kitchen, and right on the beach. Plus walking distance to the boardwalk. You honestly can't beat it.

Wonderful Birthday weekend getaway
We had a great time the Salty Seahorse location! The house is beautiful, clean and exactly as pictured online. It has a private walkway directly to the beach which was so convenient for us and our guests to bring down chairs, food and games.
There is an elevator which made it so easy to bring up all of our heavy luggage and groceries.
It is a bit of a walk to dinner, bars and the main touristy stuff but we enjoyed the walks. There is a small convenience store that sold ice just a few houses down which was perfect.
Door dash is a thing but Uber is not! Don’t plan on getting an Uber. I heard the Lyft app is more useful but we didn’t try.
I would suggest bringing your own chairs/umbrellas as the stuff that was at the house was very well used and some of it was broken. Luckily a friend brought a couple extra chairs just in case and they came in handy!
The pool that was listed online was definitely a plus for us when booking this property. We were notified after booking that we wouldn’t have access to it. Not sure what the reason was but for us, just using the beach worked out fine!
Overall, we had a wonderful time and will definitely book again in the future. Highly recommend!!!!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The home was very clean and plenty of extra's were available! Instructions were very easy to follow and we will definitely add this to our stay list!

Beautifully laid out and designed! Extras were great: chairs, boogie boards, elevator, tons of seating. Only 6 of us this time, but we hope to come back again and again! Just a lovely, tranquil, oceanfront escape.

Salty Seahorse
The Salty Seahorse is a beautiful property, well furnished and well stocked for everything you will need during your stay----plenty of linens, dishes (especially coffee cups) beach chairs, a great big table to seat the whole family, large washer and dryer and much more!! The view of the ocean is spectacular with easy access. It is truly a fabulous property for a family gathering and we hope to use it again!!

Absolutely perfect!!!
This house is amazing! Once we figured out how to work the elevator it was smooth riding from there. Our grandparents really appreciated that feature! The views are to die for and the house is just gorgeous!!! Highly recommend!!!!

Excellent beachfront property
My family & I enjoy visiting Carolina Beach every July. This year we included a few more family members so we needed a larger condo. There was plenty of room in this updated 2-level unit. The views off of the east-facing balconies were breathtaking. The master suite was spacious and away from the hustle and bustle which worked wonderfully for our infant. The elevator was a game changer; made having a 3rd floor unit so much easier! Kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfy. We would definitely book again!!

Perfect location amazing views stunning property
The place is outstanding in every way, even better in person then the pictures. The layout with open and big gathering spaces is perfect for large groups, massive deck with views and lots of seats, more private secluded rooms on the second floor which is great and the whole house was beautifully decorated. We made some really great memories here!

Wonderful Time!!!
We had a great time here! The unit was very clean and very spacious. We had 8 adults and 3 children and had more than enough room. Kate was very helpful during the booking process and responded quickly to all of my questions! We had a small issue with the cable in the unit, but Kate was very quick in getting the issue resolved. I would definitely recommend the Salty Seahorse and would book this unit again!!!

Excellent beach house
Great weekend at a prime location. House was great for large family gathering. Kids room and lots of private bathrooms. Kitchen well stocked. Beautiful views of the ocean. Pool access next door was nice (pool could be a bit cleaner but is part of condo). AC was off when arrived, manager was very quick to respond and help. Easy breaker fix and was cool very quickly. Nice area to walk in morning. Great location for Carolina beach, highly recommend.

Hurricane vacation
Other than experiencing a cat1 hurricane our second night the weather was great. Lost electric that night but was back on 7:30a. so nothing lost. Balcony on 3rd floor is amazing. I was disappointed that original listing said nothing about it being a duplex until we got instructions to park.

Prime location!
Location was everything! House was located right on the ocean which was amazing with five kids in tow! There were public access points nearby on the beach in both directions, but it was never busy where we were, which was so nice given the pandemic we're in! The house was decorated beautifully! It was perfect in size for our party of 8 with plenty of space to stretch out and be comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for a weeks worth of home cooked meals. Mini fridge in the living room was a wonderful surprise! The deck offered amazing views and had plenty of seating for us all to be out there together. The outside closet was well stocked with beach chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards for the kids. Kathleen was very responsive with my messages throughout the week. We left something behind and she was quick to get it in the mail to us, which was very much appreciated.
With that being said, there are definitely some things that could be improved upon. The WiFi was awful. The signal on the third floor worked sometimes but next to no service downstairs. Given the situation we're in now, with everyone working remote on conference/zoom calls, etc., it was near impossible to keep a connection all week. The beds were awful - very uncomfortable and squeaky! The carpet on the second level and all the way up the stairs was full of stains as was the living room furniture. We had issues with ants all week in the kitchen and the master bath. I notified Kathleen on Monday and the pest person didn't arrive to treat until Friday afternoon. The realtor brought over some ant treatments to put down in the meantime which was helpful. Kathleen was very apologetic and even sent over an ice cream delivery which we all enjoyed. None of these things were a deal breaker and we very much enjoyed our week at the Salty Seahorse, however, when you pay as much as we did for a peak week, none of these things should have been an issue.

Great getaway
The property walks right out onto the beach. The house was perfect for our two families, plenty of room inside and balcony space. The kitchen was well stocked, the beach accessories were plentiful and the views were amazing. The owner always responded very quickly. We would all stay here again without hesitation.

The Perfect Week at Carolina Beach
Everything about the house and the location was clean, comfortable, and 100% accurate to what was advertised. The house is perfectly located with private access to the beach and a short walk or a 5- to 10-min drive to nearly anything you might need. As far as food recommendations, I can't say enough good things about the convenience and quality of the food we brought back from the Cape Fear Boil Company and steamed at the house one night. We loved every minute of our stay and look forward to making our way back to the house in the future!

Poor Communication and Condition
The house was very nice. But, we had a lot of problems with communication with the owner, condition of the property and a working elevator.
My father-in-law has ALS and can not move. He had a power wheelchair. This is the main reason why we booked this house.
2 weeks before our trip the hurricane passed. I emailed the owner to make sure everything was OK and I did not get a response. A few days before we called the "office" number she gave us. I believe it is a law office and they also help with the rental. We asked them if the elevator was working because we definitely needed it for our trip. We also asked if everything was OK with the house. They said the elevator was just checked and it is working and the house was just cleaned for our arrival.
There were 8 of us coming from Ohio. My mother-in-law and father-in-law had to drive because of his special wheelchair. They got to the house 20 minutes before the rest of us. She followed the instructions the owner gave us to use the elevator. She got in the elevator to test it before she got in it with my father-in-law. The elevator started to work and went up the the third floor. When she came back down to the first floor the door would not open and she was stuck in the elevator. She called the owner ASAP and the owner would not answer her phone. She called the office line and the office could not help. She had to call 911 to get her out of the elevator.
The office made us handle getting the elevator repair people out they recommend. We had to wait over an hour for them to come "fix" it enough for my father-in-law to get in the house. We asked them if they looked at it before we came and they said no. For 20 minutes my mother-in-law was stuck in the elevator and my father-in-law stuck in the van because no one really checked the elevator.
We had to stay at the house the whole next day to wait until the elevator people came back to really fix it and replace a button. So, we were stuck in the house because we did not want to risk my father-in-law getting stuck.
So, 2.5 days and several messages with the owner and no call back. Not even one with concern about my mother-in-law and if she was OK.
The house was very dirty because of the hurricane. There was a lot of sand and dead bugs in the house. All of the patio furniture was inside in the family room and bedrooms. We had to clean and put put the furniture. No one cleaned before we got there.
Owner never called once to check on us.

Great stay but with reservations
Outstanding location, view, size and overall quality. They need a new cleaning crew as we spent an hour and a half getting it in acceptable shape. The master bedroom shower was broken!, and after three days and two trips by the handyman, who replaced a ten cent plastic piece, it was fixed. The kitchen knives were hopelessly dull and had to be sharpened to be safe to use. I may be a fussy man but at the daily cost of the condo, I expect the accommodation to be in tip top shape when I arrive.

We loved staying in your oceanfront home! The house was very spacious and accommodating for our large group!. The elevator was was a great bonus to help with carrying items up the stairs. There was plenty of restaurants and other places close enough to walk! Highly recommend!

Great beach house for a group
Plenty of room. Two sofas are sleepers also. Wonderful views from the big deck. Large kitchen with lots of counter space and cabinets. We would definitely stay there again.

A True Gem at Carolina Beach!
We deeply enjoyed the use of the Salty Seahorse while down for our daughter's graduation from UNCW. It was the perfect blend of casual elegance and location. Beautiful views from every room. Highly recommend!!!

Mixed Review
The house and view were terrific. Our only negatives were that the owner should have made it clear up front that towels and sheets were not included. Also, the the house sleeps 15, but four of those spots were in the living room, so unusable for our family situation.
