The home was lovely. Very cute and cozy beach vibes. The pictures don’t do it justice. The walk to the beach was at most 5 mins and it’s just a straight shot off a walk way. Super easy! The communication was fantastic there were notes and instructions for appliances all around the house. It was just what we needed for an easy little get away no hassle. And super beach friendly for my dog too! Also my father is vision impaired and it was very easy for him to navigate the lay out of the house.

Just about a block away from the beach in a quiet neighborhood and some excellent restaurants a short drive away. Pet friendly. Definitely will save this listing for my next visit to the OBX

We stayed here for a week. Absolutely adorable house! It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach. Nice size deck for sitting, really liked the outside shower for after the beach! We really liked this place! All the bad reviews I don’t understand it was perfect for our family of 6 and our dog!

We had a great and comfortable stay with friends. The kitchen was well supplied, multiple beds, nice big outdoor deck to eat dinner and location was a 5 minute walk to the beach. It was everything we needed and loved the close location to local restaurants.

After the initial shock of its appearance, (needs painting) the Home turned out to be in excellent condition. Loved not having to bring anything but ourselves. Very comfortable and well equipped. Hope to visit again.

Had a wonderful weekend stay at the cottage, it was just a short walk to the beach and a short drive into town. I always love coming to duck and this place did not disappoint! Would stay here again.

Like a home away from home. 4-bedrooms, and open cozy family/kitchen area. Huge usable deck and under deck areas. Lots of pluses: toys/books for the kids, webber grill, stuff for the beach, etc. Another plus, the lot is semi-circled by empty lot/open space for an extra semi private stay. Thank you! Can't wait to go again.

Gentle Breezes is a comfortable cottage with an old beachy feel to it. My mom and I really enjoyed staying here. The house has everything that you need and is within walking distance to the beach and activities in Duck. I do want to point out that my mom is in her 70's so the stairs and walking were tough, but do-able. Just something to keep in mind. I've already suggested this home to other friends.

My family (3 young children and my parents) and I choose this property based on the reviews and pictures so we feel an honest review is necessary. This location is fantastic. The beach is easily accessible and the town of Duck is just as easy to get to. Tip - Do a big grocery run at Publix in Kill Devil Hills or Harris Teeter in Corolla as the convenience stores in Duck don’t have a lot and it takes a while to get to the grocery stores. Harris Teeter was the nicer store. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end. This property is nothing like it was described. It goes well past dated and is in complete disrepair. Outside, the paint on the house and deck was peeling, the windows all have broken seals, there is barely any outdoor seating (most of it was broken), the nails are rusted and sticking up all over the deck, and the screen for the sliding door is missing. Inside, there are stains all over the carpet in every room, the furniture is so old you feel like you are sitting on rails (outdoor furniture for couches and the cushions haven’t been replaced), there was chips and old food that we cleaned out of the oven and cabinets, mold is in the bathrooms and kitchen, and the amount of dust is disgusting. You could see the dust on the popcorn ceilings. Several pieces of indoor furniture was also broken. The closets had so much in them, there was no where to unpack. The beds had no linens on them and the linens are all mislabeled, so it took a while to figure out what sheets go on which bed. To top it all off, we found cockroaches! Tip - Knock on the cabinet doors before opening them. We immediately reached out to the owners who denied the place was in such disrepair and claimed their cleaning person was “excellent”. They told us we could stay somewhere else but unfortunately everything was booked. After we left, the owners then emailed me and apologized. Their new cleaning person showed them the stains in the carpet. They claimed they would refund us some of the monies we paid. It has been two weeks since that email and we have yet to receive anything. In all honesty, we are very disappointed in all the lies. We made the best of this vacation. Stayed away from the house as much as possible. I couldn’t have my baby crawling on those floors. If you can find another house (there are tons) in this location, I would recommend staying in this neighborhood in Duck. Avoid this house and if you can change your reservation, do it.

My family of 5 adults and 2 dogs vacationed comfortably here for a week. Location is perfect. Just a few minute walk to the beach in one direction and to stores, groceries and restaurants in the other direction. The weather was just so so, but everyone had plenty of room to relax while we waited out the rain. We would definitely recommend Gentle Breezes.

We enjoyed our week in Duck. The house was well furnished with all the kitchen amenities. We enjoyed a short easy walk to the beach and the shops in Duck. The traffic was pretty bad so we definitely appreciated being able to walk to some really great restaurants.

The house was a true gem. Clean and comfortable and enough space for our family to enjoy the Outer Banks. Had anything we could possibly need for our use. Communication was perfect and really easy to check in and out. Easy walk to the boardwalk and we could see the beach entry from the driveway. Thanks for a perfect stay. We'd love to return. <3

Overall not bad, as said in other reviews, house needs some updates. Check in process didnt go as planned lockbox code was changed and wasnt relayed til an hour after check in was supposed to be; the washing machine also was inoperable. Owner offered a little later check out, but we ultimately decided to leave a day early. Location is nice.

The house is in a perfect location in Duck. You can walk or bike to the waterfront shops and restaurants. It is also just a short walk to the beach. The house is simple, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked. The deck is nice and you can hear the ocean from it-so relaxing! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had an awesome stay at the cottage in the heart of Duck. Great location and super easy to rent.

Love Duck!! Duck is beautiful! The property was so close to the beach. We could bbq and spend time on the deck. It was lovely.

Had a really good time. A few days were really cold & windy but didn’t stop us from getting out and doing some walking on the beach, site seeing, & shopping. Really enjoyed the Duck boardwalk and the beautiful sunrises. The cottage had about any thing you would need for fixing some of our meals. Grocery store and places of interest not far away. Also enjoyed cooking on the grill one night. Would stay here again, if we get the chance.

This is a great property and the location is beyond perfect! Quick walk to the beach - nice and easy walk to the shops and restaurants! House had everything we needed. Can’t wait to go back!!

We loved the place, spent the weekend with our dogs. Extremely clean, great location convenient walk to the beach. Private back deck with wooded area behind house so really quiet and private. Well stocked house , comfortable and authentic . Thanks for a great stay !

Location is amazing to downtown Duck and Beach

We had our small family of 3 and the grandparents stay here for an extended weekend getaway. The house had all the accommodations we could ask for which made cooking easy! It rained most of the weekend, but the location was perfect for short cold, wet walks to check the beach and the shops.

Nice open kitchen good for smaller family gatherings. plenty of parking for 3-4 vehicles. Great that they allow pets too.

Everything was great. No problem at all. I look forward to going back and staying. I really would love to have a place down there. Duck is a amazing place. Everything was in walking distance.
