The sound of the creek rapids from the porch is literally perfection. It is a very nice cabin! Well kept and clean. Its the perfect place to unplug, relax and hike, while also being just 15-20 minutes from loads of restaurants and things to do in Bristol.
The driveway up to the cabin is pretty steep with a sharp turn - an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle would definitely be helpful (our rental 12 passenger van struggled).
Don, the owner, was very responsive too!

Unfortunately, it poured rain our whole weekend. The trails called to us and I am certain they are beautiful. We were quite content inside the lovely cabin as all our needs were met!

The cabin is beautiful. Love the location not to far or close to the city of Bristol. Great place to disconnect and renew. Came during the winter, can't imagine how beautiful it must be during the spring and summer.

We all loved our stay. Everything was extremely clean, neat and organized. The owner answered all of our questions immediately. Great communication. This cabin is absolutely beautiful, so relaxing to sit on the porch and listen to the water sounds below. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a place with serene and astonishing views. We will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. So peaceful to sit on the spacious porch and listen to the water rushing by. A very nice and unexpected surprise to find a welcome basket with snacks and coffee...especially since I forgot to bring my coffee. I had to reach out to them while there with a question and the response was quick. You will not be disappointed renting this cabin. We had a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed at this property for a long weekend. It is a beautiful and secluded area.

It was our 1st trip Bristol for the NASCAR races and this fit the bill for a great place to stay. We could stretch out and relax between races. The accommodations were super and the host was very friendly and helpful.

This property is in a beautiful setting. I loved sitting on the porch and hearing the water. The house was clean and nice. When we stay in vacation spots like this we respect that it is other people’s house and I do realize not everyone does. I found it unwelcoming with all the signs of what not to do and signs on the locked cabinets that they are not for guests. Also the smell of moth balls is really strong. As the week went on it aired out and was fine. Chemicals that mothballs are made of are toxic to people, especially if anyone has respiratory problems. I understand that there are a lot of mothers around due to the exterior light, but there has to be a better way to decrease moth damage.

This was a great cabin to stay in, we spent time sitting on the large porch and enjoying the cool air and listening to the flowing creek. It was so peaceful. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to take a trip to the mountains that is not so commercialized.

Good, but there was a very strong smell of mothballs upstairs and downstairs.
I have a longbed truck which was almost impossible to navigate the switchback on the driveway.
Abrams Falls was awesome but was a trecherous hike.
Everything else was great!

Everything about the cabin itself is excellent: functional and provisioned kitchen, comfortable living rooms and bedrooms, all very clean, and a fantastic front porch for listening to the running water. The welcome basket and thorough information about the cabin and the surrounding area are welcoming and very helpful. I wish all VRBO hosts were this considerate and thoughtful.
Yes, the driveway is interesting, but doable. Yes, there are a lot of security cameras. The owner makes a defensible case for having them, but having three cameras in view while grilling out was still a bit weird.
The location is definitely remote, and there is a bit of a hurdle to coming and going between the driveway, the gate, the gravel road, and then the 15-20 minutes to Bristol or 30 minutes to Abingdon. Our phones said SOS Only for a lot of road miles on this trip. But the location is serene and beautiful too, no doubt.
The hike to the falls is no joke - one-third thin trail with sharp drop-off to one side, one-third normal ridge line walk, and last third full-on four-limbed, super steep scramble. But the payoff is absolutely phenomenal. Just be aware of what you're taking on when you set off. And pay close attention to the route down at the end so you find it ok going back up.
Overall, definitely recommended, if the location details all work for you.

Loved the cabin and location. Everything presented to us in the check in process and description of location was accurate. Would recommend to anyone going to the Bristol area.

The cabin was great and the Falls were amazing! Everything you need for a nice comfortable stay and a quick drive to everything.

The front porch was amazing for all six of us to sit outside and relax, loved all the rocking chairs. The sight and sound of the creek was so calming. The inside of the cabin was very clean and the bedrooms and bathrooms where a good size. Loved the complementary bottle of wine and the snack basket.

I found this beautiful large “cabin” about 30 minutes outside Bristol, Va. and rented it from its owner Don, who was terrific to work with. My 2 longtime friends from Nashville met me there for 3 nights. I drove down from Arlington and we toured the Country Music museum in Bristol and enjoyed our time together exploring the area and hanging out!

Great location very secluded. Clean, rustic on the outside modern on the inside. Beautiful flowing stream at the end of the driveway. Consider using 4 wheel drive to access. It rained most of the week we were there and had to put the truck in 4x4 to get up the drive way. Driveway has a tight turn for large vehicles. Little to no cell coverage for Verizon and unable to stream any movies due to limited bandwidth of internet service at cabin. Internet did enable for better phone access. Bottom line, great location if you want to get away from it all.!

The "Cabin" was all we hoped for. Secluded, Peaceful and well appointed with all & more than we needed. Experienced daily walks along Abrahams Creek and time to relax with Family from Kentucky.

Amazingly remote, very private location (no neighbors in sight!), but only a short drive to the shops and restaurants of Bristol. Comfortable accommodations that were perfect for a low key family getaway. My family also enjoyed hiking the trail to the falls.

Fun getaway and Holiday celebration with family. We loved that the cabin was decorated for Christmas!!! The cabin is well-furnished, clean, and cozy. Great communication with the owner. Highly recommend !

This is a well-appointed cabin in a great location. My adult kids and their dad and I enjoyed our Thanksgiving in the woods. We loved exploring the creek, the Mendota trail nearby and Bristol. Lots of interesting things to do in the area, even in the winter. The big porch is a great spot for sipping coffee and watching birds. And I'll definitely be going back in the spring/summer when everything is green and in bloom.
Instructions from owner were very clear and made everything easy.

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed the trails, and going into Bristol for great food and breweries. We would definitely stay here again.

What a great cabin. Stayed with our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) and had a blast. The property is wonderful, clean and spacious, set atop Abrams Falls Rd with great views and surrounded by nature. The cabin offers the best of a remote location yet only minutes from modern conveniences. Highly recommend staying here.

I’ve stayed in a lot of places all over the United States and this cabin by far was the cleanest!
The property managers were very responsive and kept in touch. I give 100% thumbs up on this cabin. Thanks for such a nice place to vacation.

Cabin was very clean and the instructions provided by the owner prior to our trip made us aware of everything to expect. The welcome basket was a very nice touch, and the kids loved it! We didn't have time to explore the property as we spent our time at the VA Creeper Trail, hopeful to return one day.

The cabin was in very good repair, spotless and well provisioned. The kitchen was very nice and had plenty of drawers and cupboards to tuck away our food and equipment. There was lots of counter space. Our crew said their beds were comfortable and, with 3 bathrooms, there was never a queue.
We understood that the cabin was on a (beautiful) hillside and so had plenty of stairs. We did not quite have a full understanding of the steepness of the driveway and the tight switchback. It unnerved all three drivers. It may have been a blessing in disguise as no one wanted to drive around seeing the sights. We stayed in, visited, hiked a little, relaxed, played myriads of games, and cooked good food. This was a rousing success in my book.

Secluded , magical cabin!
This place was amazing! It secluded in the woods, but features outdoor cameras for safety! Plenty of shopping and eating within 15-20 minutes away, though! It was very clean and had separate upstairs and downstairs entry for a together, but private trip experience! Beautiful water area at the bottom of the driveway with great paths to explore! We splashed in the water all day! Stunning waterfall a 40 minute or so hike away, but very difficult to get to and only experienced hikers should do this! Go, just go , and you will see!

Hi! Overall, the cabin was adequate. We could not get the grill to wok, but we made do. The whole reason we selected it however was to be able to walk to the waterfall (Abrams Falls, as in "Abrams Falls Cabin"). We followed the directions, and parked where we were allowed, and started back toward the falls. The trail was steep in places, muddy, obstructed with trees and rocks, and with step slopes down to the river. We never made it.
If you want a small clean cabin in the woods, albeit with a difficult driveway, this is a good choice. If you are booking it for the waterfall, and are not a very strong hiker, then don't choose it.

Family Visit
This property is beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting and listening to the water flowing to the falls. The cabin was in excellent condition and everything was there that we needed. Don't pass this one up!! We are already checking out calendar for next year's trip.
