The location is great! The beach access is fantastic and there are plenty of items on hand to use. The second garage fridge was awesome to have! The owners are easily accessible, although we didn’t need to contact them. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Monica‘s home at Pine Knolls. The location is superb. very private beach Just a short walk from the house. The aquarium is worthy of a visit! The house fit the 13 of us very well. And I do recommend it.

Beautiful home with gorgeous views and great proximity to beachfront! Very private with lovely natural shrubbery surrounding home including a foliage covered boardwalk to the beach. Both a covered and sun deck complete with lounge and rocking chairs overlooking the beach. We were there over July 4 and could see fireworks in both directions from the beach. Lots of beach chairs and toys, even a serviceable bike. We're an extended family who likes to cook, and the kitchen could have used more storage space and room to maneuver. Needed more room to store games upstairs out of reach of little ones. Plenty of storage in bedrooms. Overall a wonderful trip! Homeowner, Monica and management crew were exceptionally responsive!

Gathered for four nights with adult children and grandkids to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Location! Location! Right on beautiful beach. Ocean lulls you to sleep at night. Watch dolphins swim by as you enjoy morning coffee on the deck. Great screened porch with large picnic table for meals or to play board games. Plenty of outdoor seating. Lots of beach toys and boogie boards and a great outdoor shower and hose to shower everyone and everything off. Fully stocked kitchen with large dining area and plenty of seating in living room. There were 10 of us. Comfy beds. We made ourselves at home, had everything we needed and got immediate response from owner/management if we didn’t. We went into Beaufort NC for lunch one day - 15 min. Drive - lovely little town but otherwise never left the house/beach. Kids in water all day long. The first weekend of May! Gorgeous weather. We couldn’t have asked for more! (Would suggest guests bring their own beach chairs although plenty for the young ones. Or you can carry a few light weight Adirondack chairs from the porch down to beach for the day) Would love to return when we can get the entire family together again!

Heckman House and in particular the owner were wonderful. The house was clean, with plenty of towels (for shower), beds made up with linens. Stayed in the master bedroom which had views of the ocean from the windows and picture window in the master bath. Bed was comfortable and it was soothing to hear the waves at night! Kitchen well stocked with plates, pots, pans, cutlery, etc. There are wine glasses, wine opener, a small shaker and blender. Great beach access—literally on the beach with a walkway from the lower level and steps from the upper deck. The flowering bushes had a lovely fragrance but do need to be trimmed as they were encroaching on the beach walkway but did not impede access (if tall you needed to duck a bit). The upper deck and screened porch were perfect! The deck is gated so we could let our dogs hang on the deck without worry! There is also a grassy area at the bottom of the driveway which works well for “potty-ing” the pups. Beautiful ocean view from the deck and living areas. Plenty of games, cards, beach chairs, etc. Monica, the owner was super responsive to emails via VRBO-as we had many questions during the process. Additionally, upon arrival we found that the grills weren’t in great shape and there was no propane for the gas grill. Emailed Monica the following morning; she answered within the hour and by early afternoon we had a new Weber charcoal grill!

Monica’s place is simply perfect. We have two big dogs and one dog has cancer and we wanted to bring him to the ocean. He is a tripod. Monica is very gracious to allow us to stay. Her house is perfect and reminds me of mine where I grew up in FL. Thanks, Monica!

First time we have rented a place for a week in October and this turned out to be the perfect place for a little bit of everything. Had 3 daughters and two spouses and 2 grandkids for weekend for birthday celebration then rest of week just three adults and small labradoodle. We worked some (some did more than others) worked puzzles, sat on deck watching the water and amazing sunsets, walked on beach, and really took advantage of location and comfort. All but one bedroom have views of beach when you wake up! So nicely decorated with relaxing beach, water, and NC pictures. Fun books to browse through. Quiet private beach with no annoying street lights. Just comfortable in every way with space, all we needed in kitchen, comfortable beds, etc. It is a very special place - very homey. You know, these days some people are fussing about the VRBO owners who ask the renters to do too much cleanup. Our instructions were not to even strip the beds but just to relax have our coffee and enjoy our last morning at beach. These are posted instructions and not just to us. Monica knew there was a big birthday celebration and left a card and bottle of champagne. Indeed we have wonderful memories of the place. And we so appreciate Monica and her sharing her special family place with our family.

We had a great time at Monica’s property! We had two families, including a baby and it worked out really well. The ocean views and location on the beach are truly unbeatable. We had the beach to ourselves even during the last week of August. This is definitely a beach home…. it was very clean and functional (everything worked great) but a bit old with some wear and tear. That worked great for us because we felt quite comfortable but it’s not fancy. We were there for the beach and spent most of our time outside and on the balcony. Loved the outdoor shower!

Very disappointed with the cleanliness of this house .. host blamed the cleaning crew but the bathroom were nasty mold on the shower curtain and grout had mold not the cleaning crew fault! Carpets were nasty! The pictures were false advertising for this house will never stay or recommend anyone to stay!! Vrbo should inspect homes before allowing guest to stay!! I paid 6800.00 for the week I should be compensated for the filth!!!!

Family Reunion
It’s was an amazing place! Our family is spread out across the nation and because of the pandemic we have all not been together in several years! We had plenty of space for all of us. It was easy to access restaurants and grocery stores and it was wonderful to be on the beach!

Talk about a stunning location - just far enough away from Atlantic Beach to escape the crowds in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Direct beach access was awesome, as was waking up to see dolphins close to shore! House was great with more than enough space

Beautiful and perfect for our family
This property had a beautiful oceanfront view. Nice deck and screen porch overlooking g the water. It is spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Monica was accessible and quick to respond. The property is older and well maintained and super comfortable. Highly recommend.

Property is exactly as described. A no frills, older home. Beautiful location. Very short walk to the beach. My youngest was excited to find a bike in the garage. The outdoor shower was so popular that it was preferred over the indoor showers.

This is the house at the beach I would own if I could own a house at the beach. It has EVERYTHING. Clothespins, cleaning supplies, towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, sheets, extra blankets, dog towels, kitchen supplies - peelers, knives, wine openers, cocktail glassware, measuring cups. You name it, they’ve probably got it. The beds are comfortable, the house is well laid out with the downstairs area being able to be closed off (so kids can be kids without driving the adults nuts!). You get a view of the beach from every room on the main level. I practically lived on deck the week we were there. There’s also a great screened area for the dogs or for eating. Charmingly, there are birds nesting in the chimney. The chimney is completely sealed off so you needn’t worry they’ll pay you a visit inside but to hear them chirping is lovely. The outdoor shower is THE BOMB plus there’s a hose on the walkway to the beach for folks who just need to rinse their feet. The decor is relaxed, comfortable and just nice enough to feel like you’re on vacation without being too formal. For me, houses that are too fancy and formal are kind of a waste at the beach. Monica is very responsive to all communication as well. We will definitely be back!

Great house, great location
We booked this house for a family wedding. For us, it was perfect. The ocean view is ridiculous. No need to ever turn on a tv. The downstairs area is great for segregating kids when adults want some private time. Basketball ball goal was a nice touch. The kitchen is small but functional and the screen porch was our favorite dining spot. Though pet friendly, I personally would not have known otherwise. The carpet, furniture is older but owners have a good cleaning crew and could probably not allow pets if everything was brand new. If treated properly it will be a great pet friendly family home for many years. Reach out to Monica if you have questions as she is gracious and prompt.

Best beach house ever!
This house is everything a beach house should be. The views are breathtaking, the house is very clean and comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, there is an extra fridge in the garage, a screened deck, a deck with partial shade, plenty of comfy deck chairs, plenty of parking and a magical walkway from the house to the beach through a tunnel of scented shrubs. The house is only steps away from the beach giving incredible ocean views from most of the rooms. The master bathroom even features a picture window. The beds are comfortable with soft sheets and we had access to plenty of towels, wash clothes and hand towels. We brought our own beach towels. I did notice there were towels available to use for your dog. I would highly recommend this house. It feels more like you are visiting friends than staying in a rental. It is very cozy and homey.

Perfect home and beach for a family getaway!
I can't say enough good things about Monica and her beautiful property. The house has incredible uninterrupted views of the ocean and is situated on a more blissfully quiet stretch of beach. The house was very clean, with a well stocked and organized kitchen (all the appliances, tools, pots/pans and spices you could ever ask for). The garage had an extra fridge, and tons of boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas and everything you need to have a fun day at the beach. We were so thankful to be able to bring along our puppies, and there were even towels for them! While some have mentioned that the house is older, we found that everything was in good working order and we enjoyed the use of the brand new laundry room and downstairs bathroom. We cannot wait to come back to stay. What a fantastic place. Thanks so much.

The Pine Knoll Shores home is a peaceful oasis with amazing beachfront space and incredible views
What a gem of a location. We wanted a home large enough to accommodate our family of 5 with littles and both sets of grandparents, and this location delivered. We also wanted a location that felt like home with some character and not a prefabricated commercial feeling property. The physical location of the home is ideal as you are steps away from the beach with amazing sprawling beachfront and a sense of privacy. We watched dolphins from the porch, had daily shell finding adventures walking the beach, and soaked in the sunrise and sunset views. The home itself provided ample space for our group to be together while still having separate quarters when we needed to retreat. We also really appreciated how well stocked the home was allowing us to do laundry, cook, take advantage of the pack n play, and play some of the games on the bookshelf. The home is conveniently located to visit an array of nearby excursions, our favorite being a tour to Cape Lookout. Monica was very responsive with her communication and accommodating to our group. She genuinely cared that we had an excellent stay. We had a truly wonderful getaway and hope to return again someday.

Great views
Views and location were unbeatable - sunrise, sunset, and dolphin watching in between. The property itself is a bit dated and could use a refresh of things like silverware, knives etc - but not enough to detract from a very pleasant stay. The owner was also very responsive.
