Carpets and furniture are filthy dirty. Smells like urine all throughout house. Do not recommend this home. We spent 6k for this and it was majorly disappointing.

The home had an incredible view from nearly all rooms.
It was spacious and served very well.
The proximity to the town was perfect, local stores were close for any needs you may have forgotten.
The home was close to lovely walking trails to enjoy the ocean.
The home itself could definitely use a little TLC, and have some more amenities to make it easier on guests.
I’d recommend to bring extra towels for the hot tub, and toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and lotion.
The kitchen has some basics but if you’re planning to cook, consider bringing your comfort items.
The carpets are really in need of replacing, but overall, it was a great experience.
I would book it again for sure.

Upon arrival, I encountered problems locating the entry keys. I sent a msg to the host but to no response. I ended up calling the main number for the listing and they provided an entire different code for a different lock box that had a pair of emergency keys. We finally got in 30 minutes later. Once I stepped in I noticed lots of bug/mosquitos by all the windows. It would have been nice to have screens to open the windows without letting bugs in. I didn’t realize the dryer wasn’t working until I seen a not saying don’t use. Lots of stains on the walls and ceilings and several cups/glasses had lipstick stains on them.

Very beautiful views and a very short walk to downtown and the towards the sea at the back. Very short and quick drive to the beach nearby.
Saw sea lions on the rocks from the house. And the bionoculours in the house helped us see loads and loads of sea lions in the ocean.
Had kids and friends and had a get together for new year eve. Had a blast.

The lights didn’t work, multiple bulbs burnt out. Hot tub broken. Fireplace broken. Maintenance showed up but couldn’t fix anything. Rotted front steps missing deck with door to no where. Dishes and small appliances dirty. Hats and socks found in couches. Furniture torn and broken. Amazing views!

Not as advertised. Entrance porch was rotten, chained off, and covered in blackberries. Stove was inoperable without looking up manual on internet. Called for assistance but never got a call back. Tv and stereo were inoperable. 6 of the “17” beds were bunkhouse style barracks in an exercise equipment room. This house has a broke down camp vibe and it is right off the major highway. Way too expensive for what you get. Would not stay here again.

After spending $5400.00 for 4 nights we arrived at a home that was not clearly represented on the web site. The pics must have been 20yrs old. There were no glasses at all, the place was filthy, food, scuff marks, dirt. and chips missing from walls. Window coverings missing and many that were there were ripped and dirty.
Black mold in one bedroom under an eave. Mold on shelves in kitchen cabinets,terrible mold in master BR shower and all around kitchen sink. Paint totally worn off front steps and porch. Gorgeous view!! Carolyn left the house very clean and tidy for us. She is to be commended. We were disappointed that the fireplace was out of order, and the TV in the main room did not seem to work. (We brought some videos for the grandkids.) It took us a while to figure out how to work the glass-top stove, but we did. There were a number of items in need of repair, ie. one of the dining chairs with arms, and one of the swivel rockers near the main window area. When a person is paying that much for a vacation rental, it would be nice if everything was useable and in good shape. Having said that, we were captivated by the view of the stormy weather and delighted by the group of seals in the cove! Overall, it was a great time of relaxing as a family! As my 5-year-old granddaughter said, " I LIKE this hotel!!"

The TV had no sound, even after three maintenance visits. The carpet was the filthiest I have ever experienced. The racks in the oven are too narrow and unsafe. The dining room chairs are in poor repair and in dire need of deep cleaning. The view is spectacular, the bathrooms were pristine, but with the above mentioned problems, I cannot recommend this property until it is properly cleaned and repaired.

When we originally looked at this property, it was right after the new year. Back then, we didn't see all the constant negative reviews that plagued this house. Our biggest issue was the lack of attention to maintenance issues the rental property or homeowners gave to this house. For the price we paid to stay for 6 days, it would be nice if 1) we were given more than 3 dryer sheets or 3 laundry pods 2) given more than just a sample size for dish soap or more than 3 dishwasher pods 3) dining chair arm was broken (lawsuit waiting to happen) 4) lounge chair by the living room window is broken and sitting off kilter 4) given TP to last 4 days for a party of 12 people 5) no garbage bags 6) trash bins still had garbage from previous renters 6) beer cans still found around the property. 7) house keeper called in sick so we couldn't check in till 7pm. They didn't offer a discount for the inconvenience or let us know if the house was clean. We are so disappointed with our experience. Otherwise, it had the best view and location. Not worth the price.

The location was terrific. The views of the bay from the living room and large kitchen were amazing.
We didn’t care that the house was very dated, but a few things were frustrating and potentially dangerous. There was a nail in one of the dining room chairs that poked through and stabbed you when you sat. One of the living room chairs could tipped over when sat on it. The fireplace wouldn’t turn on, even following the directions left for us. The carpet was pretty badly stained and dirty if a sofa or chair was moved a bit. Aside from that, the beds were comfy and clean. Bathrooms were clean, showers were hot. Kitchen was better stocked from previous reviews but could still use some drinking glasses and skillets. We loved being able to hike around the coast line and also Depot Bay straight from the house. And the hot tub was nice.

We loved this place so much! It was one of the most places we’d stayed. We enjoyed the hot tub. The location was excellent, very closed to Downtown Depoe Bay. I will recommend this house for a big group.

The views from Pirates Cover were exceptionally beautiful! We saw seals, sea lions, cormorants, puffins and lots of WHALES! If you love to cook all your meals (which I do), you will find the kitchen sorely lacking. This house would be a five star experience if the owners would update their kitchen supplies. A $200 spend would fix the decrepit kitchenware. It needs a new can opener, a set of various sized mixing bowls, measuring spoons, Pyrex casserole dish and decent glassware. There were plenty of coffee mugs and plastic margarita glasses but nothing else. The space was GREAT for family time, the kitchen table was huge and ...did I mention the views!? FABULOUS!

The house, aside from stained carpeting in the living/dining area was spotless. The linens were nice, the kitchen was semi-decently stocked but we did have some issues. Half the hot tubs jets didn't work. The sound on the tv did not work. The coffeemaker brewed but was barely warm. Half of the toaster never popped up-fire hazard. Window coverings were torn or the springs were sprung. Hard to sleep in on vacation when you can't keep your room dark. The location was amazing and we'd stay again if these small items were fixed.

Work/family trip
We loved our experience at Depot Bay. Beautiful location. We watched the whales, sea lions and birds daily. Great home for a large group to hang out together. Really a 4 bedroom with bunk beds near the garage with treadmill. Would recommend positively to anyone as long as they understand that.

Not only were we notified last minute that we couldn't get into the house at 4 like stated in the agreement due to the cleaning staff being understaffed the house was NOT clean. There were open food wrappers left on the treadmill, cereal on the floor, in the carpet and smashed under the dining room table. Years of dust on electronics, trash left on the mantle by the TV. The house smelled like smoke/old food NOT cleaning products like expected in this climate. There were only 3 rolls of TP for a house that sleeps 17. There were clothing items and garbage from the last tenants left in the master bedroom. The smoke detectors weren't installed. There were ants, I purchased a cake for my husbands 40th birthday that was left on the counter in the laundry room for 2 hours that was covered in ants and ruined. There is also a large leak under the sink in the laundry room. There was at least 1 chair at the dining room that was broken. There were no blinds, curtains or shades on most of the bedroom windows, I think the master was the only bedroom with shades. All in all, this house is in horrible shape and was not cleaned. Not only did we not get to check in on time because the cleaning crew needed more time, the cleaning manager was not pleasant about it AND the house was gross. I will not recommend this house to anyone, nor will our guests. If you'd like, I took pictures that can be sent. Property description and photos did not match the house. It looks as if the pictures were taken when the house was new and not a single update had been made since then. The ONLY good thing about this house was the view. However, the price does not match what you get. Not worth it.

The house is in a fantastic location. Close to the beach where we could take our dog, huge windows to watch the waves and seals. Only downside is the carpet. With a rental that allows dogs, you would think they would pull out the carpet and put in some cheap flooring. There are stains upon stains from dogs that have stayed there. If you plan on cooking there, bring everything you need to cook with.

A step back to 1999
This property has so many beds! It was perfect for our hoard of teens and young adults. Everything is extremely out dated. The outside of the house needs a pressure wash for sure. Mold, mildew, algae... its pretty bad. Paint chips on the deck, sun bleached doors and foggy windows.
Majority of the beds and bedding pretty sure came from goodwill, or just been there that long.
Which was perfect. Because everything is used and abused, it kept me from freaking out over popcorn fingers, or the kids plopping into the furniture.
Inside was clean and ready for us. The stove is cracked and only 2 burners "kinda" work. But they have some ancient skillets that you can use. But you need to prop the cord just right to keep it on.
Curtains are either destroyed plastic roll ups, or missing altogether.

This home was quirky and unique. Like an abandoned grandma's house. Old fixtures, random furniture, some new things mixed in to the old.
We filled every bed, enjoyed the lack of screen time, and the view of the cove is beautiful! We will be back! Thank you!!

We loved the view and location. The bed in the master bedroom was great. The hot tub also was very nice. You can see beautiful sunsets and open the windows for air and to hear the ocean. The bathrooms were very clean with many extra towels. Nice water pressure in the shower and enough parking for several vehicles. There is an excellent pizza place across the street and a liquor store in walking distance. Some of the furniture was broken such as the chair in front of the window that would fall crooked if you sat on it wrong. One of the bar stools fell a part when I went to pick it up to push it in. One of the kitchen cabinet doors fell off when I opened it to get a glass ( that we purchased because there wasn't any, just coffee cups) out of the cabinet, so we had to fix that. There was only 1 very small frying pan so luckily we had brought our own. We also had to buy hand soap & dishwasher detergent. I wish we would have had blinds on the windows in the bedrooms. Maybe if covid wasn't still going on these things may not have matter so much, but we didn't want to eat in restaurants so being able to cook and eat at the house was a must.

This home was styled as it appears in the photo, but the actual condition of many pieces of furniture and rooms left much to be desired. We had a family group of eight staying in the house, and we ran out of forks more than once — it's hard to imagine that it's fully equipped for 17. Much of the sleeping capacity comes from a bunk room, which is in the back half of the converted garage and has three full/twin bunk beds that sleep nine. We did not have any guests sleeping in this room, but the mattresses felt thin. None of the bedrooms had complete window coverings. Some windows had tinted film or decorative blinds, but everyone woke up with the sun each morning. Many items throughout the house were in disrepair: the treadmill didn't work, the hot tub required a maintenance call, light fixtures in the bathrooms showed exposed wires and insulation and the coffee table had a loose leg, for example. The kitchen had odd items like a waffle iron but no large mixing bowls.
We enjoyed the beautiful view and spent lots of time watching the ocean. We also saw harbor seals and bald eagles. You do have to drive to find public access points to the beach. The house is located close-in, a short walk from Depoe Bay shops and restaurants, and just off 101.
Overall, it felt like the view was what earned this home its "luxury" status. Much of the decor was dated and it felt like it had once been a family home, but is no longer given much attention or care by property management. This home would be a fine choice for a large group, but the luxury status should be taken with a grain of salt.

Great girls trip, we all thoroughly enjoyed view from living room and kitchen! Slept like a baby even thought it was super stormy! The home is older but super close to everything, we Will return.
Two things that must be addressed on website!
1. Back upstairs deck has been totally removed so jacuzzi is not covered and protected like it shows in pictures, also that 1 step to nowhere,?!PAINT YELLOW! can't see at nite, dangerous!
2. Need fence or something solid to stop dog or child from drop-off in Backyard, sign NOT enough! One step and it won't be good-
