We really enjoyed our stay. Perfect layout with plenty of space. Each bedroom having a separate bathroom was ideal. Nice walking distance to downtown and museum. Only minor issues with some lights not working and not many kitchen staples. But overall very clean and comfortable.

This was a prefect accommodation for our annual friend and family ski outing. A private property located walking distance from LP with a gorgeous view of Marcy and the surrounding mountains. Views can be taken in from the expanse of windows, the large deck and even the hot tub! The open layout was very comfortable for a large group. The large fireplace made for cozy warm evenings. Look forward to many return trips in the future.

The Birches was a great place to stay while attending a wedding in Lake Placid. The 5 bedrooms with individual bathrooms was perfect for getting all of our adult children together. Plenty of space to spread out and a big common room to get together!

This stay was to celebrate my husband’s 70th and we had in total 6 adults and 6 kids ranging from 11 months to 6 years old. From the moment we pulled up to the house
we knew this was just the place! A beautiful home - light and airy and clean and with a fantastic open floor plan. The balconies were wonderful for relaxing and enjoying the great views and also the hot tub! Very comfortable beds and close to everything! The game room also great with the ping pong table!
Highly recommend this place and the owner was a pleasure to speak with and answer any of our questions.

Big house, comfortable beds in Lake Placid. Big kitchen with full amenities. A big deck with a view of Marcy, the mountain we came to climb.
Kevin, the owner, communicated well and promptly with me.
There was a hot tub, but nobody used it, as we came back from Marcy at 9, and all anybody wanted to do was shove pizza down our gaping maws, shower and sleep, so I cannot say anything about the hot tub, but it looked nice.
Overall, no complaints. I will try to book again in May.

Such a beautiful, well taken care of home. So conveniently located close to Mirror Lake and all the area has to offer. We LOVED that each bedroom has its own full bath. Kevin was great to communicate with and share his lovely home. Will definitely return again ! Thank you from the Alpine Splendor Reunion group.

5 married couples on motorcycles used the Birches as a central point for touring in this part of the Adirondacks. Don't miss the Ausable Gorge & the Whirteface Mtn Memorial Drive.

We savored the quiet, the view and the open kitchen for dinner prep. It was a great space for our crew with an easy walk to Mirror Lake.

Birches is beautiful, relaxing and clean.
Perfect spot to be away from town, but only 1/2 mile walk to town. We had a total of 6 adults.
Would recommend for any group of 6-12 people. This place would be awesome in the Winter for skiing!

For our quick 3 night stay, this rental offered us a beautiful spacious clean house with a wraparound porch taking in the view while sipping coffee. Plenty of deck chairs and a outdoor table to eat. We were 4 couples visiting for a wedding, so it was great that the large bedrooms had full bathrooms, linens and towels. The upstairs bedrooms also had outdoor balconies and some had lofts. We didn’t get to use the 5th bedroom with two beds, washer & dryer, fireplaces, gas bbq, or fire pit. The large kitchen had essentials to prepare a meal and a quiet dishwasher. It was very quiet at night sleeping with the windows open. Downstairs had ping pong and an outdoor clean & hot, hot tub. Plenty of parking in the driveway and a very short drive into town to shop & eat. Kevin, answered any of my questions with a quick response. If we are up in the area again, we would definitely see if this house is available, and we would stay much longer!

The home was a perfect place for our winter gathering of long time friends. The entire house was comfortable for everyone. The kitchen was very well stocked. It was a very good trip.

Beautiful large house, the online photos do not do it justice. The appliances have been updated and kitchen has excellent quality cooking equipment. Very short drive to downtown Lake Placid and all winter activities. We were hoping for a white Christmas and were not disappointed. Lovely white power snow and with the road and drive plowed during our stay no issues with driving in and out but would recommend an AWD vehicle. Table tennis table was a big hit! Highly recommend.

Had just a wonderful time. Unbelievable view of the Olympic ski jump and Whiteface at night. Quiet community with privacy and in nature but close enough to town to be really convenient. Kids loved all of the lofts, ping pong table, the hot tub, and the fact they could sled in the front and side yards.

Ski trip for family and friends. This property was larger than we expected. Our party of 12 had plenty of room to spread out. The bedrooms are very spacious. The hot tub was perfectly clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Only things we were missing was tinfoil and plastic wrap. The house was a scenic drive to Whiteface, where we skied each day. There was lots of room for ski boots in the entrance. I would be happy to stay here again.

We had some specific requirements that we needed and the owner was very helpful in investigating our needs. The property was spacious and comfortable. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.

This property was perfect for our family of 7 adults and 4 children. It was large and spacious and had plenty of room. Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom which was really great for each family to have their own space. There is a pool table, a ping pong table and plenty of puzzles that provided lots of indoor fun before we went to bed each night. The house is clean and well taken care of. The property owner is very nice and quickly answered any questions I had. The location is perfect. It is very close to downtown Lake Placid where there are plenty of stores and restaurants. There are a couple of museums about an hour and a half away that are well worth the drive. We just needed to plan more time to really enjoy them. The boat ride on Lake Placid was a lot of fun, as well as the gondola ride up Whiteface Mountain. There are plenty of outdoor activities in the area if you have time. We had a great vacation and I would like to stay here again if we get to return. I would definitely recommend this property and already have to my sisters who are planning a trip to this area in the near future.

This house was great for our first vacation all together. The bedroom setup is awesome. The rooms are quiet and all have private bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for a group. We would return to this house again if we head up to Lake Placid.

Excellent place to stay in Lake Placid for a group. The house exceeded our expectations. We were 8 adults on a golf tour and it suited our needs. The host Kevin was very responsive.

The Birches is absolutely amazing! Waking up to the late wrap around porch was one of my personal highlights; not to be undone by a super clean hot tub. Close to town. Lots of space. Really easy going owner.

Loved The Birches: Comfortable, spacious, really attractive! Great room with kitchen and huge fireplace made a natural spot to congregate without being on top of each other. Very well equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms with bathrooms for each. Lofts add a lot of capacity, lots of extras like hot tub/ping pong. Pretty views although our weather wasn’t optimal. Driveway plowing made a difficult driveway quite acceptable. Kevin was very communicative and flexible. Only quibble was not really knowing to bring supplies like TP, garbage bags, soap/shampoo; just advance notice would have been fine. But Kevin got us resupplied when we asked; can’t do better than that. Easy to get in and out of town and to area attractions.

This was an excellent house and location for our Lake Placid getaway that met all of our needs. Our group had four couples where each could comfortably have their own bed/bathroom combinations which was a big plus. We utilized full use of the cottage features (Hot Tub, Fireplace, ping pong) and everything was in great working shape. Very pleasant communications with the owner Kevin as well who was extremely helpful in preparing for our trip. Overall we would stay here again.

What a beautiful house. Very conveniently located to all shops and dining. Very roomy and cosy. Can’t wait to go back. The owner is very friendly and gets back to you very quickly. The views from all of the decks are stunning. The entire house is very spacious.

The Birches was a great getaway for our retreat for 20 young adults. The town, beach, hiking and golf are all within a short walk. Accommodations are spacious for groups of at least 15-20, and contains all the needed amenities. Will definitely consider again for our next trip.

Second year going to Lake Placid for Oktoberfest, first year staying at the Birches. This is the perfect accommodation for a group of 10 or more. All 5 bedrooms are great, the view, the hot tub, the spacious common area, all make for a memorable weekend. I would recommend 110%.

We were a group of 17 and stayed there for 4 nights in june 2013. The cottage is spacious, very well equiped with everything necessary (and more) and the view from the porch is wonderful. It is a super calm place while at the same time within walkin distance to downtown lake placid. Everybody had a good time, and I would defintely recommend this place.

We have been renting houses in Lake Placid for years and this is our favorite so far. The pictures don't do it justice. Very spacious layout downstairs and the bedrooms are all a great size with baths of their own. There was snow on the ground while we were there and the kids had a great time sleigh riding down the driveway. We were traveling with 5 kids that were 3 and under and there was plenty of room to spread out. The view was spectacular and we loved the Adirondack feel that the home has. Kitchen was great. The home was very clean. The only downside is that there are no window treatments of any kind on the bedroom windows. Luckily we realized that and prepared ahead of time. We will definitely consider renting this home again!!
