I have stayed in many nicer places for much less $. Just because it’s on Block Island, I supposed the owner feels they can charge this much, but it is definitely not work it. The host is very difficult to get a hold of. I sent a message when I first booked, got no reply. Then sent a few messages just before the date, because a hurricane was threatening, and there were possibly going to be ferry cancellations. It took several emails, and then a call to vrbo to get a response. Checking in was also difficult, he didn’t send me instructions until the evening of check in, after I sent an email through vrbo. He said his phone doesn’t work at his house, mine worked, he uses the wrong carrier, no way to do business! There are two flights of very steep steps you need to climb to get up to the apartment, and I found it to be very dingy and had to wash the kitchen counters, as there was oily grime on them, and crumbs on the glassware shelf. The bed had no bedspread, just two very crumpled sheets, and an old light synthetic blanket. It was positioned under the roofline and I hit my head very hard on the low slanted ceiling after trying to settle the pillows and sheets. Worst though, the mattress was very worn. There was a low spot on one side, so I had to try to sleep on the far side, where it was firmer. Hardly slept either night. I had chosen this rental, because it stated that it slept four. The second “bed” was a very worn futon couch, glad my daughter didn’t come!

We enjoyed our stay on Block Island, didn't do much more than shower and sleep there. The AC made it comfortable. Arnie and Duke were very pleasant to deal with.

This third floor apartment is perfect for one or two people. It is clean and conveniently located near all the things to see and do on Block Island! Arnie is a wonderful host and gave me good advice about places to eat and things to do during my stay. I will definitely be back!

I found the apartment to be larger than the pictures portrayed. The bed is very soft and plush, and there is a a futon in the living room if you prefer a firmer mattress. Arnie is responsive and engaging, really knows and loves the island. We would stay here again!

It was nice to find a place that accommodated 4 adults to allow our family to enjoy several days on the island rather than take the ferry to and from in one day as we usually do.

Adorable property. It’s a little far out so you’ll need cabs or a bicycle to get around. Arnie is a great host I enjoyed speaking to him. Outdoor shower has hot water which was great. Would stay here again.

Location was fantastic- far enough away from restaurants and bars that it was quiet but close enough to get there easily on bikes. The unit was adorable, clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Host was awesome and offered restaurant and site seeing suggestions, as well as checked in regarding our need for additional towels etc. Really a fantastic experience! Would definitely stay here again.

Me and my son had a fantastic stay, it was off season when it is often hard to find a place. The owner Arnie couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. Looking forward to staying there again soon!

Annie was a terrific host! Our trip was specifically for hiking so it was great! Not super close to restaurants or groceries but that's fine if you are aware of that. Cozy digs for two!

Great place, just enough frills, clean and great location. Property owner is responsible and responsive.

Arnie checked us in and gave us a tour. Close enough to the action, but far away from the hustle and bustle of the town. We rented two units and had easy access to both. We didn’t spend too much time on the property as we only had a short stay and explored the island. But it was clean, comfortable and just what we needed. All of the taxis know the address - just say “go to Arnie’s house”. The studio bed was one of the softest and comfiest beds ever!

Arnie was an amazing host. He welcomed and gave us great restaurant recommendations. His apartment was perfect for a couple and would also be great for a couple with a child. I highly recommend staying at Arnie's place.

Arnie is an extremely welcoming host! His property is beautiful, well kept and very clean. Everything was in good working condition and the property is conveniently located to all things Block Island. I communicated with Arnie quite a bit as I was attending a wedding on BI, and wanted to make sure I would be able to get around. Arnie was super responsive, and very professional and extremely helpful in making my weekend wonderful! I loved this accommodation and would never hestitate to rebook here with Arnie in the future!

This property was perfect. I rented a bike and could easily get all around the island. Arnie had coffee which was great and the bed was comfortable. I would stay there again and highly recommend. The pictures and descriptions in the listing are spot on and it was super clean.

We had a wonderful weekend staying on BI. The apartment worked for us. We have stayed there before and the owner is great to rent from. Very helpful and easy going. We had 3days of family sun and fun. Thanks and see you next year.

Our Ferry was cancelled on Friday due to inclement weather, couldn’t use our reservation for Friday, but our host offered Saturday an Sunday as an alternative to Friday and Saturday. We were very grateful for the accommodations and were able to change our planes for those days. Thank you Arnie for your help 😊

Did a 4 person girls weekend in June and had the most wonderful time ever. The Apartment was bigger than it appeared in the post. The location was so convenient. Walks to our meals through picturesque grills of wild flowers. The host, Arnie, was warm and so accommodating whether it was for an early check-in or when we lost one of the keys. He made the whole experience so relaxing and effortless and just couldn’t ask for a better vrbo experience. Whether you are a couple, a group of friends or a family I would say this is the ideal getaway.

We had a family gathering right on center road so this location was perfect! The kitchen is more of a kitchenette and the space is a studio rather than a bedroom but we all had a lovely time being together! And when you are on block island what else I could you need?

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Block Island. Our host, Arnie, was so helpful and made us feel right at home. The apartment was adorable. We had everything we needed for our too short stay on the island. We hope to return for a longer visit in the near future.

Arnie was willing to adjust his schedule to greet us upon arrival. He was kind enough to offer suggestions for what we could do on Block Island and sensitive enough not to intrude where we already had ideas. We had a wonderful time! Lovely area very calming. Wonderful stay, wonderful location, clean and easy and nice indoor outdoor scene. Landlord very accessible and clear communicator!!! Really a high mark all around.
