2 families shared this space and had all the comforts of home. Well stocked with beach chairs, toys, towels etc. Love the proximity to shops and restaurants which were an easy walk away. Owner was responsive to any questions. Would definitely recommend!

Great location to walk to shops in Duck. House had all the extras we needed for time at the beach including use of beach towels and umbrellas. Also enjoyed extras like pickleball set and tennis supplies. Pet friendly and clean! We had a lovely week.

My friends and I stayed here for a week over the 4th of July and we had the best time. The location of this home is so ideal: we could walk to coffee, to the beach and restaurants. We cooked quite a bit and the kitchen had all of the cookware we needed and was very clean. Would definitely recommend this house!

This home is very clean, easy walk to the beach and downtown Duck. We left the car at the house and walked everywhere. A bunch of places to eat nearby or just go to Wee Winks or another market and cook at home. Great experience! Our family of 5 will stay here again if we come back to the OBX.

We just had the best family vacation! Our three teenagers even said it was one of the best vacations they've had. The home was very clean with everything we needed. We only brought food and clothing, everything else was available in the house. It was beautiful and comfortable and we felt right at home there. The covered sitting area outside was great. We could get out of the sun and extreme heat and stay cool with the shade and wonderful breaze. The hot tub was relaxing. The location of the house was perfect. We barely got in our car, which in my opinion, really felt like a vacation. We walked multiple times a day to the beach and was also in a short walking distance to so many restaurants. Even though everything was close by, the street was quiet and felt like we were away from all business of life. It was a perfect relaxing stay. We had some much needed family time. Thank you for the great accomodations and well cared for home!

We had a wonderful stay. The location is unbeatable - walking distance to everything on the boardwalk and to the beach! We barely touched our cars. It is located in an optimal place for ease of access to everything as well as privacy. We didn't see any neighbors or hear anything and had an amazing time at the beach and enjoying Duck. The house is very well stocked - plenty of items in the kitchen as well as outdoor use. If we had known how well, we could have made our lives easier and not packed so much! I can't say enough great things about the property. Scott and his family make it feel like your second home!

We loved our stay. This home was incredibly clean and comfortable enough to feel like home away from home. With easy access to the beach and close proximity to the boardwalk, it made our first visit to the OBX easy. We would recommend this spot for families or a group of friends.

Couldn’t have been a more glorious week! The house and location was perfect. Now we see why over half of the renters are repeat customers. There is nothing we lacked and are grateful for the time we spent in Duck! Hope to return again soon.

Great overall stay. Only complaint regarding cottage was the chains on the ceiling fans were to short for someone "vertically challenged "! Owner thought of everything to make for a fun stay for myself and my family. It was a great experience! Thank you!!

Let me begin by saying we loved our vacation in this home ! We loved the town of Duck and all that it had to offer. The house was immaculate and well kept. My family loved every moment and we are so happy that we were able to spend our vacation in this home !

House was very nice! Good setup for family with 4 equal size rooms and 2 large bathrooms. Great size kitchen for cooking and well appointed. We drove to the parking lot at the condos with no issues for parking and making it easier to haul our stuff to the beach. Loved the pool access. Had kind of a rainy week, was nice to have space to play family games and be comfortable.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. The property is in a great location, short walk from the beach and convenient to the shops. We really enjoyed the sunrise walks along the coast and evening dips in the hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped. Only drawback was the bed sizes; not sure if I misread the listing or if the listing needs to be revised. I was expecting queen beds and they were full-size beds. Over all, we had a wonderful stay.

We loved everything about this beach house! We are a family of 6 & had a wonderful stay. We even brought our frenchie. It was very clean & you could tell the home is well taken care of & loved. We love the natural wood beams & high ceilings in the main living area. It was nice having everything we needed as the house is thoughtfully stocked! We enjoyed the community pool & the community events of the town of Duck. Very close to town. We look forward to returning again.

Loved that this rental provided linens and allowed us to use their towels as well. Hot tub is a nice bonus. We did not realize until we arrived that we shared the pool with the condo complex at end of road. Thought this would bother me more than it actually did as the pool was never filled up any day we were there. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay.

Disappointing
Two major issues: they replaced the dishwasher in the middle of our stay. We also had to rewash a set of sheets because the bed was sandy. Several minor issues: at least two broken chairs and a broken boogie board among the beach supplies. Grill was dirty. The kitchen only had four table spoons so we had to rely on soup spoons. While they provide towels, you may want to bring one or two of your own. To get the full security deposit back, you need to wash and dry any towels you use before you leave.

Relaxing trip for our 25th Anniv
Had a great stay here with our small pups. Very quiet and private road with a short walk to the beach or shopping and restaurants in Duck. Very clean and bright house with everything we needed, including great internet! Enjoyed or evenings in the hot tub. Can't wait to go back!

Adorable house and a great location
The house is in excellent condition and the owners have stocked the kitchen very well. The location is also wonderful and walking distance both to Duck and the beach. There was one minor issue with the house outside water having been winterized for washing off sandy feet and the owner responded and handled it immediately. Great stay!

Wonderful Duck Getaway
We had 2 adults and 2 kids at this property and had a great time. The beds were comfortable, the deck was great, there was a nice looking hot tub that we didn't use since it was SO hot, and the community pool was neat, too. The beach was wonderful - perfectly aqua blue water. Saw lots of fish and hermit crabs! The kitchen was stocked really, really well, and the commercial size washer and dryer made laundry so easy. The TVs in every room is a nice touch and there are sand toys/beach chairs galore that made it really easy to not have to pack extra things.
The only thing I can think of that was different than we expected was the distance to beach. An 8 min walk was noted, but with 2 small kids and older folks, and it being 90 degrees, we drove every day and parked in the lot. The beach walkway is located in between the two condominiums and we were a bit confused at first wondering where the path was. The "playground" consists of swings only, but there is a more traditional playground in town.
We're back in the reality of work and our homes away from the beach now. Really looking forward to going back. I could see this being a great stay at any time of the year.

Very charming home in an excellent location
The house is spotless, wonderfully equipped and convenient for both town and beach while being in a very quiet location. With 3 teens, 2 parents and a grandparent the house had plenty of space to relax together or spend quiet time alone.
We really appreciated the well equipped kitchen as we love to cook - and found all the tools we needed to make full meals.
The 5 minute walk to the beach was easy and enabled us to spend a lot of time swimming, watching sunrises and moonrises and night hikes with the ghost crabs.
The town is great and safe for teens - our kids (14-17) loved their freedom to walk around the boardwalk and visit Duck Donuts (several times during our week!)
We love nature so watching the dolphins, fish, seabirds, osprey, fence lizards and writing spiders also made for a really fun week. Highly recommended!

Perfect location
We recently stayed here for a week and loved the place. It is perfectly located in Duck with very walk-able access to the main shops/restaurants of Duck, but far enough away that it wasn't crowded or loud by the house. The beach was also very close, but too far to walk with beach stuff. You can park in front of the beach and walk from there, which is what we did every time except in the evenings when we just walked to the beach without chairs and things like that. The house is very well stocked with a lot of things you don't normally find in most rentals for guest usage. The owner was wonderful to deal with and very responsive. The bedrooms aren't very large, but that didn't both us. Overall just a great place to relax for a week!

Great location and house for our first visit to the Outer Banks. We loved that it was a short walk or easy drive to the beach and was also within easy walking distance to the sound side and many shops on the boardwalk. Hot tub was very nice to have. Beach toys and boogie board were great to have also. Very happy with our stay at the “Happy Place”!

Wonderful home! Perfect location!
We loved staying at this home for a week It fit 4 adults and 3 kids comfortably, and along with a well-appointed kitchen, there were so many nice touches: a fun swing by the hot tub, gas grill, beach chairs, and lovely decor. It's an easy walk to the beach/pool (or you can drive 20 seconds and park) and the boardwalk is a short walk in the other direction (go to Duck Cottage for coffee; homemade ice cream at Big Bucks near the end of the boardwalk). The owner was very communicative and helpful, the deer plentiful, and the ghost crabs at night on the beach were super cool to the11yr olds (bring your flashlights). We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us!

You have the benefits of having the house along with the benefits of being close by to the amenities of a resort. Great trip! In hindsight, I would have read the rules better (didn’t realize there was a lot I should have packed).

Great spot near the beach!
This little house was perfect for our OBX vacation. We had four adults and three children, and we had a fantastic time. The house is on a private, quiet lot in easy walking distance to the town of Duck and the beach. The hot tub on-site was amazing, as was the outdoor shower - warm water! The house had all necessary implements for cooking meals on-site, too, including a charcoal grill and a propane grill outside. The owner of the house also had excellent communication. We would definitely use this house again.

Just Perfect !!
Our family had such a wonderful time staying at My Happy Place!! The home was spotless when we arrived, and was well stocked with everything we needed. The location was quiet, very close to the beach and we were greeted with a lovely sunrise every morning. The location is perfect. Our family was able to connect and relax, and we are looking forward to rebooking next summer!
