It is a beautiful location and lovely comfortable condo. We did have to deal with a leaking toilet but the plumber was able to fix when he made it over to us. It ought to be noted somewhere that there’s no actual oven, just a convection/microwave oven combo. Our chocolate chip cookies weren’t very good. Having a manual there would have been really nice. Also the cooktop is induction which could have used a manual or “cheat sheet” also! A retractable shade screen on the lanai would make the lanai more useable in the hot Hawaiian afternoons.

This is unit is literally 25’ from the ocean. The grounds are golf course quality. The grass is perfect. The view is perfect. The accommodations were perfect. Staff perfect. Well equipped with all cooking utensils. Beds comfortable. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Maintained well. Newer renovation on interior. Clean. Close to several grocery stores, post office, restaurants, gas,etc, yet having a remote feel. Best place I’ve ever stayed. I have nothing negative to say.

15 minutes after pulling out of Kahalui we were enjoying the amazing, Sugar Beach!! All of the photos we saw showed that the beach seemed pretty close to this unit. It is somehow closet in person. It is so convenient that you kind of feel like you're cheating!! With that, the gentle lapping of waves at night is way better than any white noise machine!! In the morning make coffee in the unit or walk the beach for 3 minutes to find a stellar, local coffee shop/bakery!!! After you're set for the day, everything Kihei has to offer is only a few minute drive away. You really would never need to go more than 5 miles from this place for anything you could imagine! That being said, it takes about 25 minutes to get to Lahaina/Kanapali and maybe 10 minutes to get to Wailaea. Absolutely stellar location on the island and within the complex. The folks on site helping facilitate rentals are the best you are going to find!!

We came for a week with my 92 year old dad and the condo was PERFECT. We were steps from the “path” to the beach so had easy access for walking in the sand. We pulled the chaise lounges out into the grass during the day for relaxing, enjoyed our meals on the lanai, took the chairs onto the grass in the evening to watch the sun go down. The view was awesome. The condo is newly redone and very clean and comfortable inside. I didn’t feel like I was in a rental but staying in a friend’s home. Everything we needed for the week was there, including beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels and umbrellas. The rental company was easy to work and very helpful. We had a wonderful time and I’m already anxious to go back....maybe next time for a month (I wish)

Great location, beautifully maintained property and management on site if there’s a problem (we had none). There are two pools to choose from and the beach is at your doorstep, perfect for a morning or evening walk. Our unit didn’t have an oven but that wasn’t a downside for us as the induction cooktop was fine . Coffee maker, toaster and plenty of pots and pans. There is one tv in the living room, none in the bedrooms, with kids in tow that could be a problem (our older kids didn’t mind) We noticed a RoKu controller although didn’t use it. Sunrise and sunsets are lovely. Paradise found.

We are a family of 6, 4 kids, and this location was kid friendly!! It has great pools, and the best beach. We had so much fun on our 9 days, and when we go back, will be staying here again!! The room is well equipped! It’s one of the few I have stayed at that actually has sharp knives to chop up food, and great cookware, which made food in, enjoyable! Wish there was a washer and dryer in the unit, but that is minimal to the amount of FUN we had with our stay at Ma’alaea Surf resort!

Having been to Ma'alaea Surf previously, we knew what to expect from the overall property. Unit A1 was nicer than we expected. Kitchen very well stocked, two good-sized bedrooms with king beds, ample comfortable seating for all guests. Our only suggestion would be a nightstand/bedside table on both sides of guest bedroom bed. Of course, the beachfront location and view is unbeatable. Suggestion: Make restaurant reservations as far ahead of visit as possible. We found popular restaurants booked completely or only early/late times available.

Very nice getaway for a family. It was a very comfortable condo for 3 adults (1 couple). It was great to be on the beach, although it was a little smaller than expected. Property was as described, and the service was good. Something should probably be done to better control the lizard population.

We simply could not have been any more pleased with our time at Ma'alaea Surf Resort. The staff keep the grounds impeccably maintained. Our unit (A-1) was well furnished and the kitchen was well stocked. Being right on the water was simply magical for us. Having laundry on site (the cleanest laundry room I have ever seen by the way) was a great bonus for us. I could not more highly recommend this resort if you are ready to relax. No muss, no fuss, just relaxation. Thank you for making this type of simple vacation experience available. We could not be more grateful for the memories our family made there!

First time in this unit, overall we were happy and loved the location. This unit has been taken care of and is comfortable.The furniture (sofa) has a 'whoppee' cushion effect when sitting down giving lots of startled looks (and giggles) in that direction. The furnishings are a little tired, there isn't an oven but who cooks when in paradise! Took a little help from management on the cooktop. Loved having the coffee grinder for the great coffee beans.The property is so well tended and it is the 'old Hawaii' feel that brings me back to this lovely spot. Management is always helpful and quickly resolves any issues.

The location cannot be beat. Small things are not being addressed however. Needs overhead door stop on front screen door so when you are trying to get in with big items the door will stay open. food, kids etc.
Pans that are nonstick. they can be purchased from costco for $30.00 or so.Internet comes and goes, don't really know what can be done about that. No coffee table, no garbage bags.. Small issues but they make the travellers life easier. Top shelf of fridge freezes food so cannot be used. Tap needs replacing or tightening. As I said small but annoying things. Loved all else about this unit.Hope this helps and useful for all guests.

I and my 3 girl friends enjoyed our time spent in condo A-1. Perfect location - halfway to Lahaina and half way to Kihea. We were right on the beach and had a swimming pool right next to our front door. The condo was equipped with everything we needed and more. Beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was great!! The staff here at the resort were really wonderful to us. The grounds were beautiful.

We recently stayed at Maalaea Surf A1 during the end of May. It was quiet, relaxing and wonderful. The condo is clean, updated and fully stocked. We have been coming here for years and have never had a problem. The management staff is responsive and courteous. The location is right on Sugar Beach and is perfect for walking or just watching the ocean. We will definitely be back for another visit.

Everything awesome, the unit location and cleanliness excellent. The stovetop is a challenge as we cook each day. The Bbq is a daily event but an oven is a missed appliance. Josie took expert care of us and with Michelle the two are a definite asset for the company.
