This property is a gem. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and it has both a lovely indoor bathroom and an outdoor shower. The ocean facing lanai was just fantastic - perfect for lounging and sunset watching. Not only were we in a unique home on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the world, we were not isolated in a resort, and felt integrated into the north shore community. An excellent bakery with the best donuts and pecan rolls we've ever had was a short walk away. A farm stand with wonderful fresh produce was a short drive away, as was a grocery store. If you are looking to explore fine dining every night, this may not be the spot for you, but with the sound of the pounding surf and the view from the lanai, we didn't miss it. The Waimea Valley and Waimea Bay were very accessible, and even day trips to Diamond Head and Honolulu were not a hassle, but if you never left this property for the entirety of your stay, your time would be well spent.

It’s our 3d time staying at this property, and we love it every time!
The view from the porch is amazing!

It’s a cozy, comfortable nook where you are lulled to sleep by ocean waves and soft breezes. Very relaxing with lots to do nearby. This cottage exceeded my expectations as did the friendly hosts.

The property was even better than the photos. The oceanfront porch was dreamy ...surfing steps away.
Bobbi made booking easy and provided a detailed driving guide. Dora was at the property to greet us with a warm welcome. She was very sweet, and available should we need something. Chuck, nice as could be, was just next door for questions or needs.

This beach cottage was GREAT! LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Right on the beach. Property managers Dora and Chuck were awesome. Chuck even made us a bonfire on the beach one night. Will definitely return someday.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at this amazing house. It’s just big enough for 3-4 people and the views are unparalleled! Both Chuck and Dora are wonderful hosts and simply exude the spirit of Aloha.

Wow! This is the spot. Doesn't get any better, and Chuck and Dora are the best hosts. So helpful.

Beautiful, clean, relaxing beachfront property. Would definitely book again.

It’s older, like most properties on the north shore. Two bedroom, one bath and small but honestly perfectly fine since we spent all our time outdoors in the back yard watching the surfers. Ted’s Bakery is walking distance and has breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is exceptional as demonstrated by the line of patrons.

What a perfect setting and great house. Just a few steps to the beach.

We had a lovely stay at this home just before Christmas. Even though the weather was not ideal when we visited, the location was perfect and we enjoyed relaxing on the porch overlooking Sunset Beach even in the rain. We were traveling with two teen boys who love to surf so it was dreamy for them. The house is well stocked with all you need for cooking. We all slept comfortably. Chuck, the property manager, was super helpful. The only that would have made the stay better was to have the bikes in working order or have arranged rentals. The cycling trail is great.

Aloha! This Property did not disappoint. We have been to Hawaii numerous times, however never stayed on the North Shore. It was an amazing experience staying at an authentic inspired Hawaiian Cottage, walking right out to beach, gorgeous views from the deck, quiet and relaxing. A different historic Island vibe than being on the very crowded, loud Waikiki side. The Pics do not do it justice. Chuck, the caretaker was awesome and a definite reason to return, a delight to get to know and was our local historian, native to Oahu taught us so much about the History of the Islands. We experienced things we had never taken the time to do on the North Shore, Zip Lining, Waimea Falls Valley, Ted's Bakery, Turtles, local stores, oh yes, and relaxing. Thank you for the memories we made. We will certainly return. Mahalo, from your Idaho Ohana!!!

The location can’t be beat! Beautiful beach just out the back door, amazing sunsets, and wonderful host. Chuck was a pleasure to talk to and always attentive to our needs. Unit had fishing and beach gear that we put to use.

Online communication terrible, caretaker on site wonderful. We did not get an address and directions to the site until the day before we were due to check in. The property caretaker is next-door and he was hospitable and knowledgeable. Luckily he was able to let us in since the directions regarding the key were ambiguous.
It really is right on the beach. You need to be able to handle 18 steps down to the beach. Walking distance to a lady who makes fresh fruit smoothies, and in the other direction a nice café and bakery. Snorkeling was pretty good. July. Beaches in the area nicely populated but not overcrowded. One of the bedrooms is excellent, the second one is kind of an afterthought.

House was just as advertised if not better! We spent a lot of time researching properties and landed on this one. Pictures don't do it justice. Chuck was great, set us up with bikes and guided us with the lay of the land. Would definitely stay here again.

My family and I (two kids 11 and 14) had a fantastic time at this house. The pictures don't do it justice. The Living / Dining area has an amazing Banyan tree mural that stretches across the wall and ceiling. Bedrooms are great and the back deck is serene. Most importantly, just a few steps take you to the incredible Sunset Beach. A short drive will get you to fantastic snorkeling at Shark's Cove. Outdoor shower makes it easy to cleanup afterwards. This stay was the highlight of our Hawaii vacation. Forget Waikiki - this house on the North shore is the place to be.

Our stay was perfect. The location was perfect. The house was perfect. Chuck was way cool and even offered to teach my son to surf. The covered porch overlooking the ocean is our favorite place in the world. The murals inside the house were fantastic and gave a cool vibe to the place. We would come back for sure. Thank you for sharing this amazing place!

Beautiful place to land for a week. We are frequent travelers to Hawaii due to our love of the islands and family ties in HI. We've stayed at several places on the North Shore in Oahu and sunset cottage is definitely at the top of our list. We were greeted upon arrival by Chuck, the groundskeeper, and local historian/surfer. His friendly personality was immediately welcoming and he answered any questions we had about the property, and local attractions, and he told us some Hawaiian history along the way as well. He also keeps a watch on things which is reassuring as a nonlocal visiting. The lanai (porch....very important) is one of the best I have seen in Hawaii with an incredible day bed right there to nap and watch the waves, whales, surfers, and breathtaking sunsets. There is also an incredible pier telescope where we could see the smiling crescent moon at night as well as a happy fluting whale during the day. It's a nice touch for lazy hours on the lanai. There are fascinating art pieces and murals throughout the property and the beach is just a stairway away from the lanai. The kitchen has all utensils you need to make your own meals and you can find any ingredients you need at Foodland down the road. If you are a runner, just hop on the trail out the backdoor (towards the street) and go right for a run down the road past the beaches and local neighborhoods. Whether this is your first trip or your 10th, you will be impressed with this setup. Aloha and thank you, Chuck!

We had some issues navigating through the check in process. When we showed up at 4pm, the previous guests had left a mess, and the caretaker (Chuck) was still working to clean the property. It was around 7pm when we got checked into the house, but Chuck was great. The location is absolutely beautiful and Chuck even took my 16 year old son out surfing. We’d stay here again.

Incredible stay from start to finish. The property was outstanding and we wanted for nothing. Communication was efficient and honest. If we ever come back to Oahu, we'd stay here without hesitation.

The property was absolutely beautiful! The house was everything we could have asked for, from the beautiful porch over looking the ocean to the super comfy giant couch on the patio where we spent many hours. Besides the house Chuck the caretaker of the property was amazing! We can not say enough. We had mentioned wanting to do a bonfire on the beach, he got everything set up for us, he aired up bike tires in case we wanted to ride bikes, he showed my husband and son how to look for sand crabs at night. He even remembered our kids names! Super awesome knowledge of the island, we even managed to see a big surf competition with 50 foot waves! Incredible time and we can’t wait to come back!!!

You don't need to hop in an Uber, cross the street, or even don your shoes for this one. Beachfront access as advertised with spectacular views of the waves, surfers, and sunset. Just walk off the porch and down a few steps to the water. House had everything we needed. *Chuck is awesome, as mentioned by every other review.

Loved our little house on Sunset beach. Very cozy but the porch is amazing. Looking out over the beautiful ocean - can’t get much better. 😊

We booked this for my husbands 60th birthday just 2 of us . Was a relaxing retreat and chuck the caretaker is wonderful . Just one thing would make it perfect is a screen on the lanai to the owners house . It’s not very private when the owners are there. Their music was also very loud at times . Other than that it was a perfect getaway .

Perfect spot on the perfect beach. Parking at the North Shore beaches is insane, so having direct access to one just of the back steps was amazing. And a short drive to Haleiwa for food and sites (and shave ice)

Just book it!
If there were 6 stars to give I would. It's a perfect balance between casual and formal. The kitchen and bathroom are top notch, obviously a lot of thought into both. The oversized couches inside and out are fantastic. What sunset views! This is indoor/outdoor living at it's best. Chuck the caretaker was friendly and attentive, super nice guy, never intrusive. The beach is right out your back door. We swam and snorkelled as the waves are low in summer. I can't recommend this place enough. It was the best part of our Hawaii holiday, only regret is we didn't book it longer. Mahalo.

Book this House!
This was the first vacation of my life where, after a week, I was not ready to return home. The house is quirky and the view of the backyard and the sound of the waves crashing is so soothing. Charming, casual, and peaceful.

We can't wait to return!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!
House is steps from the water and very comfortable. Newly updated kitchen looks great and had everything we needed.
The daybed on the back deck was the perfect place to start and end the day.
Chuck was great! Friendly and full of great information!
