We absolutely loved this condo, from ease and professionalism of process, to the condo decorating, fabulous location where you can hear the waves crashing, sit on the beach, great access to everything. Will definitely return!

Home is well appointed. Nice upgrades throughout. Beds were very comfortable and the unit is quiet. All the beach toys you need. Kitchen is large and the outdoor grills were nice. The grounds keepers clean grills daily. Along with raking the beach sand and cleaning the pools. The complex has security gates all around. The salt water pool is the highlight of the complex. Late evening float and swim with the waves crashing about 20 yards away. The sunsets are superb. Early morning coffee watching the outrigger paddlers go by. Easy drive to downtown Kona but a bit of a walk. Central location to the West end of Hawaii. Bring your own sugar and coffee. Most of the cooking spices are there but some were out in the spice rack. Water pressure not the best and hot water in the unit was more warm. Easy to overlook the little things because I love this complex. Made new friends every night for sunset appreciation hour. Parking is 1st come but usually I could get close to our unit. Loved having a bottom condo. Just a short walk to the pools and common area. Garden views were amazing. We were house hunting to relocate to the Big Island. Short drive to some of the best snorkeling in all of Hawaii. Mahalo for an amazing stay.

Property was as advertised on VRBO. Sunsets were very nice to watch each evening by the ocean. There was even a resident there who would blow his Conch right at sunset.

Need to have a sense of adventure and want to become one with the geckos in the house and the wild pigs in the neighborhood with loud frog serenades at night. The streets are VERY steep, so if elderly or have limitations might want to rethink this area. The sunsets on the lanai are the best! There's a "screened in" lanai, and our girls slept out there most of the time. If you are a princess and a neat nick like me, you might want to stay in a nice, sealed condo in town. Snorkeling and swimming at bottom of the hill and another beach very near.

Once again we have enjoyed our stay at Casa de Emdeko.
It's a great place to stay especially when you are on the ground floor and can sit in the common area with the BBQ's, Tiki torches and fabulous view of the ocean!
Our unit was clean and fairly well equipped. Just remember to bring your own favorite spices, salt and pepper etc. We do recommend this unit!

Nice older property with very beautiful grounds. Unit was nice, with a well equipped kitchen. Only negatives was the hot water was shut off for about a day, and the air conditioning was also down for a day and night. Overall it worked good for what we needed.

The condo was perfect! It was comfortable and clean. Even a few extra amenities (dish soap, cooking supplies, beach chairs, etc.) we did not expect.

Nice condo with fun social scene in common area for dinner and sunset.
The condo was great for the 4 of us with easy, ground floor access to the common patio, pool and beach area. We enjoyed the social scene with all the tables on the patio filled each evening with people gathering for dinner and/or drinks ahead of sunset. Easy instructions and great communication for directions and checkin/parking pass. We found everything we needed for our stay and meal prep too.

Nice Condo by the Ocean.
Nice place to stay but their were a few things needed. A privacy door for for the Master Bathroom and a musty odor when we walked in. TV's in bedrooms were for steaming only no cable Liked staying on the first floor. Very clean inside. Had a good time in the pools and beach.

Great Condo
We arrived 30 minutes early, but we were able to enter anyway. The condo was everything we expected and more. We were very pleased with the large and fully equipped kitchen. The bath towels were plush and plentiful. The bathrooms and kitchen have all been tastefully remodeled. We especially enjoyed the central air conditioning during our stay. The overall decor is nice, the walk out ground level lanai has the closest vicinity to the pool, lounging area and BBQ's in the entire property. You should put this condo at the top of your list for this reason alone. An added bonus is the resident who provided a nightly sunset Conch ritual at the waters edge.
We would definitely rent this unit again in the future.

Great location Bad mix of residents
The property was in a great location and the 2 pools were amazing. The property inside is a little dated and comfort was average of the beds. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes, etc. The property grounds were very well maintained. Now the bad the combination of old retired owners, renters time shares is a rough mix and not very welcoming. The “old” people make this not a very family friendly environment and would only recommend to singles couples or other retirees!!! The condo it self I would rent again If at a different location. Sorry condo owner it’s not you, it’s them...

Lovely waterfront property and well appointed condo
We had everything we needed for cooking at home including a rice cooker and blender! The condo is clean and comfortable. There’s plenty of room to set up a cot or two in the living/dining area if you need more than the two bedrooms. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Both pools are nice... kind of small but still nice. The full time residents are friendly so long as you are respectful of their home. They gather in the courtyard for a conch shell blowing sunset ritual every evening. It is quite charming but be advised that things get quiet very shortly thereafter so if you’re looking for a party, this wouldn’t be the place. I will definitely stay here again. I loved it!

We had a great time at the condo the room and the property was beautiful. The salt water pool was fun but it's a older community and a lot of the resident were unwelcoming to kiddos doing anything in the pool.

Wonderful Getaway! Quiet, Beautiful, Great Location
The property was wonderfully situated. The property is in a great location close to food, stores, sites. And it sits right on the oceanfront with a tremendous view. We saw dolphins, whales, and fish. The lanai was so peaceful and pleasant and the pool was awesome. The property was clean and spacious. The two bedrooms with two bathrooms was perfect and with the two rollaways, we were more than comfortable (one quick suggestion - maybe a small upgrade the rollaway mattresses would be huge in terms of supporting slightly older kids). The kitchen was great as we prepared our meals several nights and it was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and cookware. To complement the kitchen, the property itself has grills that you can use (which we did) and that was great. WiFi worked great and the TV was super (although to be fair, the property is so awesome next to the ocean that you don't need to watch too much TV. :) The complex itself is wonderful. It is quiet and well maintained, beautiful landscaping and the full time residents were so nice. We had such a relaxed vacation that we will be sure to return to the Casa and to this property!

Great Location
Loved the condo. Really enjoyed the location. I always stay at The Casa De Emdeko when I visit the Big Island. The only problem we had was the water pressure in the condo was horrible :(( It was REALLY difficult to shower and wash our hair (Everyone in the condo had LONG hair) and do dishes. But other then that....It was great!

A friend recommend this condo 136. There was 6 of using this condo. We all loved the property and condo location. We all highly recommend this condo. Very friendly people and the condo was very clean and equipped most anything you may need. I’m sure we will be back again. Thank you Casa de Emdeko. The best 60th birthday I could have ever had.

Casa De Emdeko is the perfect location for a quiet and relaxing vacation. Clean and safe, close to town and the "sandy beach" area is the perfect place to enjoy sunsets.

Wonderful vacation condo
The condo was very nice. It had everything you could ever need. Clean, great location and beautiful view. Perfect distance for all amentities. Inside newly updated. Would love ceiling fan in extra bedroom. Beds were fine but pillow tops would be a bonus. This condo was comfortable and fit all our needs. AC was great!!

Cozy, clean beach condo in perfect location
I was extremely happy with my stay here!
Before our arrival we receive numerous very helpful emails confirming our reservation, with details for our arrival, and from the concierge with helpful tips as well as options to book activities in advance. I have to say the concierge service was an absolute game changer! David was even better than a hotel concierge and personalized our experience - helping us with every activity and question that we had! Having this service made it a no brainer that I would return.
The condo itself is in a super ideal location - a short drive (or walk depending on time of day) from town. We found it very easy to get to the beaches, restaurants, bars, marina, etc. We also had parking outside the unit which made it easy to get in and out of the building.
The unit itself was very clean and beach-but feeling! The two bedrooms each had large beds and nice, big TVs and fans. The TVs had roku hooked up so we could watch all our favorite shows and movies (honestly didn't check if there was cable but probably is!). The living room / dinning room / kitchen is an open floor plan which made it easy to host a lot of people and feel very home-y. The kitchen had all utensils we needed and everything was clean. We could open the door from the living room and we had a patio that we could use to walk out to the pool / sand / outdoor bar area. At night there are tiki torches that were lit and made it feel very Hawaiian when we shared a bottle of wine at the community tables. The pool itself is large and pretty too - right over the cliff of the ocean!
Definitely would recommend and plan to stay there again.

Def going back!
We just got back from our delightful stay in Casa de Emdeko , unit 136. The place was immaculate, lower floor which means instant access to both pools, the BBQ', the roaring ocean and its dreamy view: in short, perfect! It was nice and quiet too, well located to the little village of Kailua/kona (short walk to Bongo Bens for breakfast and Huggos for Mai tais!)
Actually, there was access to most anything you need for a great vacation. Telling all my family and friends about this reasonably priced gem.

The rental at Casa de Emdeko was just like the photos. Very big and clean with plenty of amenities. We cooked one meal in and had everything we needed. We used one one of the communal grills and found it very easy to go back and forth from the room since it was located right outside the room. The pool and beach were perfect for when we did not want to drive to find a beach. And not crowded at all. There are many shoreline access points nearby though. It is a little far to walk to the shops/restaurants in Kona but that was not a issue for us. We did have some AC issues during our stay. Management was responsive and even brought us some fans. We found cell phone service was non-existent inside, I assume because of the building construction type. It was easy to hook up to the internet and use that for phone calls (or go outside). Wi-fi was great throughout the apartment. I would recommend this place!

We found the unit just as described. There was plenty of room for the four of us, the kitchen was well stocked with amenities, wifi was fast, and the outdoor space is terrific. The location of the unit on the ground floor near the bbq station, pool and sandy area was ideal for us. We loved watching the sun go down, grilling and eating outside! Housekeeping did a nice job. Everything was clean and in order when we arrived. As mentioned in previous reviews, there is a musty smell and the carpets in the bedrooms could use updating, but all in all we enjoyed our stay and would return.

Location was good. Very quiet in the evenings. The building property was clean and pretty. The actual unit#136 was a nice large condo. Plenty of room. I would suggest that the owner put some money towards cleaning. Like shampoo the bedroom carpets, have the floors mopped and coat of fresh paint would be a huge improvement. The room smells pretty bad if the Windows are closed. Very musty smelling. Just needs some TLC. Also I think they could spring for a new bed.

the condo and Casa De Emdeko property was ideal for what we wanted. We were able to go everywhere easily. While some upgrades to the condo would be appreciated, it was very clean. I would definitely go back. Wonderful to eat in the commons area and watch the whales. Everyone was very friendly.
