Camp Owl's Nest at The Whiteface Club & Resort on Lake Placid

This was the perfect house for our family ski trip. The pictures online just don’t do it justice! Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and perfectly located. We had the best time and truly cannot wait to go back!

We had an incredible stay! The house is absolute perfection. We celebrated Christmas with our family here and loved having two kitchens and living spaces so that we had a place to gather when our baby was asleep in the master bedroom. The house is stunning- the pictures don’t do it justice. It is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. We were happily surprised by the 3 Christmas trees! The beds are incredibly comfortable, the fireplaces are beautiful, and the view of lake placid is awesome. It’s the perfect mountain mansion!

My family of 6 + infant had a perfect mid-summer vacation. Camp Owl's Nest is a unique property that combines a rustic cabin experience with elegant accommodations.The included membership to the Whiteface Club & Resort is a super perk. We worked a lot into 4 days: golf, tennis, fly fishing, hiking, sightseeing and fine dining. Only complaint: interior lighting is too dim.

Beautiful cabin type property minutes from town! What I think I loved the most about the property is the upstairs and downstairs can be basically separate, so if you have a younger audience they can do their own thing and come in and out of the home without disturbing who's upstairs. Loved it

We had the most amazing time. The place is huge and beautifully decorated with top of the line amenities. The outdoor screened in room with a large stone fireplace was my favorite. It was raining while we were there so it allowed us to be outside, but stay warm and cozy. I could go on an on about how top notch Owl's Nest is. Andrew, the owner, was so pleasant to speak with. I can't wait to go back again!

As an after the holidays get together for our family, every expectation was met. The house was beautiful, impeccably maintained, and very user friendly. All of the amenities were clear for our use. The staples that were provided helped us not use ours that we packed, but we replaced for the next lucky family to have as well. The child gates were greatly appreciated as our inquisitive grandchildren wanted to explore. It gave us an opportunity to keep them safe and on the same level with us when needed. Definitely a top notch home that is clearly loved by all! Absolutely gorgeous covered in snow, but we look forward to renting again in the fall to enjoy even more of what the area has to offer.

Camp Owl's Nest worked nicely for our family time in Lake Placid. Having upstairs and downstairs bedrooms was very helpful for keeping a quiet space for young grandchildren. It was a pleasure to be so close to the lake in addition to our hiking outings.

Beautiful spacious Lake Placid retreat
Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Camp Owl's Nest.
Pros:
Spacious, new/remodeled decor, fireplaces and outdoor spaces, quiet, access to beach and lake, great golfing and tennis, easy to get into town and parking lots for shuttle access (we were there for the Ironman.) The view of the lake is peaceful, and proximity to hiking trails was great, too.
Cons:
Propane tank was out so we replaced it. There is no a/c in the downstairs rooms, only fans. The fifth room with two double beds is actually an open loft space, just something to consider if you need privacy.

Beautiful Home!!
We had a wonderful weekend! The house is even prettier in person. It is very well located-with access to cross country skiing and snowshoeing included with the rental. It was our second time renting the house and we would love to do so again soon.

We had a wonderful time up in Lake Placid! The house was beautiful! It was incredibly comfortable and had a great location - convenient to downtown and skiing. Andrew and Judy were very responsive to emails/messages. We would definitely consider staying there again!

Great Family weekend
This property exceeded all expectations! The photos don’t do the actual home justice! If you want a “lodge” experience, this is the place to go! All the furnishings were so comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. The views were fantastic! Would definitely stay again! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!

Log Cabin meets the Taj Mahal!
World class place in a world class location! And when I say class, I mean extra classy and top notch decor, furniture and amenities. Breathtaking views of the lake. Super spacious. Sleeps 10 comfortably as we gathered 2+ families to spend Thanksgiving together. With the multiple floors (and multiple kitchens) it was plenty of room to gather, spend time together, yet still spread out and find time and space to relax. Our focus was family time for the holiday, but the Village, dining, and outdoor activities are all just a minute away!
We were blessed with 7”+ of snow during our stay, which only made it more picturesque and beautiful. Timely snow removal was provided, as was plenty of fire wood for cozy evenings.
Highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Worth coming back at different times of the year for the varied activities.

Wedding weekend in Lake Placid
The amazing property was conveniently located to the Whiteface Club where our daughter's wedding was held. It is ultra-comfortable and was a wonderful home-away-from-home for our weekend celebration. Highly recommended!

Fantastic property for a family retreat..
Having access to golf, beach/marina and tennis was a great bonus… The house was perfect, split across three floors with two separate kitchens made things spacious and allowed everyone to have room for themselves.. Pictures don’t do it justice.. It’s a beautiful property!

If I was an owl, I'd definitely nest here!
Skillfully constructed, beautifully decorated, every amenity is provided. Owners were gracious and friendly. We've stayed at other properties at the WFC, but this one was by far the best!

Great House in a Great Location
We were a family of eight - 6 adults, two children (12 and 2). The house was spacious, well-equipped and the outdoor porch with fireplace made our dinners and evenings memorable. The access to the Whiteface Resort is a tremendous benefit. We enjoyed golf, tennis, swimming, kayaking and dinner at the marina. The house provided a great family vacation.

Owls nest, June
What a beautiful lodge situated in a lovely, scenic area,.My friends and I were there to fly fish, the location is very convenient for this and town is around the corner.
It is well appointed, elegant but rustic and very comfortable. The screened in porch has what I think is a rumford fireplace and was a big hit with us.
Our hosts Andrew and Judy were more than accommodating.
Check in /check out was a breeze. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed it and have begun comtemplating our next trip

Wonderful Stay at Camp Owl's Nest!
We had a great vacation at Camp Owl's Nest! Andrew and Judy are wonderful hosts. Our stay was Monday to Friday of Presidents Week. Two families - four adults and three teenagers. Plenty of room for everyone! Spacious yet cozy and very well-appointed. Also (and very importantly) this house is SPOTLESS! The cleanest vacation rental we have ever had by far! Really impeccable. The location is also perfect - within the Whiteface Resort and just 5 minutes from Lake Placid village. During our stay, we skated the Oval and played pond hockey on Mirror Lake; and went snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and skiing. We love Lake Placid and now we're so happy to have found a rental we can return to again and again! Hope to visit Camp Owl's Nest again in the summer, and next winter for sure!

Nice weekend in Lake Placid
We had a great weekend in Lake Placid. The home was nicer than the pictures portrayed. The 9 of us were very comfortable. Nice views of the lake, close proximity to the jackrabbit trail as well as access to the nordic ski trails on the golf course made it a perfect location while being only a few minutes to town and under 30 minutes to whiteface mountain. Would definitely stay again, maybe we will try the summer months next time.

Excellent family stay! Beautiful house and location!
It was an amazing Thanksgiving stay with our family. The house has a great Lake Placid view and is in the middle of the resort (in the residential area). We were in 10 people and slept comfortably. House is really well equipped and is even better than the pictures. The high ceiling, 3 fireplaces (one being outside at a closed porch) and the open floor plant are great for a family gathering. The owners are super nice and always available to help or respond to any questions.

Excellent property, I would highly recommend it.
The property is beautiful, even nicer than the photos on the website. It was super clean, plenty of linens and towels, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds. Everything was perfect. The outdoor fireplace on the screened in porch with a view of the lake and mountains was absolutely wonderful. Access to the golf course, tennis courts, hiking, and marina were an added bonus. The location is perfect-close to stores and shops but still have a quiet, private setting. We had excellent communication with the owners. Our family of 12 stayed for 4 nights and they said it was the best vacation ever. And, our daughter got engaged in front of the awesome fireplace which made it even more special. We hope to return someday. Thank you for a memorable time.
