La nostra casa sulla spiaggia con tre camere da letto e il suo studio hanno ricevuto il nome di Hale Nani Ma Ka Lihi Kai che significa "Bella casa sull'orlo dell'oceano". È stato dato da Kumu Hula (insegnante di hula) che ci visita ogni anno. Portano la loro Halau (scuola di ballerini e musicisti) a Hilo ogni anno per partecipare al World Famous Merrie Monarch Hula Festival.
La nostra ristrutturata casa sulla spiaggia a due piani Kama'aina con tre camere da letto e studio adiacente è molto popolare tra le famiglie numerose che vogliono andare in vacanza insieme ma hanno unità individuali per periodi privati.
C'è anche un grande gazebo esterno per grigliare e mangiare. Le famiglie si godono le serate qui mentre cenano e ascoltano l'oceano.
Le unità al piano di sopra e monolocali dotati di aria condizionata. L'unità al piano di sotto non ha aria condizionata ma è molto fresca per tutto il giorno e la sera. Tutte le unità hanno ventilatori a soffitto in tutto. Ogni unità ha il suo patio e vi è un ampio patio esterno in comune con posti a sedere e una griglia. Ci sono vista sull'oceano e sul giardino dal patio al piano superiore e portico anteriore ed è a pochi passi da spiagge, piscine di marea e litorale oceanico.
La casa sulla spiaggia al piano superiore offre una cucina completa e bagno, una camera da letto, due zone soggiorno (una con un divano letto matrimoniale futon) e un ampio patio con vista su un laghetto e giardino. Anche se, ci sono ventilatori a soffitto in tutto, l'aria condizionata è disponibile per quelle notti calde tropicali anche. Il piano inferiore offre una zona cucina con forno a microonde, frigorifero e altri piccoli elettrodomestici, un soggiorno e sala da pranzo, bagno completo con doccia, piccoli e grandi patii all'aperto e camere da letto una con un letto full size e l'altra un letto matrimoniale.
Una passerella collega l'unità studio con una cucina completa, soggiorno e sala da pranzo e bagno con doccia. Questa unità con aria condizionata offre anche un letto matrimoniale e divano letto futon full size.
Ci sono TV via cavo attraverso i vivi e camere da letto con TV a grande schermo nelle zone giorno.

Perfect for our group of ladies in Hilo for a two week competition. There are lots of separate indoor and outdoor living spaces and the shore is just steps away. Claudia was a great host. All of the units were very thoughtfully appointed and well supplied. The beds are comfy, the place was immaculate and in very good repair. We would book there again.

We had a wonderful stay - the property is beautiful, spacious and includes so many extras to make your stay even more wonderful. We enjoyed relaxing in the lanai and the kids were excited to use the beach equipment. Highly recommend!!

We arrived at the property and was so pleasantly surprised that it was so much more than expected! My daughter and husband arrived first, I got a text saying, “this place is AWESOME!” When my son and his family arrived, he too said this place is much nicer than expected. It had everything needed, kitchens so we’ll stocked, we will definitely return. Host was very responsive when emailed with questions, A/C worked in all rooms, and we were so very comfortable.

We had a wonderful time there, what a great place to stay comfortable. If you have a big family this place has lots of room and private. With all the separate accommodations. This property is better than the pictures depict. Lots of privacy and just steps away from the beach. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Our favorite parts were the singing frogs and multiple outdoor spaces. We plan to visit again.

The three separate living quarters were great. Having a common outdoor area to sit & talk or cook on grill or just sit alone to read was used by all. We had seven adults and each one were thrilled to have time to themselves or join in a group to walk five minutes to beach for great photo ops.

The photos did not do this property justice. We were blown away by the cleanliness, quietness and overall enjoyable atmosphere. We divided our family between this home and another in Hilo. We spent together time here on the patio for a reason. We will definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting Hilo.

Great for our party of 10 three families total had their own space and the outside area was a great gathering place. The home was clean and well maintained with close proximity to kid friendly beaches.
The bread and bananas waiting for us were a big hit.
The cove was peaceful and just a short walk from the house.
Highly recommend this location especially if you need separate areas for multiple families.
Only issue was the vacation was not long enough.

Beautiful, well appointed property for large family or several smaller groups. We had 7 adults and two toddlers and rented all three units. Units were well decorated, comfortable and clean. Grounds were beautiful and very usable. Lots of comfortable spots to sit or eat outside. Property within walking distance of beautiful little beach park. Would definitely stay here again.

Hilo Rain Forest Experience
Claudia’s sweet home is a perfect place for a large family or a group traveling together. After a day of exploring the Volcano National Park or hiking in the rain forest to a beautiful coastal bluff it was so nice to come “home” to Hale Nani Ma Ka Lihi Kai. Lovely amenities both inside and out. The home is well stocked and has lots of beach equipment available. Sweet touches like taro bread and bananas left for guests. Thank you so much Claudia!!

Lush tropical setting near scenic pocket beach
The house is quintessential Hawaiian and perfect for our group of six adults with its three separate units (and outdoor private bathroom!). The grounds, full of coconut palms, papaya trees, pineapples and orchids, is idyllic. A small beach is just steps away, a beautiful place to take a dip during high tide or explore at low tide.

Really enjoyed the property, especially the outdoor space. The set up was perfect for our adult family, with 3 separate "units" for the family members to spread out and have a little room. Unfortunately we had rain our entire stay, but had it not, we would have taken advantage of the large lawn space more.

Great place
This is an excellent VRBO. The house is very clean, comfortable, and well equipped without being fussy. We were a group of six and there was plenty of room, both to gather and to have your own area.
The yard is beautiful and there is plenty of outdoor space. The location is great. The owners always responded promptly from booking through checkout.

Awesome Stay! Awesome location!
We really enjoyed our stay at Hale Nani Ma Ka Lihi Kai! House was so immaculate and had everything we needed! We loved the studio and was happy that each family had their own space. We also loved the pavilion and how close we were to the beach! Claudia was so responsive to all our questions, check in was a breeze! We wish our trip lasted longer! Loved it all and hope we can return again in the future!

A little piece of paradise!
This was a great way for our family to be together while having our own spaces. It was just a walk to the end of the dead-end street to the most beautiful view of the ocean. Claudia is fantastic. When we arrived, our plane came in late, but she called when we landed to let us know that we would need to take a different route to get to the house. She's very communicative (unlike the other property we rented). We loved all of the outdoor spaces to have dinner or sit on the porch to have coffee first thing in the morning. I loved our stay here!

Pleasant spot
This house has everything you need. They provide plenty of towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkel gear, a beautiful space to grill. Volcano National park is just 30 min away and rainbow falls is only 15 min away.

Excellent Hilo property - with one very significant caveat!
Great property for staying in Hilo. A short walk to the rocky coastline with tidepools for keiki and a short drive to the extraordinary dining, shopping, parks, and beaches of downtown Hilo. There is a very nice outdoor covered patio area and excellent through the wall AC in all rooms.
The upstairs1BR is quite nice and was our gathering place for inside meals and conversation. The downstairs 2BR is a bit cavelike - fine for sleeping but no one wanted to hang out there. The Studio we didn't get to see despite the info in the listing.
Which brings me to the caveat. Nowhere in the listing does it say that you won't be given access to the entire property if you don't meet the owner's expectation on number of guests - she rented out the studio to someone else during our stay.
We expected to put our eldest daughter in the studio. We had dreams of putting my wife's mom in the studio but didn't really believe she would be able to join us on the Big Island in these COVID ridden times until we met her at HNL. But when we arrived we found that our keycode didn't work on the studio. So our daughter very kindly slept on the sofa in the downstairs living room.
I honestly don't know how you would book this property if you have 4-5 people and expect to get the entire place without other guests in the studio.

House was in very cool location, just a 2 minute walk to the ocean. Awesome free diving area.
We had a really good time, very clean, gazebo was awesome to eat under in the evening rain. Grilled fresh fish from the market just a few minutes down the road.
The owners checked on us a few times to make sure we had everything we wanted.

Perfect spot in Hilo
Location here was fantastic! You could walk to the close beach or drive very short distances to black sand beaches and fantastic snorkeling. It was close to town and farmers markets. We did volcano national park and got there in 40 min. The house had plenty of space with so many convenient appliances for cooking at home. The place was very clean. Communication with the owner was great and she was happy and helpful! I would definitely bring my family back!

Beautiful
Immaculate property with every amenity you can think of. So many patios and a/c coolers in every room. We loved catching toads and falling asleep to the Coqui frog sounds. The gazebo was amazing. Every switch in the house is labelled for clarity. Beach is easily accessible at end of street. Sea turtle seen swimming in nearby lagoon. Wish it hadn't rained every day but it's Hilo!

Absolutely Fantastic Home
We were a group of 6 and it was the perfect location. The property had 3 different living spaces that perfectly accommodated the 3 groups of 2 that we had. We were able to grill each night in the gazebo and enjoy the beautiful weather. The beach is seconds from the house and we walked down each morning to watch the waves crash on the rocks. The neighbors brought us fresh fruit from their trees which was so kind. I loved this house and location would recommend it to anyone who wants a quite residential location with multiple living spaces, beach next door, and a 10 minute drive to downtown Hilo. Thank you so much, we are so grateful for the time and space provided!!

Paradise in the Jungle!
The home had every amenity you could think of, it was perfect for family gatherings. It rained daily while we were there, but watching the rain with a coffee or cocktail in hand from many of the outdoor covered areas was enjoyable. The property was filled with fruit trees, plants and flowers. The frog chirps came out in the evenings, and the geckos joined us outside daily, we enjoyed their company. According to our 5 and 8 year old grand kids, it was the "BEST Vacation home ever"! We all agreed, Mahalo!

Great for family or friends stay
I booked this place for my family visiting. They enjoyed their stay here and said “ better than the resort in Kona”. There is a wonderful BBQ gazebo here. Hilo has nice rainy weather sometimes but no problem, you can have BBQ anytime. There are beautiful beaches around the place. Only few steps to take to the nearest one! The units are clean and comfy, the yard is well maintained. I would like to recommend this place for other people too.

Lovely property
This property was perfect for our group of 7. Everyone had there own unit with a kitchen yet we could congregate at the outdoor bbq area for dinner. A small beach was a two minute stroll with lots of shade. Very close to old Hilo. We loved it !!

Hilo Haven
Our family of 7 enjoyed our stay at this property very much. The check in and out process was easy, the property was immaculate, the kitchenettes were well stocked, the beds were so comfortable, and everything was in working order. Aloha location
Nestled in a quiet location with easy access to the beach, Hilo and the airport. Our family used and enjoyed all three units . We especially loved the decks and covered patios, the short walk to the beach and nearby restaurants. I highly recommend this property, even if you need only one of the three units. It is nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and beautifully landscaped.
