The good - hot tub was nice, clean, private. Beach parking with pass was very convenient and very short walk after parking. Water was the most clear I’ve ever seen at obx. Neighborhood very quiet and there was a beach cart to bring stuff to the beach easier.
The kinda bad - mattresses weren't great. The walk to the beach from the house isn’t bad, but to say it’s a 5 min leisurely walk is inaccurate. Says bathrooms come with towels, which was later clarified as hand towels, but for our stay, there was neither. Also, the house was a little smaller than I envisioned from the pics.
The ugly - We like streaming movies at night when our families get together at obx but the WiFi is almost non existent. Never measured higher than 1MB/sec and mostly hovered around 100-200 kbs. So streaming was out. We informed the hosts right away, called spectrum ourselves (twice) when they didn’t immediately offer to resolve the problem themselves. The hosts reminded us that books, board games and some dvds are available. They did set up an appointment with spectrum to have it looked into afterwards but it doesnt sound like the problem has been resolved yet as spectrum said their lines are fine so I assume it’s a problem with the router but I’m no technician, I just know it didn’t work well for any of us the entire time.
So lots of good things and a few minor bad things and then the WiFi which is really bad. Once they fix the WiFi I would recommend it to others, no problem.

Had a wonderful time at the Outer Banks. This was our first time at the Outer Banks and we loved the house and the beach. The property we rented was a great central location. We loved that we did not have to take chairs, boogie boards etc. Also, loved seeing all the deer in our neighborhood. Carol was very easy to work with and always answered any questions in a timely manner. Would definitely rent this property again.

The house was as described in the listing. Very spacious and in good condition as well. Bath towels/kitchen towels are not included (sheets and blankets are). Owner did notify me via email after I booked that towels were not included, however, I think it should be stated in the listing. Other than that, we had no issues. It was a nice house in a residential area. Walk to the beach was about 10 min. Beach was very nice and not crowded.

This was our second year staying at the Tides Inn. We were 2 families with young kids and we love this location. Beach access is a close walk or 5 minute drive plenty with of parking and a gust pass for the parking. Close to Duck and all the stores and restaurants and shopping. The house is clean comfortable and In a quiet location set back off the
road. Hot tub is a nice touch at the end of the Day , surround sound for the living room for family movie watching. Will stay here again. Carol ( Owner ) is super responsive and quick to answer any questions .

Tides Inn was perfect for our 2 family vacation! The teens loved the ability to go to and from the beach on foot themselves and the parents felt safe enough to allow it. We loved the property and closeness to the beach access and are already making plans to return! Beautiful and fun memories to last a lifetime! Thank You!

We enjoyed spending our vacation at the Tides Inn! It had all of the wonderful amenities we could ask for and more. We spent time in the hot tub, biked to the beach and all of the local shops, and to the marina to watch the beautiful sunset. The surrounding trees and woods provided solitude on the back deck where we spent several moonlit nights. Thank you for letting us spend our vacation at your beautiful home!

Amazing location, gorgeous home
Our group (4 adults, 2 infants) loved our stay at Tide's Inn. The house is absolutely gorgeous, well-stocked, and located super close to the beach. Carol was incredibly responsive and so nice when we had a small issue come up. We loved everything about Tide's Inn and would highly recommend it!

This was an excellent experience. Property was exactly as described , clean and plenty of room and quiet. beds were comfy and Location was excellent , close to the beach to walk or parking passes for the parking area at hill crest if you want to drive , which was never full always plenty of parking. Close to shopping and markets in Duck . Carol was very easy to work with answered all our questions very quickly .

Outer Banks Adventure
A great place to stay near Duck, a cute town of great restaurants and fun shopping. Can walk safely to beach or a parking permit was provided. Never had a problem parking and access was right at a lifeguard station. A very clean, nicely stocked home with hot tub. Very enjoyable.

Excellent Beach House
This is a beautiful property! It is well maintained and seems like a new property even though it is a few years old. We thoroughly enjoyed the location--close to the beach and the sound. We could walk to the beach, but enjoyed having parking passes when we didn't feel like trekking. Very nice! I would stay here again.

Lovely how
Even better than pics! Sparkling clean, bright and open. Quiet, private, and peaceful natural setting. Just a few things we loved: the outdoor shower, all the windows which bring in a lot of light and nice views of trees, the spacious kitchen- how great to have a full pantry to stash your groceries, the new clean bathrooms, and the tv sound system. The layout of house, bedrooms, and 3 decks plus table by hot tub give more than enough options to spread out and have different spaces to relax. The lot at Hillcrest was super easy and nice to have lifeguarded beach yet not crowded. This was our first stay in Southern Shores. We loved being close to restaurants and shops in Kitty Hawk or Duck but enough away to the enjoy the natural surroundings.

Amazing Stay at Tides Inn
We stay this past week and cannot say enough about the home. Upon entering the home was very clean and well appointed. Loved open concept upstairs allowing the whole family to be together. Deck was great off the family space and wonderful to welcome in the mornings. Kitchen well stocked for all needs. Just enough towels were provided for full baths. I would recommend bringing a few extra hand towels in your luggage. Bed upstairs was very comfortable but family felt downstairs master bed was quite firm. Home was incredibly well stocked for the beach with chairs, boogie boards, some sand toys. Location was fantastic! Easy drive to great parking lot and beach access with showers and lifeguard. 10 minute bike ride to Duck and though located in quiet neighborhood location was not too far from great restaurants and shopping. Lastly the hot tub was a wonderful option to relax some more after returning from the beach. All in all our stay was 5 stars and hope to return in the upcoming year. Highly recommend this home for your family vacation!!!

OBX Family fun
This was a great house for our family of 7. It was clean, had a very well stocked kitchen, including blender, waffle maker, drink dispenser. A perfect kitchen for cooking! We really enjoyed staying there. There were plenty of beach chairs, boogie boards and a semi broken but useable umbrella. There was a nice deck we used every night and it was in a lovely neighborhood - great for walking/running.
There is a nice beach right across Hillcrest, up the street, which was nice when the traffic was bad on Duck road. The beach is steep so at high tide there isn’t much beach left. We also went to a beach in Duck and one in Corolla which were lovely.
The only minor criticism would be that the house is in need of nice sheets and pillows and also the large couch is very uncomfortable. But other than that there were no complaints. We had a wonderful time.

We loved our stay. This is the perfect location - a short walk or ride to the beach and to nearby shops and restaurants but in a quiet peaceful neighborhood. House was relaxing and had everything we needed. The hot tub was a great way to unwind at night. Highly recommend!!

Bedrock Road Beach Dwellers
The property manager was exceptional and the property was simply spotless. We were very happy with the rental in every way and would highly recommend it. The furnishing, equipment, utensils, supplies, etc., were all obviously very were thought out to make anyone's vacation a very delightful experience.

Great beach trip!
The property was very clean still smelled like a new home and the furnishings and decor were very well done. The only thing our family would have like would be cable in all rooms where there are TV's, but we like a lot of different things to watch at the same time as well as a listing of channels. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property. It's very close to the beach, light houses and Wright Memorial. Thank you for letting us have a great vacation!

Perfect Beach Get-away
As many others have commented, this is a fantastic vacation home. Rare do you find newly built, quality construction at a reasonable price...in such a great location. Hello, we really enjoyed our stay at your new beach house. This is a very quiet family oriented neighborhood. The beach was within walking distance to the home. The hot tub and outdoor grill came in handy. Plenty of room for at least 8 adults, very comfortable just like home. The house is just beautiful inside and out! Several nearby attractions, good restaurants. All around a wonderful vacation! We would like to come back again next summer. Thank you so much Carol!

Nice new home, but.....detailed review to follow
Overall we enjoyed our stay and were most thankful that we found this home available during peak season, on short notice. We rent vacation homes frequently and this home was nice, but came up short on some things.
Upon arrival the home was not as clean and well maintained as we would have liked. The carpets upstairs were not vacuumed, even saw half eaten crackers under the couch. The counters and table were barely wiped off. We saw mold dangling from the faucet in the upstairs half bath, upstairs master shower was dirty and all the toilets had rings around them by the 3rd day. We had to vacuum and clean before we could use the space upstairs. Wifi was ok upstairs, spotty downstairs and nearly no connection outside. The AC temp was locked out at 72. Would have been nice to have it a bit cooler upstairs. The downstairs master mattress is horrible! Don't sleep there, so uncomfortabe.
Location was wonderful, but finding it was a bit difficult. The property is overgrown with weeds and the street number is tucked down the drive compaired to all the other homes. Volleyball/cornhole areas have super soft sand, but overgrown with weeds making the playing areas smaller.
Provided was everything for badmitten, corn hole, volleyball, beach chairs/toys, boogie boards, outdoor grilling area, clothesline, games for kids/adults inside, crayons, reading books, even a radio and small cooler. We enjoyed the hot tub and it was even cleaned/maintained midweek. The outdoor changing area was above average, private (door and lock!) even had a bench for changing and a small hanging rack for clothes. Can't go wrong with a full washer and dryer! Having parking passes for beach access was awesome, we never had to worry about parking being available. The lifeguards were always very friendly and the beach not crowded. Plus there were portapotties and showers to rinse off before getting into the car.
The sound system upstairs was unexpected, we enjoyed music and evening movies. The fridge is huge, but ice maker does not work, ice trays are provided. Dishwasher is top notch. Lots of blankets, sheets, towels and extra pillows. Could use more hand towels, pillowcases, washcloths and curtains in the dining area. Diningtable its sturdy, as are the stools for the hightop counter. Bunk bed room is hot and sunny. Twin bed room has a deck off it, this was concerning for us as we had young children.
We did enjoy our stay, just had some bumps along the way. We would stay here again.
