The anchorage exceeded our expectations. This is a beautiful house with all the amenities you need with a wonderful location. Tony is great and very responsive. We can’t wait to hopefully stay here again!

We had such a great stay at the Anchorage! The location was the best part of it for us and we loved walking to everything all week. All of the spaces in the home were awesome - lounging, sleeping, relaxing, showers were awesome, and the kitchen was really set up well for cooking - I’ve never seen a rental so well supplied, for every possible need we could have, and the espresso maker was a real treat. Tony was very responsive and I can’t find a bad thing to say- highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay in Charlevoix! The home was perfect for our family of six, complete with a fully (and I mean fully!) stocked kitchen, three lovely bedrooms and multiple nicely renovated bathrooms. Everything was impeccably clean. The landscaping outside and the sweet decor inside made it really feel like home. Tony is a wonderful host and even left a thoughtful welcome gift. Walk to town, minutes from beaches, it’s the perfect place to stay!

We had an incredible time at The Anchorage! Pictures truly don’t do it justice, the property is beautiful and has everything you could ever ask for and more. The host was incredible and the location was outstanding! We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay near downtown Charlevoix. We can’t wait to book our next trip back!

My family and I really enjoyed this home. Our stay was 4 nights and each day was excellent. The short walk to downtown was a huge plus and we enjoyed all that Charlevoix had to offer. We will be back very soon!

For the past 20 years, my family and I have stayed at a hotel in Bay Harbor. Our tradition was sadly cut this year when the rates of the hotel had doubled. I quickly scrambled around online and found this property, which was located very close to downtown Charlevoix. I was slightly apprehensive about breaking tradition, but did not want to disappoint my children by saying that we were not going to Northern Michigan. I will never stay in the hotel property again, as this beautiful Charlevoix home prove to be one of the most incredible property rentals I have stayed at anywhere in the world. The owner, Tony, met us at the door and greeted us with kindness. Inside his beautiful home, the level of detail was found in every nook and cranny. We never had to contact him for any reason, since the house was well equipped with everything that one needed to feel like they were inside of their own home. Our family commented on a daily basis how beautiful the house was and how much fun they were having. Charlevoix is going to be our new place from now on! It was quite possibly one of the best rentals that I have ever stayed in.

The house was beautifully decorated and super clean beyond what I can even describe, it felt like we were staying in a setting out of a magazine. The kitchen had everything you could ever need to prep meals and even had some basic food stocked in the pantry. Tony provided some toiletries just like a high-end hotel and even slippers for everyone. The backyard and deck with a huge firepit was surrounded by amazing landscaping and flowers and had a great private fence around the whole yard. The location was perfect for walking 1 block to downtown, 2 blocks to the beach and there was a handy food market right at the corner of the street. We walked everywhere easily! Tony was amazing host and we are already talking about going back to the house! Can not recommend enough!!

Tony was great ! Communicated with us prior to coming out to the home and the day of was on standby if there was any questions or anything that had to be answered which we really appreciated. The home location was nestled perfectly one block from downtown Charlevoix. Really cute up north home with a feeling of that special Americana tradition. Very clean and organized and had a feeling of homeliness to us. Wonderful stay!

This property was in the perfect location to walk to downtown, the grocery store, playgrounds and restaurants. While we enjoyed eating out and didn’t cook while we were there we did notice the kitchen was well equipped with anything you may need.

Wonderful home with everything we need.
This was the second consecutive year we stayed at Tony's for a week, and it was great! We especially like the location... a 10 minute walk to Lake Michigan, and a 4 minute walk to downtown and the grocery store. This was very convenient as we cooked all our meals in the fabulous kitchen. Other favorites: The espresso machine, the fire pit, the large dining tables (both on the deck and in the house), and the furnishings which were both nice AND comfortable.

Loved our time in northern Michigan
This beautiful house set the stage for a wonderful time in northern Michigan. The home was beautifully decorated, yet it was homey for all of us. The grandkids were in love with the bunk beds and the painted stairway. The adults enjoyed the claw-foot tub and the showers with never-ending hot water.

Fantastic Location and Property
The house itself was exactly as advertised in the pictures...it was super comfortable with a fabulous location (practically perfect). Just a short walk to a grocery store (Oleson's) which was super convenient, as well as downtown Charlevoix. In the opposite direction, just a few blocks away was Lake Michigan. The house itself was very clean and extremely well-stocked with all the essentials, plus some. When a problem arose, Tony was easy to contact, prompt in communicating and getting the problem taken care of. We would definitely rent this house again!

We loved our trip to Charlevoix and this beautiful historic home. Tony made us feel like we had a personal concierge, with the way that he reached out to us, but more importantly, how he had the house set up before we arrived. So much attention to detail and comfort...Keurig's in each guest room, so that you could enjoy a cup of coffee first thing in the morning...fully stocked house, pantry, wood for fire pit...High quality linens...luxurious beds...games... books about the area...and decor right out of a magazine. We are already planning a trip back to the area just to stay at this comfy, relaxing home. Thanks to Tony and his family.

Amazing house in the perfect location
We stayed at Tony’s beautiful home with some friends on our wedding weekend and could not have been more impressed. The location was excellent, in short walking distance to both downtown and Lake Michigan. The house itself is large, spacious and very comfortable. There are so many thoughtful, special touches that made it feel so homey. It is incredibly well equipped with almost anything you could possibly need during your stay. Tony was great to work with - we had originally booked our stay the year prior and had to move due to covid and he was so accommodating. He checked in periodically during the weekend to ensure we didn’t need anything. We can’t wait to return!

Beautiful home
The home and location was everything we had hoped for and more. The house was beautiful and super clean. The furnishings are the best quality. All bedrooms had a Keurig just a few blocks from the beach and the library. Two blocks from down town. The sunset at sunset he beach and firepit in the back yard was the perfect end to everyday. I would like to rent it every year

Just perfect!
Our family had such a wonderful time staying at this special home. It was charming, comfortable, beautifully appointed, and had everything we needed. We could not have asked for a better location...close to downtown, the lakes, grocery store and the lovely Charlevoix Library (a must visit)!!! We read through the book that detailed the restoration of this historical home by the owners and you could feel the love they put into the renovation. It's just perfect!!! We came home relaxed and happy!!!

Beautiful!
We loved the house and our stay. Great location! An easy walk to downtown Charlevoix - grocery store right down the street from the house. I use VRBO a few times a year and this has been hands down the most well thought out property out of them all. That speaks volumes for us because we have never had a bad stay anywhere. Tony is an awesome host. He thinks of everything and more! He went out of his way to drop off a gift card to a local restaurant when there was a very very small issue. We highly recommend this property and owner! Thanks for a great week.

Beautiful home away from home
This was our 3rd year vacationing in Charlevoix, and this was our favorite house yet. Our family (3 couples and 2 children) loved the location, so close to Oleson’s, Bridge Street and Lake Michigan. We really liked the beautiful decor, including the functional, well-stocked kitchen. We had fun using the fire pit stocked with enough wood for our stay. We appreciated the large dining tables both in the spacious dining room and outside on the deck. We also enjoyed Tony’s book illustrating his hard work remodeling this 1870’s home. The home is just as pictured and we highly recommend!

A Perfect Experience!!
The BEST!! Everything with regards to our vacation experience from the sweet home itself to the proactive communication by the owner was downright perfection! Tony thought of everything to create the perfect home away from home for guests and we were so appreciative. So many additional touches from the Welcome Gift, the stocked pantry goods to simply having umbrellas available was above and beyond. The photos online depict the home exactly and the location truly couldn’t have been better! We enjoyed our visit so much and will definitely be back. A beautiful restoration of and older house perfect for one or two families. House was super clean and well appointed with everything you would want. Location is just a few blocks off Main Street, far enough that it is quiet and peaceful but easy access to food and shopping. House has four porches and great fire pit area, waking or two minute drive to Lake Michigan beach. A real gem and a great week!

Wonderful Experience!
The property was perfect and allowed us to enjoy a short trip to Charlevoix The Beautiful. The deck and backyard are a great retreat after a day of exploring the town. We had 3 adult couples and a 9 month old. The amount of space was perfect!

Wonderful stay so close to downtown!
This place had it all! From hair blow dryers and curling irons in the bathrooms, to spices and seasoning, to bonfire supplies and then some! This place was so prepared for us to host our bachelorette party, plus it was so beautifully decorated! We will be recommending this location to everyone we know looking to stay in charlevoix!!

Best VRBO Property I've ever rented
We use VRBO a lot and this property was the best we've seen. Immaculately clean. Incredibly well-appointed. Easy communication with the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure a great stay. Because of COVID, we cooked every day for a group of 10 and the kitchen had everything we needed, and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. I highly recommend future visitors leaf through the picture book about the renovation...quite a good story!

Picture Perfect!
What an awesome stay in Charlevoix! This house has all the amenities plus a great location within steps of downtown. The hosts were great to work with and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were very comfortable, plenty of towels, supplies, etc. Easy trip over to Bellaire, Torch Lake, Petoskey to check out other sights as well. Be sure to read the coffee table book showing how they took this gem down to the studs and restored it to its original glory, but with a modern touch. We plan on coming back and you should visit too!

From the moment we stepped through the door we were in love with the place. It was so well and thoughtfully decorated. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. (And oh those coffee beans.) The house was notably clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the owner’s photo book of the house renovation.Our only regret was that we didn’t have an opportunity to use the fire pit.We are already talking about when we can come and stay again.
