Historic Home in East Chop
Ristrutturato a East Chop, Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard. Costruito nel 1863 dal mio bisnonno, la casa ha il fascino di una dimora storica, ma ha le comodità moderne per farti trascorrere una vacanza rilassante sul Martha's Vineyard. We just completed our stay with another couple. The house is exactly as described, renovated and very clean. We only used two of the bedrooms and used one of the bedrooms to store our luggage. The house is beautifully decorated and stocked with everything to enjoy your stay. We especially loved having a comfortable patio and the use of the gas grill. Navigating the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms may be tricky if you have mobility problems but there is a frat floor bedroom, if that is the case. We plan to rent again next summer. The owner checks in on your arrival and departure which we appreciated.

This home is the quintessential MV home, but is also modernized; a perfect combination! We love the house and the location; it’s quiet enough to feel like you’re in the woods, but close enough to town to walk!

The property was exactly as quaint as it was in the picture. It is not a busy street which was perfect for us. Great location close to Oak Bluffs and all the restaurants and shops. Cozy and you felt at home as soon as you walked in. The house had everything that you need.

The house was perfect for a friends' long weekend. A perfect mix of historic and new. The house is lovely and charming with a wonderfully updated kitchen and bathroom. Serene back yard with wonderful patio and outdoor shower. Plenty of gathering spaces and comfortable bed rooms. We cannot wait to return.

Awesome home
Loved everything about this house! Love the charm of the older home blended with the contemporary updates. Backyard is number one with great seating for lounging and dining. Outdoor shower is one of the best. Wifi was iffy especially in backyard. Bedrooms are small but the overall footprint of the house makes up for this. Great neighborhood. Well stocked kitchen, short walk downtown. Very relaxing.

Delightful house, incredibly clean and well appointed. Easy bike ride to town and overall a fantastic rental. The small children could have used shades on the sky lights. Many early mornings!

Best place for a vacation
This lovely well kept home is in a perfect location. A short walk to town but it’s very quiet location is very relaxing. The outdoor shower is fabulous.

We loved everything about this updated MV cottage in East Chop. It’s secluded & quiet, yet close enough to walk to Oak Bluffs. Lots of personal touches make it feel like a home. This is a great spot for families.

Nice, enjoyable stay
This house really had everything you need for a nice stay on the island. It was clean and well equipped. They did a nice job in modernizing the whole first floor and common areas, as well as the back patio area, which was absolutely lovely. We enjoyed sitting outside grilling, having drinks and eating when we could. The front enclosed porch was also nice for sitting, watching people go by to the other houses and just lounging. Very comfortable. The updates still kept the nice cottage feel which I like.
We did have a problem with the microwave not working from the first day, but the owner was responsive in sending someone over immediately to check it out. Unfortunately, it never worked and needed to be replaced, so we didn't have one during our stay. But that's ok. We know how to use a stovetop. That's how we grew up. Since no microwave, it would have been nice to have a teakettle, but we used the coffee pot for hot water. Other than no microwave and teakettle the kitchen was very well equipped for our needs.
If you stay, realize the bedrooms are really small and are probably best for just one person, unless you are in the room with two singles. It was perfect for us since we were just 4 ladies with our own bedrooms in the house. If more than one person you probably won't be able to move or put your luggage anywhere. Therefore, I would say 5 people max for comfortable sleeping. Please note, the bedrooms get very humid and musty if you leave the doors closed all day. The air conditioning splits worked well to cool, but not against the humidity. We learned halfway through the stay you must keep the doors open unless absolutely necessary to close them. You need the air circulating, constantly. The downstairs bedroom was the most problematic because it's right off the kitchen and dining room and the tendency would be to close the door. DON'T. You'll just have to keep it clean and keep the door open during the day and even at night if you don't mind. You'll thank me. Also, the upstairs bedrooms have skylights in them with no coverings, so by 6am the sun comes beaming in. If you would prefer to sleep late you may need to try the temporary paper Home Depot coverings for 4.99 and definitely bring a sleep mask. There are also only blinds on the downstairs bedroom and bathroom and the back bedroom upstairs. Not even the upstairs bath. I guess they are trying to keep an open feel. It works. I enjoyed it and would rent again.

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in this lovely East Chop home. It was clean, cozy, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The front porch was a great spot to read and have coffee in the morning. Communication was great and the location was perfect for an easy walk into town and exploring East Chop. Weekend Gem
The newly renovated home is a perfect space, both inside and out, for a family or group of friends. It maintained a quaint cottage feel with all the modern amenities. Perfect location for walking into town and the beach. We had an amazing stay and look forward to renting again. Lawn space for lawn games was a plus for us!

A great choice
The spacious living room with a large comfortable couch and the airy front porch provided great places to lounge and relax. The backyard was even cozier than expected from the pictures with a full set of patio furniture and a spacious outdoor shower. Fully stocked with necessary appliances and very clean. An easy walk to downtown. Would definitely recommed!

Vineyard vacation
I always look forward to my 2 weeks on the Vineyard. A time to relax and enjoy all the Vineyard has to offer. Found this house online and could not be happier with it. It is a lovely home cared for with love. It is in a secluded quiet location, but is just a short walk to downtown Iak Bluffs. Highly recommend this lovely vacation home!

Lovely Week
We really enjoyed our stay. It was more off the beaten path from downtown OB where we usually stay but this year it was perfect. I could walk to the water for a run and also walk to circuit ave for ice cream. The house was clean and with updated appliances. The kitchen was very well stick with every cooking gadget you may need. The upstairs bedrooms did smell a bit musty but stayed cool with the AC units. I think this is unavoidable with older homes. The front porch was relaxing and the communication from the owners was fantastic!

A Great Place To Stay
My family and I had a wonderful week here! We have rented many places in the Vineyard over the years but this home is by far the best! The home is beautifully decorated and immaculate. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need and the beds are comfortable. We really enjoyed the new patio and the new furnishings. We spent many night out there. Jonathan the owner was great always there to answer any questions. I m already planning my week next year!

This lovely home is a short walk to downtown Oak Bluffs, but is located in a quite wooded area. The home has been updated with modern conveniences, while preserving the history of the home. Highly recommend it.

Girls’ Getaway
There were four of us girls on this trip. This house was perfect for us. We each had our own space. The house is beautifully decorated and has every thing you need. Thank you Jonathan for sharing your family place. The charm is absolutely wonderful. The modern updates make even more spectacular.

Loved every detail!
The charm that only an antique home can provide mixed with clean, modern updates and amenities plus all the comforts of home and fun coastal decor makes this home away a true gem. We felt lucky to find it. We traveled with 7 ladies and always felt like we had all the space we needed. We had a packed MV agenda but had we known how great this house was we would have certainly planned for more time spent staying in and using the back deck, grill etc. Jonathan provides all of the information you would need on the house and quick to respond when I had questions about the stay or the island. I hope to return :)
