The house was in a nice quiet location a short drive from downtown Truckee. Lots of trails in the area to explore and a nice place to work remote. Great house!

Friends stayed for a couple of nights in June for an artists retreat. It was a comfortable place to stay after a long day of drawing. The location is super peaceful and communication with the owner was great. If this retreat happens again next year, we’ll start with this listing when we look for a place to stay.

Wonderful cabin with a nice rustic feel and also a recently updated kitchen. Beds were really comfortable and the showers had nice water pressure. It was fun to stoke up the fireplace and put on one of the many movies to choose from. Two thumbs up!

Nice cozy mountain home. For the price, it did leave me wanting a little more. The coffee maker was pretty dirty, and a lot of the dishes needed to be rewashed before use. I also disagree with the $300 fee for additional guests, when our guest total wasn’t even at the max for the listing. The list of checkout tasks was pretty extensive, especially considering that there is still a cleaning fee. We had a great time, and there was a lot to like. The kitchen and master bathroom are nicely updated. The wood stove is great. There was plenty of space. It’s in a nice quiet part of the Tahoe Donner development. But there were a few areas that kept it from being a perfect stay.

Such a wonderful stay! Cozy home, nicely remodeled kitchen/bathrooms, great location. We look forward to coming back in the summer!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay in this cozy cabin tucked in the mountains of Truckee, CA. Very close to downtown restaurants and night life, as well as national parks, historic sites, golf, Lake Tahoe, museums and attractions, and hiking and biking trails. Kitchen is fully stocked with anything you might need to prepare meals. Enjoyed drinking morning coffee and evening cocktails on the front porch every day. A truly relaxing vacation spot!

I can't think of a more peaceful place to enjoy Truckee and Tahoe area from. The house is tucked away in a quiet subdivision just outside of Truckee. The trails are literally at your doorsteps with historical downtown, grocery stores and shops just a short drive away. I was able to easily enter with house, but upon arrival there were several questions I had regarding the property. The owner was slow to respond which meant we had some searching to answer the questions on our own. There is a extensive binder of house information, but it would help for it to be updated to reflect reality (no BBQ on site anymore) as well as splitting winter and summer instructions. The internet speed is slow, so don't expect to do any video streaming or conference calls (download 25 Mbps). There was also insufficient toilet paper for our week long stay, so we were forced to go and buy our own which we left stocked at the house. Come and enjoy this perfect mountain home in summer or winter as minor feedback it is a fabulous accomodation.

Nice small -medium family size cabin with privacy spaces. No handicap accessability. Steps to front door a little steep but in good condition. The front door lock has been fixed.

The instant hot tap was so nice for my cups of tea. Doors were squeaky so that was a negative but kitchen was well-equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. There were several tasks to open the place up but we managed just fine

We had a great time at the property. It served as a base station for our adventures; snowshoeing, skiing, exploring local stores and attractions. It was clean and spacious for our family of 4 and quite relaxing.There was plenty of fresh snow during our stay, so we stayed in one day and played around the house.

My best friend & I rented this house for the weekend away with our families & we had a wonderful time! The house is beautifully updated and well maintained. We had to reach out to the owners with a few questions and they were super responsive. We will definitely be back!

The property is nice, in a great location. The front doorknob doesn't latch. thankfully there was a deadbolt or I would have been calling the owner. The house needs some work though. The cleaning I expected to be better. Especially with the new COVID protocols. The kitchen was very dirty, the deep cleaning stuff. The windows, the large front windows haven't been cleaned in years, Cobb webs and dirt that takes a long time to accumulate. Towels and sheets are miss matched and frayed. One washcloth was all we could find. Also when using the washing machine, there was a load left in it. The setting on the machine was "rinse and spin", so are they even washing items for the next guest? No grill was to be found, the owner didn't respond to the inquiry.

Very relaxing & peaceful stay. Everything you needed in a cabin. Felt we had to do a lot or that was required prior to leaving when we had a cleaning fee!

Overall it was great. The only downfall was that the upstairs room was so hot that we couldn’t breathe!!! We had the fan on and the windows open as well.

This was our second summer staying in this cabin. We love it so much! It's close enough to town to make it easy to run to the store or restaurants, but far enough out to be quiet and peaceful and to feel like it's really a getaway. The cabin is great, very clean and with some nice recent upgrades to the kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen had all the things I needed to cook family meals, which is really important to me. The deck is a great place to hang out, and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out. I highly recommend this cabin!

My family and I enjoyed staying at the property very much. The pictures accurately reflect what the cabin looks like. -The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of extra bedding if needed. -The kitchen has everything needed to cook and eat-plates, cups/glasses utensils, pots, pans, and various other equipment. I didn’t need anything other than food. -The bathrooms had toilet paper and hand soap/lotion. No shampoo, conditioner, or body soap. One issue was there were only 2 hand towels and one washcloth between the two bathrooms that I could find. Extra towels were provided and a hair dryer if you need one. -Beware there is no AC, which is common for that area and I wasn’t expecting it. We opened up the windows overnight and that worked out fine. -Check in and out was easy. There is a binder that explains it all in addition to a detailed email I got from the owner. Checking out does take a little bit of planning as check out is early (10:00) and there are a few things that need to be done such as stripping the beds, starting the laundry and dishwasher as well as taking the trash out. -The location was great. Very closer to Donner Lake, downtown Truckee, and the grocery store. Neighborhood was quiet with no traffic, which made it a joy to sit on the porch. -The cabin was mostly clean. There were cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink, which was nice to clean off the patio table. However the floors could be cleaner. No shoes in the house but the floors were dusty in some spots and there were things on the rug, indicating they had not been vacuumed. There were cobwebs on the pot rack, dining room light fixture and on some of the window sills. Overall the cabin didn’t feel dirty, but for the cleaning fee that is charged it should be cleaner. I have no reservations about recommending this place and I’d stay here again!

Check in was easy and Richard promptly responded to my questions. The cabin was comfortable and spacious and the location was quiet and close to town. The newly remodeled kitchen was well-equipped and had everything we needed. The only minor inconvenience was that the propane grill was downstairs in the garage, but we adjusted. Other than that, everything was perfect. Would definitely stay there again!

Kitchen well stocked with utensils and complimentary spices,sugar etc which is always so helpful when traveling. We used the front deck a lot to relax and visit with one another. We recommend this place for couples, and is family friendly.
