A day before we arrived, we were asked via SMS by the property owner about our age and what the gender ratio was. After answering (we are late 20s/early 30s) we received a rather aggressive text message back saying that we were not allowed to do drugs, parties or anything else, if we planned to do so we would have to find another accommodation. He also said that if he found out, he would end our stay. Given that we were a group of friends who had just come to relax and enjoy the Ardennes after a long period of work, this was quite unpleasant. On arrival we were given a very detailed explanation of the house, we gave the deposit in cash and paid the tourist tax also cash. It was remarkable that there were more than 7 bins to separate the trash, but apart from that, the house was clean and orderly. After the explanation, we all sat down in the garden for our relaxing weekend to begin. We were just sitting in the sun when suddenly two French-speaking ladies and a child came running towards us, very angry and frustrated. We were shocked, we had just arrived. After a serious discussion, it turned out that the family lived in the farmhouse behind the house and had recently suffered from a lot of nuisance ( people renting the house), so they wanted to immediately let us know what they thought about this. We were very shocked, of course we understood their frustration, but this was not the right way to welcome new guests. Fortunately after a good conversation they understood that this was not the correct behaviour. We did not see them again for the rest of the weekend. The next morning, we were sitting outside early with a cup of coffee (the house has a fantastic terrace), and suddenly we saw the owner of the house sneaking into the basement. This gave us a very unpleasant feeling of privacy violation. We saw the owner several times that same day, walking around, doing the grass around the house. This was not indicated in advance and we did not like it.

Nice house, friendly host. A nice big field of grass in front of the house. The balcony, bbq, and sauna are great.
