Well appointed with everything we needed. A little bit worn but worth the reasonable price. We would rent again.

This is our fourth stay at Porch Lane Cottage C. We love our little home in the woods and we look forward to returning next February. It is quiet and relaxing and while it could use some updates we are very satisfied.

Bed was not comfortable in master bedroom. Needs exterminator. Needs trash picked up. That really took away from the venue.

The place is quaint but outdated and not well maintained. Very quiet location except when the rooster next door wanted everyone to wake up.

The location was convenient to most things we wanted to do. The beds were comfortable. The furniture could use a good cleaning. More pieces of flatware really are needed so you don’t have to wash every time a spoon is needed. The can opener didn’t seem to work properly so that needs to be replaced. And I would recommend new towel bars in the bathrooms. The ones there are not attached to the wall firmly and they come apart.

The Gulf2Beach staff were very accommodating and responsive. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace as it was COLD the week were in town. It was also super nice to be able to bring our pup along. This really is a charming cottage, I LOVED the old floors, but the rest of the house could use some love. As mentioned in other comments it needs a coat of paint and some updates. It could be a real show place if the owner wanted it to be. All and all it was a good stay and I would consider staying again. One more thought....a hair dryer and some extra blankets would have been super.

The microwave door is broken. We didn't use it because we thought it might be dangerous. we had some problems also with things like missing light bulbs so we had to do some switching out as soon as we got there. in the master bath the toilet seat needs replacing as well as the towel bar which fell off in our hands. overall the house seemed to be clean and since we were there for only 3 evenings it suited our purpose. Fairhope itself is a beautiful little town and we loved it!

We have family in the area, and rented this house when visiting over the Christmas holiday. Overall, a very nice property in a nice area. The house was clean and well furnished. The layout was great and perfectly suited our needs. We felt very comfortable during our stay, But. the kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures are in desperate need of update and there are many minor repairs needed throughout the house. None of this prevented us from enjoying our stay and we would consider staying here again.

Great house for a quick weekend!

Property was neat and clean. Very spacious and relaxing. Right down the street from some of the best food we have ever tasted! Bone and Barrel has the best crab dip. Short drive to Gulf Shores. We hope to come stay again!

First, I would like to start by saying that I don’t like being harassed about leaving a review. I do not believe in reviews or survey’s. To do either, requires a salary and I do not work for you. Both are a complete waste of time. I haven’t had WiFi since Ida. I just happen to be at my daughter’s to do this review. My first impression of the house was rustic and I was kind of worried about what I was walking into. After getting inside, the house was clean overall and in a quiet location. As for the negative: All appliances need to be upgraded. I was cooking for my friend’s daughter’s breakfast to bring for her wedding party and the burners on the stove were not leveled and didn’t heat correctly. The hot water heater needs to be upgraded as well. It ran out of hot water while I was bathing. It would never accommodate 6 people. The batteries were dead in one of the TV remotes We wanted to go out on the back porch.There are boards that need to be replaced and the swing needs to be replaced.

We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The biggest complaint we had about this place was the swamp near and open drainage ditch around the property. It attracted mosquitos and just felt “wet” everywhere. We weren’t there when it was raining and the water stayed that way the whole time. We also didn’t like having the rug in the family room due to it being a pet friendly place so rolled it up amd noticed it was dirty underneath.

Furnished very nice

Previous reviews mentioned cobwebs and broken light bulbs on the ground, the broken swing and burned out bulbs inside. This was still the case. The house itself is very cute and nice. The kitchen and bathrooms fixtures were fairly clean and the furniture was dusted however the cobwebs have been there a while, some with spiders, behind doors and in corners and hanging from the ceilings. I purchased a duster at Dollar Tree and took care of them myself while I was there. They were not spider webs that were built overnight. I live in the country myself and get those as well so I know how to identify those. They've been there a while. We didn't use the upstairs except to take a blanket from a bed, and occasionally use the toilet, as it was only three of us. The carpets upstairs were terribly dirty and not just with stains but with actual debris - thread, lint, crumbs etc. I would have vacuumed them myself but I could not find a vacuum. The hard floor vacuum in the closet downstairs did not do very well even on the hard floors so I did not attempt it on the carpet. The toilet seat in the downstairs bathroom is wood and it's paint is chipped away and pitted inside the ring. That is unsanitary and should be replaced as toilet seats are not that expensive. I dusted all of the baseboards and doors but they need a good scrubbing. I had to draw the line there, as I AM on vacation LOL. The back porch was covered in pine needles and tree debris which I also swept and cleaned up. The house itself is really pretty with a great floor plan, in a nice wooded area off the beaten path but still close enough to things you'd need. The door around the handle on the microwave is cracked in several places and appears to have been for a while. The blinds in the bedrooms were grimey. For the price the house should have been much cleaner. Still, it's a really lovely place. I just feel that the owner is getting ripped off by the cleaning people. With a good deep cleaning and a little attention to maintenance this could be a fabulous vacation rental. I was happy to do a little cleaning for the sweet little house while I was there and leave it better than I found it 🙂. Check in/out was easy and we had no problems with maintenance issues or door locks or anything like that. Our party was myself, my husband, our 12-year-old son and our two toy dogs.

The condo was very spacious for me and my family. It was perfect for our family vacation

We enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean and very roomy. We brought our boat and had plenty of room to park. The house is close to the Grand; to various shops and to several boat launches. We will return!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The communication on the day of check in was great. Our only wish was that we had a better view, but the area was excellent. Close to everything we needed!
