Cozy, quaint cabin with comfortable beds. Deck is a bit worn but nice. Can easily walk to town. Going back in a few weeks

The property manager was very thoughtful and was very quick to respond. Didn’t run into a single problem, the couches were comfy, the kitchen was easy to use, the beds were comfy and the cabin is placed so close to downtown Twain Harte! Highly recommend you stay here for your next vacation!

We didn’t want to leave! The Bigfoot Lodge is homey, comfortable, and the perfect place for our three young kids to play. We lucked out and got lots of snow, so the kids could play on the deck and in the backyard. The heater is fantastic. The kitchen has everything you’d need to whip up your favorite meals. No shortage of blankets and snow toys on the basement. I bet it is amazing in the summer as well. Everyone we encountered in town was SUPER friendly. And if you need anything else, Sonora is only a 15 minute drive. You’ll find a Walmart, movie theater, Starbucks, medical center, and much more.

My husband, our 4 year old daughter and myself stayed at the Big Foot Lodge, it was the perfect size for us. It was very clean upon arrival, cozy with the heater on which was great. Scott was amazing at communicating, definitely a bonus. He worked with us on adjusting our stay since there was a little storm the day we were suppose to arrive but he understood safety was a priority. We truly appreciated that. We didn’t have to drive anywhere as we had so much fun with just the snow that was outside the cabin, in the backyard, across the way. Loved seeing all the different pictures in each room, also the Christmas decor. Our daughter was super excited to see there was toys she could play with as well, they have books and movies you can read/watch as well. We would definitely stay here again and look forward to our next family trip. Thank you Scott & Monica!

This cabin is warm, comfortable, and has everything you need for a relaxing stay. We felt right at home and enjoyed waking to town for a few meals. Watching deer in the yard was a special treat!

We loved our stay at Scott’s Bigfoot lodge cabin. We had our two sons, age 2.5yo and 2mo and it was such a great time. The property is really cool and has a bunch of nice touches to welcome our kids including games, toys, a foosball table, a swing, and a nice fenced in yard. Location was great and we enjoyed the surrounding attractions. Communication with Scott was easy and he helped with all our questions. The cabin itself has a great touch with cool decorations that make you feel like you’re tucked away in the woods but it was also extremely well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Our boys loved the property and we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy Twain Harte and the surrounding area but especially for families with young kids. You could tell the property was set up to cater to families and it was a really great vacation for us. Looking forward to visiting again in the future!

What a magical weekend. The cabin was everything we hoped it would be. Clean, comfortable and quaint. It was 100+ degrees when we stayed but the multiple ceiling fans and air conditioning units worked wonderfully and kept us nice and cool. Close to downtown, we enjoyed mini golf, the lake, and even took in a car show! Twain Harte is idyllic for anyone wanting to escape and go back in time. The neighborhood was very quite and safe. Deer came into the yard every morning which our kiddos loved. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our kids also loved exploring the basement and playing foosball! Scott was a great host and made the process very smooth.

The place was warm and inviting. Great location and close to downtown. Lots of deck space to sit, eat or just watch the stars.

Twain Harte is a gem.

Very comfortable and cozy for our family group of four. The wall decorations provided interesting glimpses into some of the nearby attractions. Very comfortable living room furniture for viewing our Netflix account when we were winding down for the evening. The room air conditioners did a very good job in the hot August weather. This is an older property and shows some signs of it's age, but that was undoubtedly part of it's charm. We had never heard of Twain Harte before, but quickly grew fond of this very small, unique town. The highlight for us was the ability to access the private Twain Harte Lake on a hot summer day and delight in the enjoyment of a 10 year old.

We love Twain Harte and this is one of the most well-appointed properties that we've stayed at! Excellent amenities, comfortable beds (and pillows!), and the back yard/deck was perfect for the hot weather. The ceiling fans and black-out blinds worked well enough to keep it cool inside such that we didn't need to run the A/C despite the 95+ degrees. Scott was very responsive to my many questions and an excellent host. We hope to stay here again!

Walking distance to everything you will need! This place fits the bill to getaway for a relaxing stay in the woods. Minutes from the casino was a plus. CLEAN and TIDY. The heater kept us toasty and there's laundry machines downstairs. 5 stars!

Property was very clean and cozy. The electric fireplace really gives it the cabin feel and puts you to sleep. My son enjoyed all the extra toys and backyard space. Overall exactly what we hoped for. Thanks again!

We were grateful for the wonderful, accommodating and hospitable owner. Scott was very prompt, conscientious and gracious host. This was one of our best stays. The lodge was rich in amenities. From bath mats, oven mittens, 2 stations for paper towels to electrical outlets with extension cords, (key) hanging board in most room for guests’ conveniences, this lodge was better-equipped than most. Just bring food supplies if you plan to cook a meal. I saw cooking oil, flour, syrup, soy sauce, many types of seasonings in the pantry. There were also condiments (mustard, mayo, ketchup) and coffee creamer in the fridge. Bring your own toiletries, hair-dryer and bed sheets. Queen size or better – King – the mattress was a fine thick type if you wish to tuck the sheet in. It’s not often we came across a rental with 0 complaints. Naturally there was something amiss such as slow wifi, unreliable plumbing, troublesome parking, minimalist furnish (no dressers or nightstands, barren walls). This lodge was superb and ticked all boxes. Spacious 900 sqf for 2 or small family, decent wifi ( 17 Mbps, only need 10+ for streaming Netflix), easy digital entry lock, strong water pressure, ample hot water supply, both air con and ceiling fans in living room and each bedroom (rare for snow country rentals around here) top notch cleanliness, elegant deco, quiet woodsy location with lots of windows all around, must be gorgeous too in winter. Front and back large covered deck, walking distance to restaurants, cafes & shops, playful decorative nightlights were another added bonus and charm. I was glad to rediscover this beautiful part of CA. We drove through a few times without knowing this small lovely town named ‘ Twain Harte’. Harte is from Bret Harte, Mark Twain’s close friend, well known for local style short stories. The town looked like a self-sufficient nice community with its post office, lake & swimming pool. There are several nice stops on scenic Hwy 108. 25 mins from the lodge is Pinecrest Lake. We went Monday. It was quite crowded but worth it. This was a good time to go for the lake was full. There is a 4 mile loop trail along the lake. We walked a shady part half loop counter clock wise starting from beach side ( in front of amphitheater). 45 mins from the lodge is Donnell Vista with parking lot, nice short trail to pleasant view of lake and mountains. Further on the road is Kennedy Meadow with impressive view of creek and granite wall similar to Yosemite

Lovely time away for a couple of days. Scott, the host, was responsive and accommodating! The property was in a great location. It was very quiet and peaceful. It was also as described. Would highly recommend and we will be coming back!
