Location was great for being close to shops and surfing. The large courtyard was a great place to relax

The house was even more desirable than the VRBO portrayed.

The good was spending time on the patio. The bad was we didn’t have time to search for a propane tank and rest assured you will have to if you want to use the fire pit or grill.

We have loved coming to this house for years—this was our 4th stay if that tells you anything. Its location is so awesome. The place is clean, comes with beach chairs/sand toys/boogie boards, etc. And the front patio is really awesome. Please note that the owner does say that they don’t refill the propane for the BBQ or the fire pit—they rely on tenants to do so. To me that just means that the fire pit and bbq aren’t available because most folks aren’t going to fill and “donate” a tank of fuel to a house that isn’t their own. If we stay again, I’ll bring a tank from home next time (if we are driving), because it was a bummer not to be able to enjoy the fire at night.

Beautiful property. Spacious clean living area and patio. Great location. Only downside being under the flight path for the airport. Did not expect that.

This is a cute and cozy place to stay while visiting San Diego, Ocean Beach and surrounding areas. Host was extremely responsive and helpful. Location is great - only a couple-minute walk to the beach.

We didn’t use it to its full potential. Too cool out and we were out and about, so no beach time for us. Great location for us tho as our child lives close.

This place was perfect for a long weekend with my grandparents visiting from out of state. Easily walkable to beach and bars/restaurants. Definitely recommend for those wanting to stay in OB!

Let me start with the positives – great location, just a few blocks from the beach, very nice place with recent updates throughout the house, very nice patio area and a reserved parking spot is very necessary. The only negative is a major one with insufficient air conditioning. If it is above 70 degrees outside then the portable air conditioning unit is not enough to cool this space. It would keep one bedroom cool, but that won’t do when there are multiple individuals staying in the house. When I informed the host of this he did drop off three box fans. It was in the 90’s during our stay and those didn’t help much. He said it’s a portable air conditioning unit so move it where you need to. This unit’s condensation tray would fill up with water in 30 minutes and a "P1" would show on the display. When that happens you must empty it or else the unit wouldn’t cool, just blow air. I’m not sure what the host expects you to do through the night. We went to a business and purchased a hose and a clamp so it could drain to a sink or a shower. We also tried to purchase an additional air conditioning unit of any kind, but with a heat wave bearing down on Southern California they were all sold out. They had an evaporating fan which we tried, but these are not air conditioners and only helped slightly. We returned this at the end of our trip. Too much of our time was spent trying to cool this space. If you’re going to list air conditioning as an amenity, then make sure it’s proficient to cool the whole space. We looked specifically for a rental with air conditioning and were willing to pay a higher price for it and it was not provided. We’ve stayed at many rentals, but have never had to work so hard at trying to stay cool in one. I’m a landlord in Kentucky and I’ve installed Mini Split Air Conditioning units in similar spaces. They are very efficient and affordable. To sum it up, this issue would keep us from staying at this location again. In addition, a ten seconds video on locking the front door would be a good replacement for the paragraph trying to explain how to do it in the binder.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in San Diego. The house was very clean and comfortable with cool modern touches that worked well with the Ocean Beach vibe. The outdoor space was wonderful, filled with beautiful plants and twinkling lights at night. The location made for easy walks to the beach, shopping and dining. Our only issue was that the air conditioning unit didn’t really cool very well, but we made do with fans and open windows. We will definitely return in the future!

This little cottage/house was very clean, well stocked and in a great location! I don’t think a lot of San Diego houses have central air conditioning; this one has a unit that I believe pulls air from outside. It’s been warm so the cottage didn’t cool very well during the day but worked wonderfully once it cooled down outside. All in all, would totally stay here again! William was amazing in staying connected!

We loved our stay in San Diego. The House was immaculate and had pretty much everything we could have asked for. The only downfall for us was the No AC part. Although for the most part we were very comfortable two nights were hotter than the others. Being from Texas I didn't think to look for AC as an amenity, so I know this is on us. Other than that the stay was perfect location and family friendly :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Ocean Beach - this is a great home and my family and I greatly enjoyed ourselves.

Wish there were half stars to rate the stay. There were SO many great things about this property. The location, the courtyard, the price, the communication. It was almost exactly as listed. I spent time reading all the reviews. A few things to be in the know about if you’re booking: Property listing says no more than 4 guests per stay, and you can pay per night extra. It never said anything about friends coming over to hang out in the amazing and convenient courtyard—until 3 days before checking. We received a very detailed email that no one other than us are allowed on property at all times. Not even in the courtyard. We were notified there is a camera out front to watch this, and there would be repercussions if this happened. We vacationed with family, and had planned to bbq for lunch since we are 3 minutes from the beach. I messaged the owner to ask permission, stating no one would go into the house (I thought this was a covid concern). It was a short message back that no, we could not, as the community and neighbors are the concern. I found this odd and extremely disappointing. There was nothing about this in the listing. Had there been, it would have changed our booking. So we followed the rules, which again, was disappointing. We would have understood if it was laid out to us beforehand. Second, it’s advertised with AC. I read other reviews that mentioned the heat, and that the unit worked well. The first night we could not get the AC unit to blow cold air. The ceiling fans are also set to a low setting, and you cannot turn them higher. We were able to find comfort from the cooler air outside with the windows open. I messaged the owner and they said the unit was 2 weeks old, and the house cleaners the day prior to us said it was working just fine the owner sent us the manual to read. We come from Arizona, so are very accustomed to cold air. I read through and trouble shot the AC unit. The fan setting and the cold were the same, no difference. Be aware of this if you like to be comfortable temperature wise. Lastly, the ant issue previously mentioned. They are there in the shower and kitchen. We have two little kids so we had to make sure to sweep up or eat outside so no crumbs were dropped, because the ants appeared very quickly. For all these reasons I would rate it a 3.5, as I felt like I bothered the owner with my two messages about the AC and the guests in the courtyard—both major amenities to a property in our travel opinion.

Upon arrival you get what you've paid for.pictures of the property were spot on.Thw surrounding neighborhood is vibrant and fun with a ot of personality. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and the area.

William and Kelly were gracious hosts, and we couldn’t have asked for a better Vrbo spot! Their property was located steps from the beach and a short walk to coffee, açaí bowls, Italian food, and more. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!

This property was gorgeous!! The lanscaping around the patio was amazing. House was modern and very clean. Proximity to the beach, restaurants and shopping was perfect. I highly reccomend this property. The property owner was extremely attentive. When you stay here, you will love it!!

We found this to be in a great location. We stayed a very short time but we’re able to enjoy Torrey Pines, La Jolla, children’s pool, San Diego Zoo. We drove the cost to Laguna beach and watched many sun sets at sunset cliffs. We enjoyed Many great restaurants walking distance toward the pier. Ended our trip for souvenirs in “old town San Diego”
