We had 10 people with our group. The house is huge and everyone was comfortable. Great walking area.

We had enough room for our entire family, and it was GREAT! We have a son, here with us in the Rochester area who brought his wife and 2 children out, a son in Apple Valley who has 2 children and our daughter who also lives in the Minneapolis area.
I also have a sister in the area who was able to come out and join us for dinner one evening.
There was plenty to do around the area which kept us all busy. And the big TV screen was GREAT to catch up on the Olympics in the evenings.

This was a great property. I disagreed with a previous reviewer who said this was not good for small children. We had a two year old in a five-year-old and this was perfect for all of our family. Everything was available to us inside the house they had a well-stocked kitchen. Check in process was great. We had one little issue and it was taken care of immediately. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful large home. Wonderful location near expansive park and trails. We stayed with our 2 young adult children, was a great place to have their cousins come visit and hang out.

Close to Minneapolis/St Paul locations. Comfortable for a family gathering with plenty of room. Very clean with everything we needed. It was a wonderful weekend.

The home is beautiful&spacious but wish I had read old reviews. The house is good for groups, but renters make it hard for groups. Home is not good for young families.
Where you’re told to park does not match where you can actually park. You’re allowed to park in a small part of the driveway – while most of the driveway must stay open for owners.
You are asked not wear shoes in the house to preserve the floors. This was offputting as the first thing you see when you arrive.
Owners live on site. I asked before & rental company skirted my question. We were not comfortable because we were walking on eggshells the whole time.
The host set up the dining room for tea w/ china. While I appreciated the idea, not great for us w/ 2 young kids. We had to put up the decor and china on our own, hoping we didn’t break anything.
It was not clear how much of the property we could enjoy. One night, the owners had a fire pit going in the yard, which made us feel like we could only be inside. I didn’t like that the owners had the option to come into the house. While they did not – or we did not see them in the house, we could also not trust that they were not in the house while we were not there.
We never felt like we had privacy. We felt nickle and dimed in our reservation. My 1 and 6 year old counted towards guests & we had to pay for 3 other guests who didn’t stay at the rental the entire time. Thankfully, we used it as a place to sleep, and were out and about. Will not stay again.

Adult family that got together for holiday weekend. Hosted dinner for 8 adults. Plenty of space. Close proximity to everything that we wanted to do. Nice having lake and walking trail to stretch legs.

My family and I loved staying at this house. Eight of us spent nine days over Christmas at this property, and it was a perfect setting for our family holiday. The home is spacious and clean, and there are trails around Lake Phalen right outside the front doorstep. We will stay here again!

The home is lovely and we had plenty of

The accommodations of this home were perfect for our reunion group of longtime friends from all over the country. Spacious rooms made everyone comfortable. Walking around the lake and spending time on the patio were most enjoyable. Grocery and convenience stores were nearby, and the driving time to the many sights, museums and restaurants in Minneapolis and St. Paul were good. A day spent in Stillwater, MN was delightful This particular location is easily accessible from the airport.

Clean, spacious, pretty. Great location for our family which enjoys being outside. Big yard, nice patio, and great running trail. We enjoyed the zoos, parks, and children’s museum.

This was a great location for us to hold a week-long family reunion. Its proximity to the lake was wonderful, as it allowed the older members to sit outside and watch the sunrise and allowed the younger members to go swimming at least every day. It was also easily drivable to lots of restaurants and attractions in the area.
The bedrooms were great and there were plenty of bathrooms for the entire crew. The ground floor master was perfect for the mobility-challenged guests.
The only snag was that the air conditioner did not work for the first twelve hours when we arrived during a record heat wave, which made for an unpleasant night, but the management was easy to deal with and the problem was resolved by morning.
Overall, we loved our stay and definitely recommend this property!

We had a wonderful stay. Everything for the property was as advertised. We were in town for our daughter’s college graduation with 9 adults including 2 sets of grandparents and everyone had everything they needed for a peaceful getaway between events!

The house is beautiful, spotless, very comfortable, with all the amenities and appliances needed to cook for a big crowd, and with such a comfortable living room with a gas fireplace where to spend evenings and play boardgames. Warm and welcoming. It exceeded our expectations for a group of 12.
We would definitely stay there again !

The home was very nice, with clean, specious bedrooms and bathrooms. We were grateful for the shade tree in the front which allowed us to be outside and have views of the lake. The house sleeps a maximum of 12 and we found a nearby short term rental for the remainder of the family (5 more). We were disappointed about our inability to gather as a full family for meals at this house due to their occupancy limit of 12 including any day guests. (Except for one night when we were given permission to exceed 12).

A good choice for our family with lots of space. We enjoyed the outdoor patio area and walking the trails by the lake. A quiet neighborhood allowing us to sleep well. Bill was very prompt to fix a shower head in the master bedroom.

Family gathering
We had a wonderful experience with this rental. The home was very inviting the moment we stepped into the porch! Loved the idea of taking your outside shoes off before you enter the home. The home was very spacious with a huge kitchen area. We especially took advantage of walking around Lake Phalen everyday. It has a beach and splash pad for those to enjoy. You need to walk there or just a short drive to the other side of the lake. You won't be disappointed in renting this home!

Great family friendly stay
Stayed with a group of 8 adults and 3 kids aged 6 and under. House was spacious and gave us plenty of space for together time or retreating to a different area for some space. Two large tables for eating and playing games. View of the lake was a nice bonus and we enjoyed the easy access to the walking trail as well. Kitchen was stocked with what we needed. Only issue was the AC didn't seem able to keep up, temp was 77-78 degrees in the evenings after running AC all day but cooler in other areas of the house (so not working consistently throughout the house). Otherwise all was great and thankfully we had some cooler days and evenings to keep the house temp down.

Comfy Home
We traveled to the area for my dearest friend's wedding. I traveled with my husband, sister, and son (4yrs old). We shared the home with my best friend, her husband, a nanny, and 2 young children (under 2 and 1 yr old). The house was the perfect size for all of us. The house was a little barren of basic essentials you find in other rentals (ie., cooking oil, condiments, etc.) but no real deal-breakers. Pro-tip for this house: all towels were kept in the laundry room. Again not a deal breaker but we were scrambling to find people a towel that were just fresh from the shower. :) The house is directly across from Phalen Lake that has a lovely trail. It was perfect for getting the kiddos tired out before nap time.
Bill was great. He responded promptly to all the big items. If you need immediate response to him, he's great on the phone.

Great for multiple families!
We were very happy with the property! Everything was as advertised. The house was very spacious, even for all 12 of us. It was a great way to have multiple families (including kids) stay at the same place together. We loved having the lake and park so close. Neighborhood was very nice and felt safe, very close to grocery stores and easy to get anywhere in the cities. Thank you!!

Relaxing, spacious home with incredible access to a great lake!
We were looking for a getaway destination that could accommodate our large family and found it in this home! The house was very well kept and we enjoyed the unique use of space regarding the layout of bedrooms (I slept in what I assumed was an office, but felt comfortable with my privacy and wasn't distracted by noise in the adjacent living room). We did need to reach out to the property owner who was prompt and helpful. Lake Phalen is just across the street, and views of this placid lake are accessible from many rooms in the house. There is a stunning walking path around the entire lake that eventually takes you to a beach as well as boat rentals - which is an incredible amenity. The house was typically northeast of many activities we wanted to do in the cities of St Paul and Minneapolis, accessible after an easy 15 minute door-to-door drive. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking in this area.

Large spacious home
My immediate family stayed in this property. We had a great experience overall. The property was clean and maintained. The home was a perfect launching point for seeing the city and offered an array of outdoor activities in its neighborhood. I don’t really have any complaints with this property, but I do have a couple words of caution. The wood floors in the entryway are incredibly slick. They did have a mat over this area, but the floors were so slick that the mat would even slide. I let the property manager know, so hopefully this issue will be resolved. Lastly, the stairs leading up to the second floor are rather steep. Our adventurous 2 year old had fun making us all nervous. Neither of these issues would deter us from renting the property, but it’s always good to be informed.

Great location for our family trip
You can't beat the location and the home is a very nice well kept residence. My wife and I along with our three kids were in town to visit with family and the house allowed us to enjoy lake Phalen along with the park amenities. The house had plenty of space for our family. For anyone looking to rent this home in the future it is important to read the contract thoroughly before committing. It does place a good amount of responsibility on the renters including additional fees for more than 4 guests along with limits on the number of guests allowed, requires insurance instead of a damage deposit, you will have cleaning responsibilities in addition to the cleaning fee, etc. Bill was easy to work with and did occupy the private residence in the basement while we were there. The reason for our four stars is that the house advertised at a lower price but after paying for the insurance, additional guest fee and amenities like shampoo, conditioner, etc it made for a more expensive trip.

Immaculate house at a beautiful location!
We were so delighted with our stay and experience. We got the impression that the owners take great care and pride in their beautiful home, and it shows. It is a bright, clean, spacious, beautiful place, at a great location right on Lake Phalen. A wonderful place to hang out inside or outside the home, enjoying the view, or to access the lovely walking path around the lake. Highly recommend the experience, and we hope to be able to return!
