We visit every summer from NC and have found Mission beach to be ideal for our 9 year old twins. It has the beach, Belmont, the plunge and close proximity to Sea World and the Zoo. There are lots of things to occupy us from here.
We always want to find a place that is clean, close to everything and has good PARKING. This place met all our criteria and as a bonus has an excellent property manager. The only issue we ran into was a broken key for the garage which was fixed immediately.
The house was clean and cozy, front area was great for sitting and people watching, BBQ if you want. Kitchen had all the expected amenities. No issues with wifi access. Master shower had great water pressure (not always the case is SoCal). We were very happy with our stay.

Rachel’s house is the best! The location is so close to the beach and the house is spacious, clean and well-equipped! She was an excellent host and we had no issues at all! We will be back for sure! Thank you for making our son’s grad weekend even more special!!

The accommodations were a perfect fit for our time in Mission Beach. The three bedrooms were very comfortable and the gathering spaces, indoor and out, were wonderful. How can you beat a stones throw from the beach, boardwalk and a couple blocks to Belmont park? The personal touch welcome was much appreciated. Thank you.

The house and location were even better than we expected. It was the perfect size for our two families and so close to the beach! The front yard was so nice to relax, grill and enjoy happy hour at. It was also such a quick walk over to Belmont Park. Our host was so responsive and we would 100% stay here again!

This house was perfect for a family of 6 spring break trip. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house was well stocked with all our needs. The property manager had great communication prior and during our stay.
The house is steps to the beach which was the biggest plus for us and the kids. It was so nice to not have to load up the car for beach day. There are tons of restaurants, bars, and coffee places within walking distance. The house is footsteps to a beach front paved walkway. There were plenty of dishes, towels, linens, beach toys, and everything we mihht need on site. The outdoor patio area is amazing! There is plenty of seating, a fireplace, and a bbq, and you can hear and smell the ocean.
We will definitely be back to the property. This place is amazing!

This property has a great location that is choose enough to the boardwalk that you can see the water, but far enough that you don't get the hustle and bustle noise. The neighborhood is very quiet and nice.
The house itself is a simple home that has the basics that you need for a group of 6. Lots of beach toys, and and a lovely patio to sit out and enjoy meals with sunrise and sunset. Our 4Runner fit in both the garage and the spare parking spots.
The host was very responsive to questions and easy to work with. Our only suggestions would be to have a check in book with the basics laid out since cell service is really bad in the house. We didn't get the welcome text with wifi info until we walked down the street for reception. Maybe send the text via the VRBO chat to have it all in one place. A list of local favorite restaurants and things to do would be a bonus.
Also would recommend few upgrades like new shower heads, and plastic dinnerware for kids as well as backup. The mattress in the master is lumpy and ready to be replaced, but all other beds were great. In fa t I didn't realize that the kids room has 2 twin beds AND extra pullouts. The couch in the living room is new and really nice!
Overall we had a great stay in a perfect location and wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Thank you for hosting us!

Great location close to the ocean and a small shopping and restaurant area. It had a nice outdoor grill that we used several times. Very comfortable beds. Very responsive host!

We had a family of five adults staying at this location. Overall it was a great location just a block from the beach.
Pros: Location, Beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked.
Cons: Parts of the houses were dated, lot of minor repairs needed (several lightbulbs out, refrigerator light not working, Oven light and fan not working, hallway bathtub had standing water after a shower, Grill needs to be cleaned out and it has a lot of stuff cake on the burners).
The owner was responsive and acknowledged the various issues but given the cost of this place I would have not expected this many maintenance issues. We stayed in 2 other places while in San Diego and they were both in better shape at 2/3 the cost.
I would stay there again but not at that price point.

Everything you could want to do is right there. Steps to both the ocean and the bay. Rachel communicated so well and was really flexible. Had a couple electrical issues that she worked on immediately and went above and beyond to address unexpected issues. Stellar host!

In town with large family for wedding, found this VBRO and the pictures do not do it justice. This house was very clean and comfortable. Just steps from the beach and entertainment. Felt comfortable sleeping with windows open. With all of the space, the 6 of us were able to enjoy games and some fun but were also able to get away for some quiet time. Highly recommend this property

This is our 2nd visit to this house. The owner is amazing! She is so friendly, helpful, easy to reach, and really makes this a great stay! The house is an amazing location, steps to beach, restaurants and Rollercoaster. We will be back again for sure!

Rachel is a great host-very responsive. This is a great property. 3 houses from the ocean, just far enough away not to be too busy and close enough to get the full experience. We rented a car and traveled around. Toyota 4 Runner fit in the garage and parking spot. We felt very safe staying there. Private yard with fireplace and grill. Rachel provides everything you need. Lots to do and see in the immediate area. Close food options. This was are first time staying in a Vrbo property, and it was definitely a great experience. No A/C but we didn't need it, there was plenty of breeze and ceiling fans in every room (August stay). Highly recommend this property.

Look no further! This place is in a perfect location. We didn’t use the car at all! Everything is within walking distance (even for small children). The home is stocked with everything you need. Just pack your swimsuit! We will definitely be back.

Family Vacation with 7 guests. Plenty of beds and accommodation for all of us. Our traverse fit fine in the garage. My crew cab truck fit in extra space even though it hung over the red line a little. We used the boogie boards and surfboard and chairs that were provided. Having 2 bathrooms was very convenient. The location was perfect as it was very close to the ocean. Having a washer dryer in the garage was also very convenient. You get a nice ocean breeze through the big sliding window in the front of the house. The property would benefit from a locking screen door on the front door so you could leave the front door open at night for air flow. Check in process was a breeze. We will be back next year.

Just wanted to mention an incident that owner had no control over but families beware
We went on a busy 4th of July week. There was an awful incident with the mob of kids that wonder around. They surrounded a car and that poor women did not stand a chance with that mob. They set off an illegal firework that sent debris into our patio full of family including kids. Police patrol came and they threw a firework in the patrol car. Police patrol all night. Next night the same, kids hiding in between houses. Police patrol most of the night. In talking to store owners this is something that needs to be addressed and encouraged us to write about it, they also have had they’re share of incidents

This property has a awesome location to the beach, Belmont, and restaurants.
Plenty of space in the house and all bedrooms are comfortable. Kitchen amenities are great. The outside patio is wonderful, with the outside fireplace for that firepit experience.
A space anyone would enjoy and hate to leave.

This property and location was perfect for my family. Great location within a few houses from the beach. The owner was easily accessible and very kind. The front yard is amazing for BBQ’s and just hanging around the fire talking. Would definitely stay again. Thank you Rachel for an amazing experience.

It was cozy and comfortable for our family of five as we enjoyed our son’s college graduation week. From the gas grill and fireplace to the comfy furniture - our stay was like a home away from home. Renting bikes on the boardwalk was a few steps away! Rachel was super responsive when we had a question. Wonderful memories!!

The pictures do not do this place justice!!! The bedrooms all perfect! The outside space is beyond amazing , especially with the outdoor fireplace! Rachel was so very kind and accommodating ………we are already planning our next stay here!

I will definitely stay here again. It fit a family of 7 perfectly. It was so great with the entertainment area outside and the walk to the beach and shops. The host was very communicative and friendly. This is the place to stay.

It’s such a nice place with 3 bedrooms! The patio area is perfect with the BBQ and fireplace. What a treat to have dinner outside! The dining table is great. Large enough for our family. Beds were comfy for us. Master bath remodel looks wonderful. And, of course, the location is perfect. There are a few maintenance items, but overall, very good.

Our group of 4 women had a wonderful stay at this property. Location is amazing - walking distance to everything! Outside space is a cozy space to hang out and the outside (and inside) fireplace was perfect for the chilly nights. Beach is incredibly close! Rachel is easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Little things that could be improved upon - a coffee table, footstool and/or rug in the living room would add a bit more comfort. Beds are a bit squeaky.
Overall - highly recommmend!

The location was incredible! A lot closer to the sand than the photos appeared. There was so much to do within walking distance, or a quick drive to La Jolla. The owner was so responsive, kind, helpful, I could go on an on. Incredible! The house was extremely clean and had everything needed for a few days. We will be back again next year.
