This was our first trip to Michigan and it was even better than we imagined. The house was perfect for our family with plenty of room and activities for our teen and our 7 year old. The lake access was a couple steps away with a sandy bottom and clear water. We enjoyed exploring Traverse City and Peterson Beach on Lake Michigan. I definitely recommend getting a pontoon boat. Great way to end the summer!

Anja was the best host. Family reunion residence was about 0.2 miles from VRBO, and we were able to comfortably house the growing family members at her property. We are definitely interested in renting her properties again. ...impressively clean, comfortable, and accommodating.

My husband and I, along with my mother-in-law and 2 year old, thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Everything about the house was perfect - plenty of space, everything you need and impeccably clean! Even though the weather was not great, being less than an hour from Charlevoix and Traverse City, was perfect. Anja supplied a document with tons of helpful information about the house and the surrounding area, so we didn't have to search for anything while we were there! While we were there we had the opportunity to meet and chat with Anja and her husband, which was very nice! I would definitely come back and highly recommend staying here!

Our second year renting this property was as enjoyable as last year. Everything at this rental is neat and clean. The owners provide all linens, even offering beach towels. This is a wonderful location, too.

My young family of four stayed in Anja and Christian’s lovely home. Our daughter is 4 and our son is 2. Upon arrival to the house, it was very clean, well kept, and you can tell the attention to detail in preparation for their guests. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need for feeding both adults and children. The master was perfect for us and each bedroom can be closed off for privacy. The hall tree in the mud room off the garage was a great place for items to be kept orderly and clean throughout the week. We had plenty of space to move around. We made most of our meals in the house, the appliances worked very well and all of the utensils, pots and pans were all there for us to use. We used the grill out back and the fire pit and it was so nice! There is even a nice large basement - not pictured on the listing which features plenty of space, ping pong table, Foosball table, life size connect four, rocking horse and an emergency supply of items if needed. We were looking for a house on torch but also central to the below listed locations we also wanted to visit during our stay and this was perfect for us. This house is located: - across the street from torch lake sandbar, a 2 minute walk to public access point to enter the water - 1 mile or so from a boat launch area on the sandbar -1 hr and 8 minutes from sleeping bear dune climb (Glen arbor is also right “next to” (1-3 miles down the road ) the sand dune climb which has the most gorgeous water and a beach near a historic little cluster of buildings ) -35 minutes from traverse city (gorgeous walk along the water) -1 hr and 33 minutes from Mackinac island -3 minute drive from village market (very well stocked) -18 minutes from meijer - 20 minutes from King’s Orchard Stand (in sept we bought gorgeous pumpkins that were picked by my kids right from the patch, we also picked raspberries that were beautiful) -20 minutes from a U-Pick flowers stand (we made a lovely bouquet and our kids loved that just as much as we did. Anja is incredibly responsive and helpful, she and her husband went above and beyond to make our first ever visit to Michigan & Torch Lake an unforgettable one. She told us where we could rent kayaks, which is very close to the house (about 15 minute drive from the house). We hope to return again to beautiful Torch lake if you haven’t ever visited you MUST, you won’t regret your choice!

We had a phenomenal time at Torch lake ! We def will be back , but a little earlier in the summer . The location was perfect. Anja had some toys and things set out for my 1 year old . The welcome note and s’mores were such a cute touch . The property offered walking distance to the lake , an amazing fire pit, grill and a garage we were able to store kayaks in. Thank you Anja for being so accommodating ! We hope to be back next year and catch up with you guys !

Christian and Anja are great. Super easy and relaxing. Great location across the road from the beach and direct access to all the trails in the woods. The house has all the space we needed for 3 adults and 2 kids. Fire pit out back was very pleasant. They provide everything you need!

It was close to Traverse City, Lake Michigan, Petoskey and Charlevoix! It’s a short walk down the street in either direction to the sand bar so that was nice! The fire pit was awesome! They supplied all the wood you could possibly need and we enjoyed it every night we were there! Overall a great experience!

This is a beautiful, clean home. The owners thought to supply everything a family would need to enjoy a vacation at the lake.

The house was perfect. Everything there needed. A lot of thought put into this house to make a perfect vacation. Nice surprise to have s’mores stuff on the counter waiting for our arrival. The basement with the ping pong table and giant connect four was perfect for a rainy afternoon. The back yard with the fire ring and endless wood and the nature trails were great. 2 close public beach/water access were nice. The boat launch in Alden worked out perfect for some lake time on beautiful Torch lake. Could go on and on. One of the beat vacations. Would definitely go back!

The house has great amenities and is one of the cleanest I've seen over the past 7 years of renting in this area. The owner is very responsive as well. Will be looking to stay here again!

Was a great time

We very much enjoyed staying at this house. It was clean and very well stocked with almost everything we needed. A big plus is the baby/kid items (high chair, pack n play, kid toys and games, kid cups and plates). That makes family vacations with little kids so much easier! The location is great. We enjoyed taking walks in the woods behind the house and to the beach access (very small beach, more of just a lake access). The house was clean and furniture was decent.

This is great property and awesome location. If you have younger kids they will love the swimming that is basically just across the street. Everything is well equipped and the property is just as pictured / described. Extremely clean. Owners are friendly and extremely interested in making sure your stay is perfect. I'd highly recommend staying here if you have the chance.

As always, our stay here was wonderful. Their homes are always spotless and well appointed.

Our stay at this lovely home was fantastic. The house is very clean and organized. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare family meals. We really enjoyed the bonfires in the backyard as well. great location as we only needed to cross the street to get to the lake access. I highly recommend this location for anyone that wants to stay in the Torch Lake area.

My family and I stayed at this lovely home at the end of July. We were very very happy with the location, the interior of the home is beautiful. This home is so well stocked in the kitchen they truly thought of everything plus more. We enjoyed the grill and fire pit and the smore kit that was waiting for us on the counter with a lovely note. The basement has a ping pong table and foosball table which we had a great time challenging each other. Wi-Fi worked great . Everything in the house was spotless and cozy . We played board games / watched movies at night. Traveled to Sleepy Bear dunes, Elk lake, ice cream at Higgins in Alden. My husband and I really appreciated the owners coming down to meet us and visiting very very enjoyable. We highly highly recommend this home. This will be my 5th home we have rented through VRBO and I have to say it was my favorite. Perfect size, they didn't skimp on linens, beach towels, plates, pots and pans, soap etc. Five stars. House has everything you could possibly need, is beautiful, and well kept. Nice location convenient to the lake and near to a lot of tourist areas.

The house was beautifully decorated and clean, it looked brand new! It had everything we could possibly need! We stayed for Fourth of July weekend and couldn’t have been happier! Anja and a Christian were wonderful hosts, they even went out of their way to drop us off a extension cord we needed and mailed us back a tank top we left there! The lake access is just across the street a few houses down! Bring a raft! Water is gorgeous!
