Beach access closest to the house as advertised was closed due to landslide conditions. The other access points were quite a hike. Other than that, the house itself and location was absolutely great.

We will now only come and stay at this property for future trips to Encinitas.. The house was amazing but the views of the ocean and nightly sunsets were priceless. We usually go out to eat but for the whole week we ate in so we could enjoy the view, the beautiful weather, and sounds of the ocean. The owner and property manager were so easy to communicate with. Best find and wish we could stay longer.

The home was very spacious and accommodating to the 7 of us. Chris was excellent, anytime we had a question she was amazing in getting back to us. There was plenty of seat for dining as well as relaxing by the fireplace.

This is a great property to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee overlooking the ocean or to relax in the hot tub while watching the moon set. The location is outstanding. Beside the fact the house is on a bluff overlooking the Pacific, the North County location is close enough to enjoy all of San Diego without all the traffic and hustle-and-bustle of a typical oceanfront house. The house has character and isn't pretentious. My family of 6 loved it. We played cards at the table while watching movies and/or bowl games on TV in the family room. My family was caught up in the Southwest Meltdown in 2022. Chris was understanding, gracious and hospitable despite the ups-and-downs of our journey to get to the house. We will definitely return.

We used this beach/bluff front property for a reunion of 8 college buddies. The 3 bedrooms were roomy enough and had enough beds to accommodate us all without feeling cramped. The property is "well worn" and the price was fair and we understand some improvements will be made but everything worked and was fine for our needs.

The house had everything needed for a great girls' weekend. There was plenty of room to hang out, chat, watch TV, and play games. The kitchen was amply stocked and easy to cook in. More importantly, the view was world-class, and the hot tub was the icing on the cake after a surf session! Highly recommend!

Great ocean view.

Just returned from a 3 day stay at this property. The location of this home was perfect for us as 4 of the 6 guests in our group went surfing and the trail to the beach is just a few houses down. The house offers great views, is clean, plenty of kitchen supplies, and the beds were comfortable. My daughter and husband and 2 other guests enjoyed the hot tub after surfing. Each bedroom has a bathroom and that was nice. The property needs some TLC, a face lift. Some things needed addressing and the property manager was informed so that the next group coming in should not have the same issues we had. Overall, we had a very nice time and enjoyed our visit.

The back deck had a beautiful view of the ocean and the access to the beach was nearby. We used the beach toys, chairs, umbrella, and boogie board, which was very nice to have. There was plenty of beds for our five adults and two kids. The pictures of the house are accurate - not fancy, but comfortable. We happen to go during a Heat Advisory, so the living area was quite warm, but we ate out on the deck almost every meal. The bedrooms had portable air conditioners that were used to cool the bedrooms each night.

You can't beat the view from this house and the location is great. We particularly liked the large patio and how well-fenced in it is - we didn't have to worry about the dogs getting out. My only complaint is the condition of the two smaller bedrooms. They could both use some work.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was beautifully retro style with all the amenities for a great vacation. The views were breathtaking with a patio deck for viewing. The house is very spacious and comfortable. Could not ask for a better vacation house to help celebrate our 10 year Wedding Anniversary. We definately want to come back again.

This is a beautiful property overlooking the ocean. Saw many surfers, dolphins, & some boats. The house is totally accessible with no steps into or in house. The beach is not as it is below the cliffs. The only room that presented a problem was the master bedroom where the bed is so high I could not get into it. This forced us to sleep in the other bedroom with less accommodations. Only very tall people can use this bed. All of the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook or bake. Chris was wonderful. He responded immediately to all questions & even came to the house to help with the garage door opener & took care of an ant problem. As stated in other reviews, the furniture is very dated & could be easily replaced as some of it isn't very comfortable. But the way the living room is laid out, it was perfect to keep kids separated from adults. The back deck is beautiful but very old & the floor was uneven in places. The plexiglass around the deck was great to see easily but the one panel by the hottub is loose. There also was a place on the step down to the hottub that felt like it was very "soft" & could break through. We put a vase over it to prevent anyone stepping there. We had the best vacation in this home & will be back if we are in the area. Highly recommend this home even with the few concerns I have shared.

We canceled our stay half way and checked out. What you are paying is mostly for the view and close location to the beach. The home was filthy, unorganized, extremely congested and unsafe because of the scrimping miserable disrespectful owners. Many amenities and services mentioned in the VRBO were misleading and false. Many electrical hazards like open power outlets, a power surge was hanging down lose mid air. Many doors and windows didn’t lock, which made us feel unsafe. Many doors and windows were not shutting close which meant opening for pests, we saw spiders and ants inside the home, and rat droppings under the kitchen sink by the dishwasher detergent. The washer/dryer and AC portables were not working properly. The portable AC units were filthy with layers of dusts and dirts. The home inside was about 78-79 during the day. We called the owner to voice our concerns, she was rude and disagreed! This owner should respect and try to find a remedy to fix the travelers valid concerns not belittle them. The owner seems to not care about customer service or safe/clean home, seems rude and offensive, cheap to spend money to fix these important safety and cleaning issues. We told her upon arrival, the home seems to not have been cleaned professionally, we found socks, Tylenol pill, candy/food wraps, hair bow, dust, dirty floor, dirty windows and screen glass doors, open doors and windows, she said “if you’re not happy you can leave right now” but we couldn’t, we just drove 6 hrs with kids to get there and it was around 6 pm, so I cleaned and moped myself. Next morning, when we told her about the cable box not working, she came downstairs twice and tried 30 min each time, finally she said the box is not working, perhaps from overloading the power extension cord that is just hanging out in mid air lose with many power cords like TV, portable Air conditioner, cable box and light fixture. We told her about the doors and windows not shutting, she said “those are minor issues, no one else has said anything to us or complained”. We requested to cancel, she offered to refund the remaining 2 nights if we leave “RIGHT THEN” which was around 5 pm when we saw her email through VRBO. We couldn’t leave that moment because it was too late to pack up especially with kids. She said she will write a review about me on VRBO, we don’t care, we are telling the truth, this is not slandering.

Book it! You'll be thrilled you did. We had a great stay in Leucadia/Encinitas. The views are truly top-notch from the deck, and there is ample seating outdoors if you were to have a group (we only had two of us :)). We enjoyed watching the birds, helicopters from the base, and surfers from the deck. The location is ideal if you want to explore Leucadia - we walked to Coffee Coffee most mornings, and walked to other restaurants (Valentina's was a favorite for dinner, Karina's for lunch). It's a bit too far to walk to downtown Encinitas (which you could probably already tell by looking at a map!) but a bike would be easy. We also were able to walk to the Sunday farmer's market and get fresh produce - really a fantastic market and conveniently located to this place! We cooked only a couple of times in the kitchen, and we able to find all of the cooking tools we needed. The neighbors were quiet, and it was lovely to have a garage to park in. A tip: If you need strong WiFi during your stay for work, park yourself in the dining area next to the signal booster! It worked fairly well with minimal bandwidth challenges. We couldn't find Kleenex (tissue), but other than that, we found what we needed here! The cleaning was a little bit sub-par when we arrived. For instance the main bath had hair and gunk in it and the carpet/rugs smelled a bit (sidenote - i have a very sensitive nose so it may not bother others), but I **totally** understand the owners were in a rush to turn over this place for the next guest and we easily cleaned what we needed to. It should have everything you and your family needs for a lovely stay. This place is also *wonderful* for small dogs. The fences aren't high in the front so if you have a bigger or more adventurous dog, perhaps think twice. But otherwise, it worked well for our two small, well-behaved pups. There's no grass, but our dogs quickly figured out the spot on the side of the house to do their business. Enjoy your stay!

Are stay was very nice and the host responded well when we were there. BBQ didn’t work properly so that was a bummer and communication was good til we left and I had a question about something we left behind. We live in town so it wouldn’t of been to big of a deal to drive back up but no communication after we left. That was a bit of a bummer. Overall a great place to stay

As they say in real estate, Location, Location, Location. Yes, I read prior reviews that describe the property as dated, etc, but what I wanted for my family was a great location with incredible views, and privacy. This property is within walking distance to not only the beach, but many very good restaurants/coffee houses, shopping, golf courses, and the city of San Diego. The view from the backyard/hot tub is so good, that we never even made it down to the beach, which is literally steps away. We made breakfast there once, because the local coffee shops were too good to pass up (and the kitchen is completely stocked with all the cookware you would need anyway). This property delivered exactly what we were looking for.

This house has everything you need and the view is the best! We have stayed here twice now and will definitely stay again. Great communication, has all the amenities you need, close enough to walk to some Restaurants, and access to beach is just a few house down. Enjoyed watching the surfers all day.

Weather was great and the view was awesome. However, there were numerous issues with the condition of the house and the items missing from the description given. Bicycle listed was missing. Street is nice and flat so a bike would have been great. Was offered $ for one day rental. I was there 14.. BBQ tank was empty when I went to start dinner. It was stated that back up tank in garage. Not there. As I stated the view was great but only from outside. The big windows are double paned and in between the panes were so fogged up it really took away from the inside view not to mention the one of the 2 sliding glass doors was broken and couldn't be opened. The shower door had no rubber on the bottom so when showering water ran all over the floor. Spa cover was full of duck tape making it unappealing. Don't get me wrong. Had a great time but when paying this much I expected a lot more of the house.

From the moment you walk into the house through the garage and look forward, it feels as if you're on a cruise ship! The water is everywhere and it's just stunning. The view and deck was exactly what I was needing and it's absolutely beautiful. As others have mentioned, the inside is quite dated but comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked, but I, too, couldn't find the measuring cups anywhere (I saw this mentioned before, but totally not a big deal). The bed was comfortable and the house had everything needed for a great trip- I was there four nights. I do agree that this house has an 'interesting' layout with an internal courtyard between the primary bedroom and living room- I did not use that at all, but walked through it to get to the hallway. The house was clean and comfortable. I'd recommend the cleaning team thoroughly wipe the top of the fridge. I'm really tall and saw what was going on up there, and it's just a point of feedback for attention to detail. The customer service was exceptional. The house was exceptional. The location was exceptional, quiet and safe. I will definitely be back- already looking at my calendar. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here. I LOVED IT!

Not clean at all, sliding door inoperative, smell from master bathroom sink, hot tub cover needs replaced, need cable in front bedroom, need lights in back bedroom, very outdated and not like picture on vrbo add, kitchen great, view is the only thing that made this stay better. Would not recommend this place at all!

We enjoyed our vacation in this home overlooking Beacon Beach. We ended up spending most of time enjoying the deck (readying, eating, talking, and lounging in the hot tub. ) Also, we went to the beach at least once a day, walked the lovely neighborhood, and strolled to several restaurants. The deck was the perfect spot to watch our family member surf in the waves just below the house . And the sunsets viewed from the deck were not to be missed. I could go on and on but I will end by saying "we will be back"!!!!

We had an absolute ball in the property. Chris was very helpful and response was excellent. Views are wonderful, very comfortable. Quite deceiving from the exterior, curb appeal. Would recommend it to anyone.

The reason we chose this property was ocean front location and three beds and three baths to accommodate 3 married couples. It delivered very well on these two items. The location had a great view of the ocean and was secluded enough where we were not visible to our neighbors. I felt safe and could walk to local restaurants if needed. It was a Christmas trip and they had installed a Christmas tree which was a nice surprise. There was plenty of space for 6 adult people to spread out and not feel cramped. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils and dish ware we needed. The appliances had some age but were in working order. The weather was not the greatest and we had some rain water issues. The owner issued us a small refund for our troubles. We would have liked an earlier check in and later checkout. The check out was harder because of the cleaning we felt we needed to do so we wouldn’t be charged an additional fee.

This house has everything. Amazing ocean views, convenient beach access, great location, and tons of amenities and vacation accessories. The house is spacious and well appointed, with a floor plan that lets you hear the ocean in every room. Our dog loved the walks and watching the ocean activities from the patio. And having the two car garage was really convenient. We're hoping to stay here again soon.
