Breakfast is served from 6 am to 10 am to accommodate both early risers and those who wish to sleep a little later. The menu consisted of eggs, waffles, cereals (hot or cold), fresh fruit, fresh brewed coffee and tea just to name a few. Breakfast room buffet, tables and chairs were kept very clean.

The front desk manager was ok.
Dirty rooms, noise complaints about my children right after we arrived and we were unpacking and they weren’t even being loud.
I was charged double, took almost 24 hours to find a manager who could fix it and then never got any compensation for the Inconvenience of having no money for 24 hours, was just given a refund for the extra and that’s it.
Bathroom water never got hot and beds were very uncomfortable.
The man working when we first got there had absolutely no clue what he was doing and was very unprofessional.

The whole building and facilities are impeccable
The water pressure at the rooms should be improved, it is just ok but seems weak sometimes; soundproofing from upper rooms is not the best.

we loved everything. it is a nice, clean, and welcoming experience. the breakfast is wonderful. we will definitely stay there more.

the breakfast was by far better than any of the other hotels we stayed at in the area over the years
shower had next to no water pressure at all. when we got to room we didn't have any normal size pillows

Breakfast was great, location was great for where I was visiting. Staff was very friendly and informative.
When it rained I could clearly hear what sounded like water going down the downspout. The harder it rained, the louder the noise.

it was absolutely clean and brand new! The breakfast was wonderful, can’t say enough good things about the cleanliness, comfortable bed and great breakfast.
The walls are thin, and we had someone next to us who may have been on their honeymoon… If you know what I mean… So we did hear their jubilations which was awkward

We have stayed at HI&S over and over. What I really appreciated about the Southport location was the decorations for fall/Halloween. it actually made me feel at home. We had just come from another location that hadn’t decorated at all. The staff provided a print list of restaurants by type of food and their location.
The only thing, which seems to be standard at all, that I didn’t like was the location of the laundry facilities. One on every floor would be amazing.
