The property is a lovely second floor studio (lift in building) in an excellent location, with a beautiful view of the bay and small boats moored directly in front (binoculars provided). It is very clean and well equipped, with an enclosed balcony overlooking the sea. There are plenty of sheets and towels provided and a very good shower. We were only a few minutes walk from the market hall and a few shops, bars and restaurants. All you need is just a short walk away. It’s also within walking distance of the Pornichet racetrack and we spent a very enjoyable evening there. Pornichet is a lovely quiet resort and felt very safe but if you wanted to spend time somewhere bigger for a change, La Baule is just next door. Arnaud, who met us at the studio, took his time to explain everything and was very welcoming, despite the fact we were well over an hour late, due to traffic volume from the Dordogne north. The lovely, sandy beach was on the doorstep and, in good weather, it would be a perfect place to spend time sunbathing, swimming or walking. We had a few bracing walks in a wet, windy week! Bikes were available if we’d cared to use them.

Unfortunately, the weather was poor the week we were there, but that had nothing to do with the studio. However, because of the weather, we spent a lot of time in the studio and it would have been good to have a comfier sofa to sit on in the balcony area when we were looking out. Overall, we were very happy with our accommodation and on a better week would never have sat on the hard sofa as much! Parking spaces can be hard to come by but we managed to get a space just round the corner and left the car there all week. The space in the garage was too tight for our car. Another point is really with Booking.com and nothing to do with the actual property - my booking information stated I had to pay a cash deposit which would be returned on leaving. I received an email 10 days after I arrived in France, and before we arrived at the studio, saying a cheque deposit would be required, which would be torn up. I had no cheque book with me so we ended up using a photo of a bank card. This was a bit of an awkward situation for both Arnaud and myself and Booking.com needs to ensure renters have the correct information.
