Relaxing place to stay.

Absolutely nothing

Friendly welcome. Convenient for Barnard Castle. Available parking on the roadside. Comfortable bed. Lovely cooked breakfast but the offer of some fruit juice or fresh fruit/ yoghurt would have made it an excellent breakfast. There is a menu available for people wanting an evening meal which looked quite delicious.

Our room was a little tired. There are a number of do’s and don’t signs the owners feel it necessary to display, it’s such a shame that some guests don’t have respect for the establishment.

The breakfast was wonderful, and Glenda and Daniele are doing a great job in being hospitable. Homelands is a lovely house, and the position in Barnard Castle is excellent. All the facilities were very good.

My bed was slightly lopsided. I was sorry I was encouraged to sit at the same table at breakfast every morning as it meant I didn't get a chance to enjoy looking out at the lovely garden.

Exceptional breakfast, service and perfect hosts. A lovely gem of a B&B (with the offer of an optional home cooked Italian evening meal). A lovely garden room, absolutely perfect for us and our dog. A perfect location for exploring Barnard Castle. We cannot recommend Homelands more!

Nothing, it was perfect!

The breakfast was excellent. The bacon and sausages were so tasty and it was a classic full English and thankfully without hash browns ( they are not English) The hoists were fantastic , friendly and eager to please.

There was nothing to dislike , save it might be difficult for someone who cannot manage steps to get to the front door. I was disappointed that we did not stay there long enough to enjoy partaking of what looked like a superb dinner menu as one has to book these specially prepared meals a couple of days in advance.

Nothing was too trouble much trouble. The house was very quiet

Too many signs around telling you what you can and can not do.

I found the location was great and the food options ok.

The bed was the most uncomfortable I had ever slept on. The bath was very small and narrow. The hot water tap for the bath wouldn't go any hotter than lukewarm. I noticed in some part of my room there was dust which showed the room hadn't been properly cleaned. I also food some cobwebs in the bathroom. The other thing I didn't like was that the tv didn't have freeview so many of the channels were blocked. This was mainly because the tv was connected to a sky box which needed a sky card. I also didn't like that when having breakfast drinks were limited to a small glass. I would of been good to have a jug of water or orange juice. Or even a table with some self service options.

The food was delicious, the owners are very friendly and the room was very clean.

great location and very nice helpful owners.

We arrived a little early but it was not a problem for the cheerful owner who immediately showed us to our room and talked us through the facilities on offer. We both had the excellent full English breakfast which set us up nicely for the walking challenges of the day. Good location for the walks and nearby town center. When we visit again in the future we would have no hesitation in staying at Homelands.

Cleanliness excellent. Bed very comfortable. Obvious that hosts care deeply about guest comfort as so many thoughtful touches of quality and taste that makes this guesthouse special. Breakfast wonderful. Second stay here for a reason. Location perfect as very short walk to action yet free parking nearby.

Unfortunately the electric shower temperature could not be altered so was either to hot hor to cold regardless of what u tried

Inly slight complaint was the shower in room 3 which alternated between red hot and freezing cold every few seconds

Breakfast was lovely. Made to feel welcome we stayed for a wedding hosts were there when needed but left us to get on with things. Plenty of parking location is great easy walking distance of everything.
