We had another wonderful trip at the Overlook. This is at least the fourth time that we have stayed there and it is always wonderful. We did lose power for a few hours on Saturday morning, but made the best of it:). Be back in July.:). Thanks Dennis

We love staying at Overlook. This is the second year we have visited, to this the Overlook, and plan to continue more years in the future. The family loves the access to the river, the quaintness of the cabin and the familiarity of the location. Thanks you Dennis for another fantasitic visit to Strawberry this year.

My husband, adult daughter and I had a wonderful 3-night stay at Overlook Cabin. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The absolute highlight of this cabin is its location, perched above the beautiful south fork of the Stanislaus River. We could scramble down to the river’s edge and take a lovely stroll through the forest, right from the door of the cabin. We hated to leave. Highly recommended!

Great property, privacy yet close to stream,lake and stores.Had 2 days where upstairs gas range would not lite up.Cleaning people where very late.We didnt get in until 5 pm but they were very nice and did a good job with the cleaning.It was a very peaceful stay,loved the sound of the river nearby.

Our family enjoyed another peaceful and relaxing stay at this great property! Dennis is a terrific host and the cabin was perfect for our get-away to the mountains. The river was so high this year! We loved seeing and hearing the rush of water while sitting on the deck. Wonderful long weekend!

We had a wonderful first stay at the Overlook Cabin. The house was very clean and comfortable. While the river was extremely high and cold and not possible to get into it provided a wonderful backdrop for our stay. We will be back!

We loved our stay at Overlook!! The cabin was beautiful and clean. We’ve never had to bring our own sheets and towels, that was a bit weird. But there was plenty of paper goods and that was appreciated. The beds were all comfortable and it was perfect for our family. The decks were so nice to relax on. The summer storms some afternoons were so beautiful. Just know when you go that there are hardly any blinds, so you may want to bring a blanket or sheet to tack up. Also, the lights in the kitchen are quite dim. Blinds in the windows, brighter lights in the kitchen, and sheets/towels provided would make this the most perfect place EVER! Dennis was a fantastic host. Easy to communicate with and was so helpful with check in, etc. You will love your stay here. We’ll definitely be back.

We enjoyed our week at the Overlook Cabin in mid-May. Great location, the cabin is right above the S. Fork of the Stanislaus River. River was running high and fast with record Sierra snow melt, we could see and hear it clearly as it roared by. House had everything we needed and plenty of hiking is available right outside the door or within a few miles. Will definitely be back.

This is our second stay at Outlook, and we had a great stay once again! The property is perfect for our family of 5, and it’s location is so convenient to get to the Dodge Ridge ski resort. We look forward to our next stay!

Well-appointed cabin, loved the wood stove and listening to the running creek water was amazing. Even caught a rainbow trout. Special time away with my dad and brother for the weekend and this cabin was perfect.

Thank you Denise for sharing your lovely mountain home with us. We achieved the desired rest and relaxation we were seeking. Fishing, swimming, hiking and relaxing on the deck to the sound of the flowing river.

We are so grateful to have found Dennis’s Overlook Cabin. We have been coming up to Strawberry for 25 years with our kids. We needed to find a new cabin as the last one we used was sold. We love being able to sit on the deck and see/hear the river. It’s truly one of our favorite vacations. Thanks Dennis for allowing us to keep the tradition:)

So close to Pinecrest Lake and a beautiful river view. We'd definitely stay again....

This is the perfect cabin to relax and enjoy nature.

Up the hill a short (but steep) walk from the river, the (fishing) adults and kids enjoyed the easy access. Under a 10 minute drive to Pinecrest lake. 40 minutes up 108 to Kennedy Meadows. It's a prime location. The house is in great shape. Internet was the best I've encountered in the area, I ran a speed test and got something like 27 MB down. Was able to access Netflix no problem from the upstairs TV. Gas grill on upstairs balcony, charcoal grill downstairs. Kitchen had the utensils, tableware and tools needed. But like every cabin I've ever been to, they are a bit missmatched and if you are particular about your knives or other tools being of a certain caliber, you should bring it with you. I expect we'll stay here again, we hit a cabin in the area once or twice a summer with family and friends and this was a winner.

The cabin is great... location is great.. river right there with fish... cabin has everything you need and then some... all you need is food drink and sheets...forgot to sign rental agreement before we arrived but management walk me threw the process and was a great help... can't wait to return

This cabin was wonderful. The location right on the river with quick access to the river trail for fishing and hiking was convenient and the pool table and poker table kept everyone busy well into the night. It was clean and all updated. The online pictures and description didn’t specify the BBQ/grill, otherwise, we would have planned to use this for dinner one night. We would definitely use this cabin again for a family vacation.

Need a little more cabinet space to put my food away but other than that we didn’t need much more

When we arrived it was snowing and it was awesome to see. Our kids loved it. This was our second time here and it was great! Awesome to have wifi as well. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

We booked this cabin for our annual “ski week,” and it was perfect! The property was exactly as described and perfect for our family of 5 (kids ages 6, 8 and 10)… PLUS, it was CLEAN, which is a biggie for me! We were just minutes away from Dodge Ridge, where we enjoyed 3-days of skiing. We also enjoyed the beautiful outdoors… we took walks and the kids had a blast playing outdoors and down by the water. The game room downstairs was awesome for our kids…they played pool, board games and more. Dennis was so easy to work with and always responded in a timely manner. We definitely plan to visit again!

Our Family had a great time, plenty of fun in the snow outside and in the area.

Property was well kept and better than pictures, enjoyed our stay.

Really nice cabin, had everything we needed. Also in an awesome location, right at the end of a group of cabins right on the river. We'll be back!

Our family of two adults and three kids, 10, 8 and 4, had a wonderful three-night stay in Overlook cabin. Dennis was so helpful and provided us with useful information prior to check in. We brought bed linens but didn’t realize we needed towels too, but this was quickly remedied thanks to the little Strawberry Store down the road. We brought our own pillows and the kids’ sleeping bags, which worked out well. There are no grocery stores in this area so make sure you have supplies before you get up here - the Strawberry store has basics but expect to pay more up here. There was no cooking oil in the cabin so we purchased some and left it for the next guests. The cabin itself was beautiful - much better than the photos suggest. The interior is cozy, warm and comfortable and our family had more than enough space between the living room upstairs, the games room downstairs and the little finished attic (accessible only by ladder), which the kids loved. The kitchen had almost everything we needed to cook in every night. We’ve stayed in many cabins around Dodge Ridge and this is by far our favorite. The location to Dodge Ridge and the views over the River cannot be beat. We will be back!

Had a nice time, but found some issues needing fixed. 1. wall heater in "en suite" bathroom not working 2. ceiling fan in same bathroom hanging from ceiling by wires 3 remote for fan/light in kitchen not working 4 light bulb in fan/light in living area burnt out 5. Oven badly in need of cleaning 6. Need seating for 4 on lower level (couch holds max of three for watching tv
