We stayed at this listing and we were very disappointed. It could have been a nice cabin to stay in, but it was not clean. It was listed that no pets were allowed to stay. When we arrived we toured through the house. My grandson was going to sleep on the trundle bed. When we pulled it out we discovered there was dog poop on the bed. We continued through the house and discovered dog hairs throughout the entire house (in different rooms and the bathrooms). We notified the host and sent her pictures. She sent someone to clean the trundle bed and clean the floors while we were out eating dinner. Upon returning, the housekeeper had changed the linens and comforter on the trundle bed but all the floors still had dog hair. When we went to bed that night we found dog hair in all the beds we were using; making us question if the sheets had even been washed. We ended up having to wash all the sheets on all the beds ourselves. You could also tell that none of the bathroom rugs had been vacuumed or cleaned, and that there were also dog hairs on the couches. My daughter has allergies and she had severe reactions when sitting on the sofas. We had rented this cabin knowing that pets were not allowed. Overall we felt the place was very unclean and it made it difficult to feel comfortable in the house.

Stayed with our three kids, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren (infant through four years old). Cabin was beautiful and was clean, well maintained, and well suited for our family. Has gates for the stairs, and books and toys for the grandchildren. Based on the listing was expecting a crib, but it has a pack-and-play instead. Grandchildren enjoyed bath in Papa and Nana's jetted tub each night. Apart from the decks, there is not any outdoor play space at the cabin itself, but there is a great playground in downtown Blowing Rock, and a smaller and little used playground at Rocky Knob Bike Park, and plenty of activities around. Enjoyed the pump track at the bike park, Tweetsie Railroad, and Doc's Rock's Gem mining. Created great memories.

This property is set up nicely for large groups of all ages. The only downside is the road to get to the property. Fortunately, we had great weather and good visibility. We were there to do “Tweetsie” with the grandchildren so it worked well for our family.

Group of friends went to Blowing Rock for the weekend. The house was fantastic! Plenty of room, very clean, and the host was very detailed with her communication. The house was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend the house!

The cabin was very comfortable for our family. Could have spent more time just in cabin if we did not want to see local attractions. Was in close proximity to many attractions. Thank you for sharing your well equipped home.
Only drawback was narrow, winding road up the mountain.
Lower drive to garage was frightening. Would recommend only parking on road in front of cabin.

The house accommodated our family well. The deck and porch were both enjoyed.
The house was quite dark and could use better lighting and some light switches were never found. The neighborhood was a rather challenging drive, but on the whole it was a good experience for everyone.

Alpine Escape was the perfect place for our family’s New Year’s vacation. Spacious enough for our 4 families to enjoy and not be too crowded. Owner/manager was very responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. The cabin has very pretty views. Location was both close to attractions that we wanted to visit as well as to the town for groceries and essentials. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to others.

Cabin was very cozy and comfortable. Lovely, private setting. Met all our needs. In awe how close it was to all our activities. We watched the weather to make sure it would be fine but if any inclement weather is in your plans, I would suggest AWD to get to the house location.

My family and I rented this cabin for two nights. We greatly appreciated the cleanliness of all rooms and common areas. The cabin was well stocked with everything you could think of. I would highly recommend to anyone interesting in staying in the area. Great experience and would come back! Thanks for the stay.

Great stay! Clean roomy and overall great stay . Road in was just as described… but worth it. Pleanty of room for our group of 10. Only small thing I didn’t think to ask about coffee maker and brought wrong kind . No biggy since shopping is right up the road .

We stayed at the Alpine Escape the weekend of our daughter's wedding in Boone. It was a beautiful and very clean home, spacious with comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms. We weren't there to enjoy much around the property due to the wedding, but we planned to return soon and will plan to stay there whenever we are in Boone. Beautiful property!

Had a wonderful time and made precious family memories. This Cabin was very clean and nice. Definitely was in the woods which gave a peaceful feeling. The road to it is narrow and steep but after driving to it for the first time we all agreed it was well worth it. Maureen was very helpful with any questions that I had prior to our visit. The location was perfect for going to Blowing Rock or Boone. Thank you for sharing your mountain retreat.

Nestled within the woods and mountains, it was cooler and lower humidity for NC July than I had imagined. Freed the whole family to explore the wonders of the area - waterfalls, trail hikes, tennis and golf, charming towns and vistas. Plenty of space for seven folk.

Maureen’s home was lovely! Welcoming is a understatement as the beautiful home puts you in the mood for fall in the mountains. It had everything we needed to Cook for a group of 10. It was well stocked with towels, and bed were already made! Beds were quality and comfy!

This home was clean, modern, amazingly equipped & kids friendly as if it was prepped for a daycare! Our children & grandchildren had a fabulous time, didn’t want to leave, and wanted to know when we could return.
Yes, the road was steep & would be tricky on snow & ice, but that setting- like you are living in the tree tops, was worth driving a little slowly & carefully.
We are already looking forward to another visit!

So much space!
We loved our stay at this cabin! It was spacious and a great place to accommodate lots of chats and hang out time. The porch is great for coffee drinking, and the couches are great for late night chats. I grew up in Boone, so I’m familiar with driving in mountain roads, but the road down to the driveway is no joke. Beds and all amenities were so comfortable and we had a relaxing stay!

55th anniversary family trip
The property was very much like we expected.. Beautiful location nestled in the woods. Our host Maureen was very prompt to answer any questions we had. Didn't have to contact her at all once there. Kitchen was a little small for group of 10 although the table seated exactly 10 which was great!. All activities were relatively close by, and we enjoyed the scenery while driving. We had planned on having 12 members of our family join us, but since only had 10 there was plenty of room for everyone. 12 might have been a little crowded. We had the master bedroom and bath which was wonderful, and having the half bath off of the family room was very convenient. Everyone agreed that it was a wonderful trip.

We had four 70+ couples getting together for a sibling reunion. We picked this place because of the location, because it looked nice and because it met our requirement of 4 bedrooms with at least queen size beds. Everyone was very pleased with the property.

Great property, beautiful nature and a wonderful host
This property is wonderful. Spacious, clean in a beautiful surrounding. The location is fantastic, you’re within minutes from town, shopping and everything you need but yet once you get back to your cabin, you feel secluded from the world. The host is wonderful and responds promptly. We stayed here for New Years with our extended family and all of the kiddos. There was plenty of room for all 12 of us and the kiddos loved the downstairs play area. 4wd is highly recommended as emphasized by the property owner. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back for another stay!

Family Thanksgiving in the mountains
Alpine Escape cabin had plenty of room for our three generations of Family. Grandparents had the master bedroom on the main floor, daughters, sons-in-law, 3 grands used the two upper bedrooms with the shared bathroom. One family would have used the basement with separate bath but decided that the view from the second floor was worth sharing the bath. It helped that there is a half bath on the main floor. The fireplace was cozy and there was plenty of wood to keep the fire going during all the football games. After Thanksgiving, we went to a Christmas tree farm to get a Fraser fir to bring home and the kids got to pet horses, goats, and pigs

This was a fabulous time with my family. Nice a quite with the beautiful fall colors. There was something for everyone at the cabin. We will be back next summer.

Great cabin close to Boone
Our group was five adults and four children, ages 0-6. There were baby gates on all stairs, which was great. Owner also had several games, toys, and puzzles. Kitchen was well equipped, owner even had kid friendly dishes! We came to town to visit Tweetsie. You could hear the whistle from the cabin, it was that close! A few things to note: 1- cabin is up the mountain, which might be difficult to navigate at night, would recommend arriving during daylight. 2-turn to leave cabin is tight, it’s difficult with longer vehicles. 3-one bedroom is in the basement. We did not use this room as it had a door to the outside (concern for small children). Overall, would highly recommend this cabin!

Toddler friendly, lots of beds and rooms
This was an excellent property!! The road take some careful navigating so it's best to bring groceries with you and just stay there, but it was quite easy and close to restaurants and stores!! Love how toddler friendly the place is, I really appreciate the gates at each staircase!!! The porches are amazing and the beds are pretty comfy. The main floor could have used a deep clean so bring slippers, but overall the place was QUITE EXCELLENT and the host was very helpful. Ole ty of towels and extra blankets if needed and all the basics in the kitchen. 👍
