The owner Phillipe is an absolutely lovely gentlemen. He was always on hand and would go out of his way to help us with any problems or enquiries we had. The accommodation is very large which very much suited my big family's needs. The facilities are very good too with two large showers, kitchen, large dinning room/living room and lots and lots of storage. There's also tons of dishes, cutlery, utensils etc. The decor is old and mismatched, but that sort of thing doesn't bother me. Issoire is a lovely town so the location was great and just 30mins from Super Besse.

Only one big problem: the dogs. Phillipe has three large guard dogs next to the accommodation and they have some seriously big lungs which they like to exercise all night long. We slept on the ground floor and trying to sleep was near on impossible. I'm not sure how the locals put up with. You'd never get away with that level of noise in a UK town. Despite this, I may possibly consider going back. There was one upstairs bedroom on the opposite side of the house where the barking wasn't so loud. If you've got kids that'll sleep through anything (to be honest most kids do) then you may have a workable solution. If he sorted the dog's barking out, I would go back every year as I loved everything else about it.
