The resort itself is very nice. The staff are wonderful and the property is clean. I’ve stayed multiple times but never through an owner and the HOA. I’ll never do it again. A couple of pluses, the property manager wasn’t on property but was very nice and responsive. She gave me her cell phone and answered right away when I called. The negatives: the unit was supposed to be ready at 2:00 per a request to the owner. We arrived at 2:00 (normal check-in is 4:00) and the owners kids were just leaving the unit. They had sent the cleaners away since they were still there. They allowed us to leave all of our luggage in the room but it wasn’t available or clean until 6:30 pm. We had groceries, refrigerated and frozen goods that sat for several hours on the floor since the room wasn’t ready. The wrap-around deck had rusted furniture that was falling apart. you could not use it without a tetanus shot. The dishwasher leaked and didn’t work, plus they didn’t leave dishwasher pods or detergent. We ended up hand washing everything; not a huge deal but an inconvenience with 7 people. The hot water was wonky. It technically worked but was tricky. We called the property manager and she was not surprised by our call, she said it was tricky. Some of us had hot showers, the rest didn’t. There were pots/pans/silverware/dishes but not nearly as well-equipped as the units rented through the resort. We had a fabulous time and I’ll absolutely go back, but will not rent directly from an owner, only through the resort.

Ocean views from room. The food and service at Bistro La Maria just great!!

Awful experience from day 1, issues checking in holding reservations till late at night. No customer service that I can say. We extended our stay,had same treatment as day one. Wasted my money, people spend money to travel and relax,definately not the experience here-total opposite!

It appears we may have been the first renters since it had been furnished, painted and new televisions installed. once we got over the initial mess and disappointment it is hard to be negative when you are in paradise. I hope the owner will take the comments below as constructive criticism and improve for the next people.

We paid over 4000 for a 4 night stay so our expectations were aligned with that fee (expecting 4-5 star) We have stayed in many condos in same location that were perfect. The place was a grimy mess when we arrived, one of the master sinks was missing valve and did not work. The place needs a deep clean even after cleaners came through for surface clean. Missing cabinet door in kitchen. Not enough utensils, no BBQ tools. The beds were new and very comfortable but had cheap Walmart sheets (packaging still in closets) they need mattress covers on beds. If not new I wouldn't have slept on them. Obviously a new short term condo owner since they paid alot of money for the furniture and beds but have no foresight on what it takes to maintain. zero decor. very boring, just furniture in rooms. Not at all like other condos in rental pool. When we spoke to condo manager after we arrived and asked for cleaning, she said the owner would refund all of our money if we left (Just traveled 4 hours with family and meeting three other groups who had condos, Not realistic) She then offered us 100 refund and late check out.( we declined) All we expected was maybe consideration for one night. Not sure if owner was really aware of condition of condo since he had manager who should have checked on condo before renting it. Not enough towels, 2 for each bathroom, no floor mats so you had to step out on your clothes to keep from slipping on smooth tile.

Property was clean, nice and felt safe.
