If you are like me, you are trying to find reviews that don’t require you to read between the lines. So here is the review I needed before staying at this property. I have big kids. Will they all fit? Yes, and they were happy. We don’t like crowds. Will we have our own spot on the beach? Yes. It felt like it was our own private beach. Will there be room in the pool? Yes. We had it to ourselves most days. Did we feel safe? Yes. It is a gated community. Will the WiFi work well enough for everyone? Never had a problem even with three tvs and everyone’s phones. Are the beds comfortable? No bed is going to compare to your own. However, we all lounged on our beds longer than we do when we’re at home, so I’d say they are comfortable. We used all the appliances and they worked great. The water pressure was perfect. We never ran out of hot water. There were plenty of towels and linens provided. The couch and chair in the main room were my daughter’s favorite spot. My favorite thing was the aqua chairs on the back patio off the master bedroom. I sat out there for hours. I miss it already. The residents were nice and the front desk staff were friendly. Don’t worry, mamas. Take this vacation. You’ll enjoy it.

We have stayed at Islander East several times in the past. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The front desk personnel are very friendly and helpful.

This lovely condo was exactly as described in listing (beautifully decorated), but nothing prepares you for the amazing views of the beach or the soothing sound of the waves from both of the balconies! The sunrises over the gulf are breath taking and watching pelicans swoop by as you are enjoying your morning coffee is quite special. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen, though compact, are fully equipped, and it notable that every thing you could want for a beach holiday is provided by Mary, our thoughtful host. There are beach towels, beach chairs (including kiddie ones), even a floaty for fun in the waves. Also, there is plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, dish detergent etc. which was much appreciated. The location could not be better if you want to feel as if miles of sandy beach are your peaceful private paradise, yet you are only minutes away from everything Galveston has offer! The condo building is well maintained, the pool is sparkling clean and warm enough for relaxing after sightseeing, and the 24-hour front door staff are friendly and ready to help in any way you need. All in all, we loved it and are already planning another trip. Joanne and Toni

We typically stay at Pointe West or the Galvestonian so that’s what I’m comparing this place to. The building/pool doesn’t even come close to those. The pool at this condo is very small, faces the parking lot, honestly it’s kinda sad and my kids didn’t even want to get in it (although, it IS heated and we visited in December so that’s worth something). There isn’t a hot tub. The building is old, the lobby is tiny and not the least bit impressive, but it was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The condo itself was clean and nicely decorated. The owner has squeezed as much counter space, storage and as many hooks as she possibly could into this place and I love and appreciate that! There were beach chairs, towels and toys available, we loved that too. The walk out to the beach and the views from the balconies couldn’t be beat. My only complaints/suggestions would be the coffee maker, which was old and cheap. People on vacation appreciate a good coffee maker. We did appreciate the coffee that was provided though. My biggest complaint was the mattress pad on the master bed. It absorbs body heat which made me feel like a pork butt in a slow cooker all night. I was tossing and turning trying to find a cool spot (there wasn’t one) and this was in December. I can’t imagine sleeping on that in August. But with that said, others said they loved the beds and slept great, so maybe it’s just us mature women or anyone with a thyroid issue who are affected, who knows. Other than those issues, again, this place is a solid 4 stars for me. If you like all the accommodations, pool, hot tub, etc. or need 2 bathrooms, this place will leave you disappointed. But if you just want to hang in the beach and enjoy a great location, a little more budget friendly, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here.

Friendly, clean, Convenient and a perfect view ! Work required a bit more of my time and effort so this stay I used as a get a way ! So worth it !

This is a terrific furnished condo on East Beach, no crossing the seawall. Everything you might need is here, including a dehumidifier which works great, lots of beach towels, hooks to hang up your hat, luggage racks, plenty of storage, very nice bathroom fixtures. Will definitely stay at this Islander East condo again!

Great property for couple or small family. Location on East end is ideal for getting around. Direct beach access and lots of restaurants nearby. Would stay again.

Very nice condo, quiet area, not too crowded, friendly staff, just wish there were more things to do with smaller children, kind of humid in the condo though even with the dehumidifier. Overall we had a great stay and our kiddos had a blast

This property, hands down, is the BEST location for staying right on the beach. It is located directly on the beachfront, so there’s no crossing a busy street or sharing your space with the rest of the public. This was the perfect property for our vacation!

I have been to Galveston a dozen times, but never been to this part of the island. It is quieter over there and this was a great place for our young family to come and stay with easy access to the beach.

We really loved our holiday weekend here! The location is right on the beach and the condo itself was exactly as described. We will be making this our normal “get away” place from now on. Also, Mary, the owner, was just as nice as could be! See you again soon!

Great value getaway. Right on the beach and quiet area.

Beautiful view of the gulf, private beach access, great location in Galveston not far from Pleasure Pier / The Strand. Family games and lots of beach accessories making it easy for a quick trip to the beach. Clean condo and well-stocked kitchen. Check-in staff is friendly and helpful.
