We came in a few days after a tropical depression came through the Island. The Jekyll Island Realty group communicated daily up to our arrival date to ensure us that the property was safe/clean and that the island still had power etc. The property was top notch and the pool was amazing.

For the most part, everything was exactly as I hoped it would be! The inside of the home was great!There were a few things I feel you guys should have told us/ taken care of ahead of time. 1) The parking toll. That was $60 we hadn't figured into our spending budget2) The garage door opener. We found this on our last day. We could have been parking inside.3) The provided water purifier. The water here is atrocious. The purifier made it bearable to use while cooking. We had used countless bottles (horrible for the environment) of water before I found this 5) Operation of the DVD player. We never could find the correct input to get this to work.6) Post this listing as having a wood burning fire pit. We assumed it was gas. Would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have brought wood with us 7) Same with the grill. We didn't know from the listing if it was gas/ charcoal.8) We had no notice that the beach access for our street was closed. 9) The grill had not been cleaned. It was filthy from the previous tenants use.10) The pool should have been cleaned before our arrival. I booked this house specifically for the pool. I have a 10 year old grandson on vacation with me. He loves to swim. We found 2 used Band-Aids as well as a dead lizard in the pool. I can deal with the lizard, things happen. But two dirty Band-Aids? That is disgusting.11) All of the available outdoor garbage receptacles were over flowing. Garbage collection did come yesterday but they didn't pick up recycling. So, we were forced to put all of our garbage and recyclables in the same cans. We had kept them separated, as we do at home . 12) And lastly, my entire family felt very uneasy coming into a strange home that was unlocked. If you have a family arriving outside of business hours, perhaps a lockbox can be utilized. Send the family the code on the day of arrival and place a key inside. You may know this is a safe neighborhood but we

Property was very inviting, lots of room for the family of six.... location was perfect in a quiet neighborhood, with private pool onsite. House was spacious, comfortable, and was equipped with plenty of kitchenware to be able to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner if we chose to do so. We look forward to renting this house again. Thank you to the owners for such a comfortable home away from home.

We had the best time with our friends!! The house is very clean and accommodating. There is an extra living area not pictured for added space. The beds and rooms were all tidy. The pool/fire pit area is great! Tons of space! The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for entertaining. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the island!!

The house was amazing and the pool was big didn’t really like the beaches cause of water it’s dirty and u get like wood pieces on you but as for house it was really clean and nice and roomy wish pool guy would have cleaned before we stayed but it was big and kids loved it

Austin Mermaid is a fantastic rental. The house was stocked with everything a family could need. My young kids were thrilled with all of the books, indoor toys, and beach toys. I’d definitely stay here time and time again.

We stayed for the week of July 4th and had a great time. The home is centrally located and has a ton of living space. The 3 bedrooms and 2 baths were great and there is also a front room that is like a small den that has a nice sleeper sofa that we used. The large family room and kitchen were perfect. I was a little disappointed that the beach access point at the end of the road was not functional (you could walk a short distance on the wooden dock and had a nice view, but there were no steps down to the beach and it was barricaded to keep you from falling from a great height)

May 2021 Stay
We enjoyed our stay at Austin Mermaid. The house was very clean, kitchen well stocked. The labels throughout the house were very helpful and humorous. The beds slept well, including the pull out couch. T.V.s had all streaming capabilities. The Jasmine over the patio table was amazing. The pool was great! We have rented many houses and this one was one of the top contenders! You could tell someone put alot of thought into this rental. The only thing I would have wished to have known was that the walkover that is closest to the home, never has beach available. Albright Ln is the closest, which is several blocks over. We drove to Great Dunes Park everyday and it always had beach regardless of the tides. Awesome house, awesome island. We will return.

This is house is one of the best ones we've stayed at so far! The pool is fantastic. The house is well put together and I personally love all the labels to tell you where everything is. We will definately be staying here again in the future!

A beautiful home
The home was clean and very comfortable. I will make one note for people who are planning on staying here, I am a person who prefers a soft mattress and the master bedroom has a very firm mattress. I ended up going to Walmart in Brunswick and buying a mattress topper and all was well. I wouldn't deduct points for a mattress because everyone has their own preferences. Everything else was great, if you're traveling with family it is a much better option than a hotel. My husband and I have been to Jekyll Island several times over the years but this is the first time we rented a house for our stay there, we will definitely do it again for our next trip to Jekyll Island.

I have stayed in many different homes on the island. This one was my favorite. The home was open and airy. You can hear the waves on the screened patio area and don't have to get eaten by bugs. The outdoor shower felt great after being sandy and cold. The pool was stunning. My kids swam for hours every night. We did have to go down to Great Dunes most of the time to get beach access. Having access to the garage was great. It helped keep our stuff organized and out of the driveway. This home has everything you need. At night, the house does get hot, so bring a fan. We had a great time and this house accommodated our family of 9 nicely.

We had a fantastic stay! This is a top quality rental property. Everything in the house is thoughtfully done and it is a bright cheerful space. Kitchen is very well appointed for cooking in. There are so many great little areas to sit and hang out. The pool is just amazing, and has a fire pit too. Nab this rental if you can find an opening in the calendar!
