We cannot say enough about this property. The most amazing views! A meticulously maintained yard and garden! A variety of fresh fruit ready to be picked right off the trees! Swimming pool and hot tub! And one of the best cared for homes that we have ever stayed in.
The bedrooms are separate from the main house and offer a sense of privacy when you need it. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal. And the Webber barbecue on site was clean and well maintained.
The owner's representative was easy to communicate with. And the guidebook in the house was extremely helpful.
We are already talking about returning to the island and this home!

We had a fabulous time! The layout of the house was perfect for our family. We enjoyed walking around the property identifying all the plants. But the view was phenomenal, gorgeous sunsets and on the few clear nights we had, the stargazing was out of this world. I would definitely recommend this property and can’t wait to get back.

8 nights here this June. Chose the property for the seclusion, acreage of fruit trees to explore, view, & private pool. Half the price of other properties with these features.
A few drawbacks wish we had known when booking that perhaps I should have realized from the description:
1. Bedrooms do not lead out into one central area and one is not even within the locked gate of the compound. This made me nervous at night to have my kids in rooms that were not behind a shared locked gate.
2. Some windows actually are not able to be closed - all have screens.
3. Invasive Coqui frogs yell dusk to dawn and with the lack of A/C and ability to close all windows, they were very annoying.
4. The pool is small though sufficient.
Neighborhood a mix of nicely kept properties like this one and a burned down structure where squatters took residence.
Check-in. Asked for instructions the night before - was sent a PDF I could not open and no one replied to a message regarding this. Arrived at designated check-in time having stopped at Costco on the way (with frozen items) and we could not get into the buildings. Called the number listed - no answer. Called VRBO. After a few attempts, they reached the owners who were not in the state and seemed annoyed and gave us a code that did not work. After about an hour, a local person called us and gave us the correct code for the key.
Loved watching the birds, good laundry facilities. Would write more positive but no more characters allowed.

Beautiful view, wonderful garden, and fruit for the picking, lots of room for the family to spread out, it was so nice to have everyone at the same location. A big thanks to Linda for all the help she provided. We had a great time!

This is the second time we have stayed at the "Hideaway". It is a beautiful property. Very private and peaceful. There are 3 bedrooms detached from the main living area -- they provide privacy for everyone. The main living area is extremely comfortable. A decent kitchen, excellent BBQ and a beautiful deck/patio with a heated pool and hot tub. The views from the patio/deck and sunsets were spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

We loved our second stay here! The setup and location of this home is perfect. We had three couples and the separate bedrooms work perfectly and the shared space was great, but our favorite part is the view and outdoor area - it’s such a perfect place to sit and enjoy. We plan on coming back again because we love this place so much!

I recently stayed over New Year's with my husband, son and parents. We really enjoyed the view from the hideaway and family dinners on the lanai. The kitchen was well equipped. Stunning views of New Year's Eve fireworks all along the coast from the 800' elevation. We loved enjoying fresh fruit from the fruit trees and the property manager was very responsive to questions. We would stay at the Hideaway again!

We spent a magical week at the hideaway! It was the perfect spot to get away, relax, enjoy family and feel pampered. The hideaway's accommodations were fantastic, our Nonnie was able to easily and comfortably enjoy watching the early morning fishing boats, local birds at the bird feeder, grandsons swimming, and the sparkling evening lights of Kona. The grounds are spectacular with an abundance of delicious fruits, beautiful flowers and foliage. We enjoyed the beauty and peace around us and hope to return.
The hideaway was so welcoming, it's kitchen is very well appointed, we cooked and enjoyed our breakfasts, lunches dinners with a view from the lanai every day. The rooms very comfortable and there is a well stocked shed with beach toys if you need. Once you arrive you won't want to leave. Mahalo Hideaway, until we see you again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house. It was nice having separate rooms connected by a central courtyard - it certainly does not have a conventional layout and helped to make us feel like we were on vacation.
All the amenities were there and the open layout helped accomodate everyone's different schedules. The fruit trees and gardens were marvelous and there was something magical about being able to eat papaya and limes harvested 5 minutes prior.

The property is really great, huge and isolated just as described. There’s tons of trees and beautiful plants and lush grounds which makes you really feel like you’re in a jungle. This was my families first time on the big island, and we had originally planned on going to Maui and had to change our plans with one weeks notice due to fires in Lahaina. The house has a main room in the front with a kitchen, living room, and dining room with the most amazing view of the sunrise/sunset which leads to the pool. All the other rooms are separate from each other which makes this a nice stay for couples. In our case we had children who enjoyed feeling like they had their own rooms to retreat to. There’s no a/c and lots of bugs, which I’m experienced on every island and all my stays outside of hotels in Hawaii so this wasn’t any different. The kitchen is minimal in supply’s, but it had enough to cook in most meals. You are very close by a few areas you can go on snorkeling adventures with the manta rays at night, etc. About a 20 minute drive to the main town of Kona for all the big tourist stuff. The property host did show up unexpectedly and walk in on my husband while he was in the bedroom which caught him off guard. Other than that, the trip was excellent.

Great place for our family of four. The view cannot be beat and the layout of the house was very fun — everyone had a lot of privacy and space. Well stocked with beach equipment and pool toys. Only a short drive to great snorkeling, good restaurants and lots of shops. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We spent a week at this property in late May of 2023. Two couples and one single traveler. The layout of the house ensures privacy and a common area for all to enjoy. The deck, pool, hot tub and view were all fantastic. The kitchen was well appointed and the living room comfortable and inviting. The pictures do not do this property justice - the grounds are beautiful and the house itself is extremely comfortable. It is in a great location and because of the elevation, a little bit cooler at night. Given the opportunity, we would return in a "heart beat".

The Hideaway was an amazing home that we enjoyed for a month! The outside dinning area, the pool and hot tub were great amenities. The panoramic view was magnificent with spectacular sunsets. There was plenty of room in the bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our family. We can't say enough thanks to Linda and Anthony for their amazing attention to detail and impeccable service for the house and yard. They made our stay so enjoyable. The gardens gave us plenty of delicious fruits and vegetables along with bountiful flowers.
We highly recommend this house as an exceptional "Hideaway" for privacy and seclusion.

Just wonderful. Views for miles, exotic jungle vibe, the pool, the wildlife, it's everything you might need. 3 private bedrooms with baths off the courtyard. Lovely breezes each afternoon. We rarely left the property during our visit.

Spectacular sunsets
We really enjoyed our stay. The frogs at night can be loud so bring some earplugs. The pool was very clean as well as the hot tub and we really enjoyed the sunsets each night. The kitchen has all you will need to prepare meals. Everyone having their own room was a nice convenience as well. I will say the master bed could use an upgrade but again we really enjoyed our stay and it is convenient to the airport and the entire island is very accessible. Thanks again gracious hosts!

Its better than the pictures. The view is great the location is great you feel like your far away but you're still very close to stores if you need something and the main areas to eat and walk around etc.. The only thing i would say is the fridge and draws in the kitchen could've been cleaned better i felt like i had to rewash stuff before i used it but not a deal breaker the cleaners should just clean a bit better. Also i dont know if its only a certain time of the year or something that can happen all year but keep your shades shut in the bedrooms and bathroom we left them open for air but found a million little flys in the room everywhere because they're so small they could still fit through the screen. P.s you definitely want to rent a jeep when visiting kona i knew this from reseaching and you need it for some of these roads everywhere. I would rent this place again if i had a big group again its paradise!!

A Hidden Gem
This property is so beautiful, just like the photos, but even more stunning in person. I loved the compound-like layout. The bedrooms are in two separate buildings and the kitchen/living room/dining room is in a third. They're all connected by a covered walkway. It is single-story, which was perfect for my older parents (no stairs to deal with). The garden is unbelievable. We enjoyed fresh herbs, veggies, and fruits from it and I took so many photos of all the flowers. So happy to have found this gem!

Best Vacation Rental - Views For Days!
We come to Kona at least once a year and this was the best property we’ve stayed in! We had two other couples and the house was set up really well for three couples. We loved the sleeping spaces being separate and away from the main area and the temperatures were great - cool for sleeping and comfortable (warm) during the day. The house had everything - we like to cook and the kitchen was really well appointed. We even took advantage of the gardens using some of the fresh fruit and herbs (which were beautiful and fun to wander around in). The best part was the outdoor area - the view was amazing and we used the outdoor table for most meals. Plus having a pool and hot tub right outside was so nice. And the location - in a quieter areas where you can walk or run (we noticed people drove to the area to walk or run) was so nice. We would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend! Our only suggestion is it would have been nice for the inside dining table to have 6 chairs - I hate to even say anything cause we truly loved our time here and we plan to stay here again!

Beautiful spot, very peaceful and quiet, close to shopping, snorkeling and coffee. The pool is not large and perhaps not ideal for small children as it is not covered / gated. But overall the property is definitely one we would like to return to!

amazing hawaii getaway
I'm always a little iffy about staying in someone else's home and the condition its going to be in, this place, however, was perfect! It was more like a resort than home. I was settled in and comfy in no time. The staff was easy to contact and the directions given were so helpful. I don't think there was a single day that we didn't enjoy the pool. the only concern I had was for the safety of my toddler, who loves the pool too. She knows how to open screen doors and there was no way alerting us when she opened one. she also loved feeding the birds (all different colors and species) every morning. we just had more eyes on her then ever. I loved the location, close to most stores, beaches and restaurants. It was the perfect island getaway!

Perfect Hawaiian Oasis
This home is everything you’d want in a Hawaiian vacation home. Beautiful views, great pool and outdoor areas. Very comfortable bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms in 2 of 3 bedrooms. Convenient to many different parts of the island. We’ll be back!
