Venticinque o venticinque minuti dal centro di St John's, ottimi ristoranti, gallerie d'arte e case colorate. Una grande attrazione qui è l'accesso vicino all'East Coast Trail, a pochi minuti dalla porta di casa.
Appena entri, sai subito di trovarti in un posto speciale. Di fronte a voi vi è la cucina grande ed estremamente ben attrezzata, una camera familiare soleggiata e una sala da pranzo e soggiorno con vista panoramica sull'oceano e sulle scogliere circostanti. Il bagno principale dispone di una cabina doccia, oltre a una vasca da bagno indipendente, perfetta per rilassarsi dopo una lunga giornata di escursioni o visite turistiche. è ben fornito con sapone, shampoo e balsamo e molti asciugamani di buona qualità.
La seconda camera da letto con letto matrimoniale ha anche un eccellente materasso progettato per un sonno confortevole. Ha anche una bellissima vista sull'oceano e sulle colline vicine. Il bagno accanto ha una vasca e doccia ed è anche dotato di shampoo, ecc.
La lavanderia con detersivo in dotazione si trova al secondo piano.
Tornando fuori, vedrai il grande barbecue a propano con un bruciatore laterale. Quando vuoi stare fuori e goderti la bellezza dei tuoi dintorni il più a lungo possibile, fai una bistecca alla griglia e siediti e sorseggia la tua bevanda preferita.
Se ti piacciono i giochi, abbiamo Bocci e croquet. Per il divertimento al coperto, gioca a carte e scrabble.

We couldn’t believe the view and the house were real. It was a sanctuary for our family over Christmas, a place to wind down together after each day of a lot of ‘peopling’.

Originally booked Valentines gift from 2020 that unfortunately in the midst of Covid had to be canceled, yet we were able to re-book what looked and was described as the most amazing spot again for our re-scheduled Nfld trip. As stated by so many, the amazing pictures, are only topped once you arrive and see the beauty of not only Eileen & Glen’s place, but the surroundings and the people. Everything was wonderful, from easy check in, to getting a chance to meet Eileen, to spending the start of each day with coffee on the front porch, and ending it in the same place enjoying the stars, the sound of the waves and the smell of the ocean! Close to St. John’s, East Coast Trail, great places to eat within 1/2 hour, etc. Can’t wait to return and look forward to visiting Eileen & Glenn again. Thank you for having us at your perfect place!!

My family stayed at this property in August 2023. This place was a very comfortable end to our 2-week Newfoundland vacation. The house appears to be quite new, is fully furnished with high-end appliances, good cookware and dishware, comfortable furniture, and very comfortable beds. The house was immaculately clean. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and oils - much more so than most VRBOs.
The views from the front porch over to the cove were beautiful. We enjoyed one of the nearby hiking trails, a part of Newfoundland's East Coast trail, just a few minutes from our door. The house is conveniently located just 30 minutes' drive from downtown St. Johns, has a grocery store 5 minutes' drive away, and is not far from (but not under the flight path of) the airport.
We would happily stay in this house again if we should return to Newfoundland. A real gem!

We had an incredible time at this vacation property. Everything in the ad was accurate. House felt cozy and comfortable and was very clean. It had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were very comfortable. Location was amazing. Even the drinking water tasted great. Highly recommend!!

This was our second time at Dawnview and once again nothing disappointed.
Eileen &Glenn were great hosts (thanks for the delicious cod fillets!) supplying a comfortable, very well-equipped house in a wonderful location with a view that is hard to beat even in Newfoundland.
The house overlooks Flatrock Cove that had waves crashing on the rocks most of the week we were there. We walked portions of two segments of the East Coast Trail without having to drive from the house even with St. John's only 20 minutes away. Super location.
We highly recommend this property and its hosts!

We had a wonderful stay in Flatrock. It is exactly as pictured in the photos. The lovely view won't be forgotten. The entire place was so cozy and comfy with all the little things you need. The one thing I will call out is that the beds were very comfortable and we slept really well, especially with the sound of the ocean to lull us asleep.

We loved our stay here! The property itself was stunning. Very large and spacious house, well kept and clean. Amazing views looking over the water. The yard was huge with lots of green space and a big driveway for parking access. We were sad to leave at the end of our trip.
Eileen (our host) was very accommodating and helpful.

The cottage was even better than the photos, beautiful views, easy access to hiking trail,well appointed kitchen and laundry. Every convenience was provided, Glen and Eileen were very kind and gave helpful suggestions concerning our various interests. Would love to go back!

This VRBO IS FANTASTIC. The views are spectacular from almost every room. We spent a lot of time in the chairs on the decks surrounding the home. The home itself is very comfortable and well equipped. All the bathrooms were well supplied with soap, shampoo and conditioner and good quality towels. There were 6 of us and we also used the casita next to house which was equally supplied. I have no complaints. This Vrbo is a fantastic find! It was spacious, nicely decorated and felt like home. Would stay here again any time!!

This was our third time in Flat Rock with Glenn and Ilene. We have had rental homes in many other places but Glen and Ilene are the best!! They are so considerate and helpful. They are the best!! The house cleanliness and maintenance is super!! We will visit again. We can't say a negative word!!

Perfect spot just out side St Johns not too far but close to all. House was perfect between the amazing view and the just feels so homing here. Couple nice walking paths and the fresh Lobster was so so good. I would definitely come back and stay here again. The little bung house with the 3rd bedroom was pretty kool

Quel beau séjour nous avons passé dans cette superbe maison de Flatrock. Eileen est une hôte formidable qui nous a si bien accueilli dès notre arrivée avec un pot de gelée de confiture.. the house was situated in a beautiful cove.
it has a wrap around deck, which we assumed would b e out if bounds due to weather ( Early October)
but the weather gods were with us and we enjoyed sunny warm days
Indoors was immaculately clean, with lots of extras for guests ...
the kitchen was well equipped, there is a pantry that contained coffee, tea, as well as some breakfast foods etc..
coffee maker met our fussy coffee aficionados standards for sure!
main sitting room looked out over the ocean ... breathtaking views and very comfortable
there was another sitting /TV room with an electric fire ( might have been gas .. we did not need it)
the circular flow from one room to another on the ground floor was so easy for the group of old friends we invited for lunch ( 15 of us in total ... room to spare inside and outside.
The photos o the site do not really prepare me for the size of the rooms .. and the easy flow. .. just beautiful.
Our gracious hosts came to say hello during out lunch ns brought 2 bottles of wine! But would not come in ... my friends were annoyed that I let them leave as we all had so many questions about such a sophisticated property .. they assumed it was my Toronto training to not insist they join the party. I still regret the I did not.
The main bedroom had the same spectacular view as the sitting room and a bathroom with a soaker tub that needed more time to take full advantage of.
all 3 bedrooms were clean and very comfortable.
w all had a great time
quick drive to st johns... 20 minutes and no problem with getting taxis back at night after some fabulous meals down town.
can't wait to get back there

6 of us in my family travelled to Newfoundland most for the first time...the most beautiful clean warm and scenic Oceanview hom3 I have ever stayed in...the owners thought of everything to make our experience enjoyable and unforgettable....will be coming back every year for life.

The location of this property is superb, walking on the hiking trails along the ocean was just what we wanted in our ocean front stay. The only small issue was the fireplace was not working and the host said she would return and fix it but never returned

We would definitely give this house a 10 out 10 rating in every way. The cleanliness, well stocked kitchen and location and view was fantastic! Our only problem was we couldn’t stay longer. Hopefully next time!

Our stay at Flat Rock was the end of a two week stay of a wonderful trip to Newfoundland. The pictures of this property only begin to reflect how fabulous the property is. The house was exceptionally clean on arrival and the vistas out the front window and on the deck were magnificent. Our stay in Flat Rock was beyond expectations. It was also very nice to meet the host. We enjoyed hiking in the area and also were able to venture to the St. John's area with no problem. It was truly a delight to spend time here. Thank you.

Such a magical location! 270 degree view from the veranda overlooking the bay. Perfect hosts Ilene and Glen were so welcoming, accomodating, and helpful throughout our stay.
We had access to the well provisioned herb and vegetable garden.
Where else would you get to experience a retreat that is so wonderful?

I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful home. It feels like you are staying in a private home in the perfect location. It’s the best location, close to town, airport, but also away, high on a hill overlooking the bay at Flatrock. The home is beautifully furnished, has a well stocked pantry, is clean as a whistle, and has a gorgeous sunrise view. It’s the best ever! We two women travelling companions found not just a home base, but a home at Eileen's place. From our hilltop, a panoramic view of the bay and of village life. A quick scenic drive to St. John's. Local points of interest, small capelin coves, easy access to Torbay's bakery and shops. A short drive to Bay Bulls' boat tours of whales and puffins. Yet each day's end, we returned happily to our sanctuary .Hosts are a text message away with any assistance. What a precious experience. Thank you. Merci.

This was magical. You wake up every morning to a direct on view of the Ocean across the street. The house if very comfortable and sitting on the deck watching the local fisherman pull up their traps every morning is poetic Newfoundland. The property is about fifteen minute drive from downtown St. John's. Close to highway #1 for access to the rest of the Avalon Pennisula. The hosts (Eileen & Glen) are most kind and helpful.

The property is exactly as advertised, and a lovely place to stay. We loved it. The view from the house is outstanding, and there is access to the East Coast Trail from there in either direction. Hiking the trail is an amazing experience. The house is in a relatively secluded, and very quiet, area, but it is convenient to St. John's for site seeing and restaurants. We would stay at Eileen and Glenn's place again in a heartbeat. They are great hosts, and very nice people. Highly recommend.

The sunrise is breathtaking and the best part is you do not have to get out of bed to watch. The hosts are absolutely incredible, we received such a hearth warming welcome which made us feel at home immediately. They went out of their way the entire duration of our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. They even took the time to go downtown and get us a lobster box so we could bring lobster back with us. Bravo to them for being the best hosts and making this trip to Newfoundland memorable. I recommend this place hands down. You will not regret.

This rental will be hard to beat. The house is superb and so well located. After a busy day of sightseeing, relaxing on the porch overlooking the ocean was a great way to end the day. The sunrise is breathtaking and the best part is you do not have to get out of bed to watch. The hosts are absolutely incredible, we received such a hearth warming welcome which made us feel at home immediately. They went out of their way the entire duration of our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. They even took the time to go downtown and get us a lobster box so we could bring lobster back with us. Bravo to them for being the best hosts and making this trip to Newfoundland memorable.
