John and Kathy were gracious, generous, and responsive hosts. Their home was perfect for my wife and me as a home base for exploring the Austin area. We were able to walk to downtown, the Barton Creek greenbelt, and the Zilker Botanical Garden. All wonderful walks. The home was as presented online. The kitchen and home was well supplied with everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We will return if ever in Austin again. Thank you John and Kathy!

The house in South Austin is charming and has delights for the eye in every room. The fenced backyard was ideal for our dog and great for relaxing in under the shady trees. The owners are very gracious hosts and provide margarita fixings as well as the ingredients for breakfast tacos which we enjoyed immensely. Great stay!

We had a blast at this amazing house. The house is cozy, comfortable, and feels surprisingly large. The backyard is huge and set up nicely with multiple gatherings spaces. The real benefit of this house is the decor and warmth provided by the owners. They provide fare including margaritas and breakfast tacos, and the decor and book collection make you feel as though you're on an adventure even when you are just chillin' in a nice Austin vibe house. I highly recommend this place and would happily stay hear whenever I come back to Austin.

Our Austin weekend was enriched by the experience from of staying in this great little house. We cooked, read and listened to music to our hearts’ content and had relatives and friends over to eat and play games. Our dogs loved the big backyard. It was a little cold and wet to check out the fire pit, but we enjoyed the indoor fireplace. We’ll be back for sure!

We had a lovely stay, enjoying the comfort & charm of this beautiful home. The art work is interesting, the little lights strung in the garden are pretty, and there are so many cool books I wanted time to read them all. A comfy bed, full kitchen & host provided delicious breakfast & fixings for margaritas! Pretty perfect stay for my daughter’s wedding weekend:)

We are repeat guests as we find this house cozy, comfortable, and close to everything we like to do in Austin. Communication with the owners is easy and the breakfast fixings are a treat.

From the moment we walked in the door we felt so welcomed in this wonderful home. Our hosts provided grocery essentials and drinks and we had a wonderful time cooking in the open kitchen. One of our favorite parts of our stay was looking around at all of the awesome art. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was adorable and clean, and the living spaces were cozy with plenty of movies, music and books to choose from. As Austin locals ourselves we kept saying to each other that this place is just “so Austin” in the absolute best way. The neighborhood is in a great location close to restaurants, shops and Barton Springs/Zilker. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anybody looking for a home to relax and unwind in Austin. Thank you!!

Great place with incredible location, great management and excellent wifi.

We stayed for 2 nights with our dog. We enjoyed the house a great deal. The bed was very comfortable and the location was great. Margaritas and breakfast taco fixings were a thoughtful feature.

We love coming to John’s. The house is well set up, plenty of really good books. They left all sorts of supplies for us. Wonderful breezes in his beautiful and comfortable backyard. House a little warm but the bedrooms had window units for comfortable sleeping. Lots of ceiling fans. Good WiFi connection. Great location by restaurants and Barton Springs, bookstore REI and Whole Foods. This is our second time staying and will be back again and again

Set in a great neighborhood, near Zilker Park and Barton Springs, this home is by tons of great restaurants, hiking trails, and close to downtown. This delightfully funky home was very comfortable for my family of four and the hosts were great.. We hope to return again.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at this unique, art and book-filled home. It is within walking distance to everything Austin has to offer, from restaurants and bars (a great bakery is just a block away) to the Town Lake hike and bike trail, Zilker park, Barton Springs. The home feels both cozy and spacious, with a great flow. Our party of three were just steps from one another at any given time, and yet we each had out own space (the light-filled family room is a fantastic spot to read and chill out). The backyard space feels private, yet open, with lots of beautiful live oak trees for the perfect amount of shade. Plus, we were welcomed to the home with margaritas and enough food for breakfast the next morning (after a very long drive we were immensely grateful not to have to go to the store). Our experience could not have been better!

We really enjoyed our stay. The weather was perfect for using the fire pit and we enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere. The house has a lot of character and charm.

Due to COVID, I hadn’t seen my daughter who lives in Austin in 10 months. This house was perfect! Walking distance to her work (The ABGB) and her home. The large backyard was just what we needed to social distance. The fully equipped kitchen allowed me to cook all of our favorites. When she went home the extensive arts collections kept me totally enthralled! Thank you for the best home! I’ll be back soon!

A great house that makes you feel like staying with someone without them being there. A nice neighborhood and all the amenities. Very relaxing.

We have stayed at a lot of rental properties, but this one stands out for having real character. The music, art, and book collections were amazing. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to locate everything we needed to cook. We also appreciated the very nice welcoming touches. Thank you for allowing us to share your home.

This is a cozy house with alot of charm and personality. Full of interesting things to look at including books, records, artwork and concert posters. There is even a built in happy hour and breakfast service! It is a great location for exploring Austin and a nice neighborhood. We felt safe and happy. Many thanks!

Great place and location

This is our second year to stay here for ACL and happy to report that everything was perfect once again. My daughters and I walk to Zilker each day and love how simple it makes the entire weekend. The pre-stocked margaritas and breakfast food make it all that much better!

Very unique property with several cool hangout spots. Loved the artwork and appreciated the margarita bar and all the extras in the fridge. So nice to have water and some eggs even for breakfast. Great location too. Walked to several cool areas including Zilker Park and Barton Springs. Would love to visit again!

Very nice homeowners and great location to everything! Not only is home very well appointed unlike most HomeAway’s, but the fridge was fully stocked both times we have stayed for guests to enjoy breakfast and margarita makings on the house!
