Of all the Paradors we stayed in this holiday this one was mot a patch on the others, which was a real shame as its location and setting were wonderful. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was dark, drab, dreary and poky amd not all all fitting for a four star hotel.

Firstly, the signage directing visitors to the Parador were sending cars to roads that had been closed off. The GPS systems kept sending us round in circles. After driving in circles for an hour we had to abandon the car and walk to the Parador to seek directions. The evening meal was appalling! I ordered lamb chops with fries and roasted peppers. In all the other paradors the food was presented beautifully, unlike here. The plate conssited of a pile of lamb chops, chops so tiny that you could only get a tiny bite of meat from each one, all the rest was greasy fat. The few chips were piled on another side of the plate and a tine desertspoonful of grilled peppers on another part. I wish I had thought to take a photo of it! My husband ordered potatoes and chorizo and recieved a bowl of what looked like tomato soup with three pieces of chorizo in it. All the food for both dishes had simply been plonked onto the plate and looked unappetising in the extreme. The servers in the restaurant looked bored and fed up and no attempt was made for customer care. The service was poor not a patch on any of the other Paradores we had visited. A man on the table next to us ordered the same lamb chop meal as my own, and his contained the same tiny greasy chops but they were at least presented on the plate in an attractive "mountain: unlike my plate. Just to finish off this visit, we woke up the following morning to discover that there was no hot water at all in the whole Parador!

Beautiful place all together, from the start to finish it was very enjoyable stay. It was one night stay and there was plenty to do and to see. Definitely will be back.

Being located in a delightful historic square shared with the Cathedral the location was delightful. The sympathetic adaptation of this historic building, retaining its character without ruining its charm, was a very satisfying experience. One to be recommended. Having a garage to park and being able to charge was another big tick in the satisfaction box. Other Hotels please note, this is becoming an important draw.
