Location is great for the castle grounds
Very tired, worn out decor and a bit smelly.
No breakfast during the week

Location is perfect. Feel of the outside fits with the castle grounds
Very dated, cobwebs in corners. Noisy from the outside due to open windows as it was very warm. Not worth £240 for the 2 nights. Felt a bit like an intruder every time you pass the reception.

The location was excellent
I asked about parking my car, and was given a notice to place on my dashboard and directed to park in a nearby council carpark, which I did. I had a meeting the next morning, after which I retuned to find a parking ticket on my car. I went back to the hotel to notify them. The person on reception shrugged their shoulders and said it was the bloody council, and she took the ticket from me and said she would sort it. Some weeks later I received a fine for non payment of the ticket (a ticket that the hotel had taken from me). The hotel is refusing to pay the fine. Furious.

The room was fine
The website tells you to park near to the hotel. When you ask for the permit, there isn't one, and you have to drive outside of the town and park outside the castle grounds in an unsecured car park a quarter of amileaway.........not a good look!

The Room was clean, with a modern bathroom.
I would not have booked if facts were shown on website ! No facilities whatsoever, No Restaurant, No Bar, No Cooked Breakfast ! Only breakfast option, help yourself to cereals & toast, make your own tea in a paper cup!

Breakfast was poor. The cooker breakfast was cold, we couldn't find where to go for it and the staff made us feel like an inconvenience.

Lack of staff to get our key. In the end the chef came out to ask if we were okay. We dropped our bags and left for a concert so didn’t realise until we got back at midnight how bad the room was. The window was propped open with a coat hanger. The outlook was appalling with bird excrement everywhere, the shower didn’t work and when we left the hotel was a disgrace from the wedding the night before. We left as soon as we could and will never go back. It was £80 with no breakfast!

Nothing, looked nice from the outside and some lovely pictures that really didn’t tell the truth about the property
Had clean towels but you would want to have showered anyway in a bath that had mild around the edges
there is no manned reception, so couldn’t get it.

it was noisy at the weekend. Public areas need a refurb.

very dated. we were in room at back of hotel all night all we heard was the bollard outside announcing it was going up or down. room was very warm luckily window opened but not quite sure it’s within health and safety regulations as we were on the second floor.
