no room service, no bartenders at the bar, no service at restaurant.

Great breakfast. Courteous staff.

The matress in the bed… was very hard. Not enough staff. The checkin girl was the same person attending to the tables in the courtyard.

Breakfast is fine and always very good

Dinner was not very good, you do not cater for Gluten Free which made it difficult for one of the children, the menu was very basis for the amount you pay.

The building ambience was peaceful & historic. The rooms comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Lots of places to chill out

The indoor pool is in need of minor repairs. Strange odours in the dining room

over crowded pool area with no staff control. Guests leave their towels and belongings on the reclining chairs all day and don’t give other guests the opportunity to use them. Staff or hotel policy can have better management of implementing rules for all guests to have the chance to use the pool area.

it was absolutely gorgeous. it was if we were staying in a museum.

very spread out. it did take us time to get our items to the room after checking in.

No reply to email sent two days before check in requesting the spa schedule and prices. Difficult to find sauna due to bad signalling. The sauna was switched off in spite of previous booking. No shower in sauna room. The water in internal pool is cold. At the first breafast instead of a smile we were welcomed with a disapointed look from the waitress. Defficient refill of buffet. The dishes were wet and not properly cleaned.

needing a bit of maintenance. room smelled of mould in spite of their effort to “burn” it by leaving the air conditioning at 30 degrees. fortunately the good weather allowed us to open the windows. it also seems like they are cutting down on staff, who were great but don’t seem to be enough for the scale of the hotel.

Breakfast was outstanding dinner less so. I ordered lamb and some breaded dry thing was served to me that was not at all tasty. The next night was better. Our room was beautiful including the view. The actual building is a wonderful restoration. I have been before in the spring for lunch.

The reception were not checking vaccine certifications, unlike anywhere i visited on the whole trip. That seemed disrespectful of the staff to allow them to be exposed in such a manner, and of course those of us who were vaccinated and want the assurance that everyone was. We did not get that assurance.

Location is beautiful. Interesting architecture. Bedding is good. Staff is lovely.

Travelled as a family with 4 rooms in total. All were allocated different rooms types, although not an issue, it laid bare the poor upkeep in some rooms. Heating didn’t work at all in one room, making it inhospitable, and completely unacceptable in this class of hotel. Another had a broken blind that was permanently down that we had to fix ourselves. Bar staff was gone at some point, with the reception staff telling us that with the staff gone for dinner no further drinks could be served, while the reception staff couldnt be bothered to serve them herself while she didnt seem to have anything else to do, just unwilling to move. Restaurant is unpleasant for dinner and not up to the Pousada’s standard - the restaurant of each Pousada across the country used to be a culinary reference of each region and a destination in its own right. Not this one, and not anymore it seems. Staff is lovely, they just seem unprepared and generally understaffed.
