Man würde uns telefonisch informieren. Dies geschah nach weit über eine Stunde Wartezeit, in der wir zu weitgehende Untätigkeit verdammt waren. Leider konnte ich den "Chef" nicht persönlich kennenlernen um diesen Vorgang zu besprechen.

Beautiful hotel located right across the Chemnitz Opera House and within walking distance of the train station. The view is unbeatable. It was my second visit to Chemnitz and the second time I stayed in this hotel and I caught some spectacular sunsets, with the opera looking particularly beautiful in the setting sun.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant is very nice.
The bed could have been comfortable, I personally prefer a softer bed.

Of Saxony’s “big three” urban centres, Chemnitz is often overlooked as a potential travel hub. But the city is a wonderful alternative as a base, featuring at least two excellent museums in its own right, and being much closer than Dresden or Leipzig to many of the region’s finest castles (e.g., Burg Kriebstein and Schloß Augustusburg). And if you *are* going to stay in Chemnitz, then this is the hotel I’d recommend. Its proximity to the Hauptbahnhof (just 400m away) makes it easy to catch last-minute trains for regional travel commuting. My room was spacious yet comfortable, carpeted — which is always preferable to hardwood flooring — and offered a stunning view of the Theaterplatz (Chemnitz’s most attractive square by far) through its large windows, which stretched the entire length of the room, letting in a wonderful amount of light. Saxony was experiencing a heat wave when I arrived, but, large windows notwithstanding, the AC cooled the room to a comfortable temperature. What a pleasure it was, for once, to have a real shower (as I did here) rather enduring one of the dreaded shower/bathtub combinations that are the norm in German hotels. From answering my questions about the city to efficiently taking care of my laundry needs, the staff is outstanding — particularly the young female desk clerk who seemed to be at the reception desk at all times, from morning to evening, for all four days of my stay. The hotel even provided slippers and a bathrobe (an especially nice touch). And what’s more, during the entirety of my six-week tour of Germany, this was the only hotel that offered breakfast beginning from 6 a.m., not 6:30 — a wonderfully early start time, which made it possible to take in the hotel’s very good breakfast and still catch an early train for out-of-town sightseeing. Being based here made the four-day Chemnitz leg of my German tour a wonderful experience. I’d recommend this hotel as the obvious top choice to anyone staying in this city.
It’s a challenge to associate any negatives with this hotel, but if I had to do so, I would say that the breakfast area should ensure that regular tea, in teabags, were as obviously available to guests as the current setup, which only features loose-leaf tea. Having no time or desire to grapple with a loose-leaf-tea arrangement when grabbing breakfast, I had to inquire with the staff to be directed to a source of teabags (which turned out to be on a buffet table far removed from the rest of the breakfast offerings). More consequentially, while scrambled eggs are on offer every day, the hotel varies its accompaniments, alternatively offering choices from among bacon, Würstchen, Frikadellen, etc., whereas one would much prefer it if the options were consistent. Also, the exterior of the hotel is not the most aesthetically pleasing, evoking the blocky communist style of the 1950s/60s (which pervades Chemnitz); but given that my room offered a splendid view of the Theaterplatz, in all of its Historicist beauty, I could hardly mind.

Rooms was fine for a famaly, Kitchen and all what You need. Very nice breakfast. Perfect view.
Child bed was wooden with large spaces between sticks. It was bad for childe because its not safe. Much better are travel beds as in most of hotels are. Price is bit high for such service, but I think its due to location.

The room was deluxe; very spacious and had all the amenities of a boutique hotel. Sitting area, desk Large bathroom s(two sinks, separate shower and bathtub) and separate toilet. Very impressive. The view toward the Opera square is fantastic. Breakfast was great as was the restaurant for dinner. Good selection of meats, cheeses, herring, lox, breads and sweets. Staff was friendly and attentive. The lobby, bar and halls very commodious. Also, location in respect to transit great. Good Covid protocols.
Only a slight noise issue, very slight, with the light rail below...but alright if the windows are closed. A very light sleeper might complain.

Friendly, central, clean, great breakfast
That I had to wear plastic gloves to get my breakfast due to coronavirus - though understandable that everyone has their own rules so I'm not complaining!
