no airco, bed too soft and made noise everytime you turn in the bed, an pillows are horrendous. tip, take your own pillow if you can. a lot of street noise.

The hotel is very well situated and the rooms/beds well appointed. Breakfast was really good with a good choice of food.

Parking is not available but I guess that is the problem with most city centre hotels. There is paid parking close by but it was 24 Euros for overnight parking.

The hotel has an exceptionally good location. Easy to find, close to all amenities, and walking distance from most of what one would require on their holiday.

Perhaps, through no fault of their own, communication with staff was very difficult. I understand that I am partly to blame for not knowing the local language, however, in such an accommodation, I would have expected the staff to have a basic knowledge of English. That being said, our main disappointment was with the room itself. Small, uncomfortable, and lacking basic equipment to cool the room down when staying here during the hot Summer days.

- The location (proximity to the train station and the harbour) was a huge plus. - The spread provided for breakfast was quite good.

The non air-conditioned room was not well-ventilated... especially in the midst of a heatwave. The provision of a tower fan was insufficient to keep the whole room cool. It was far, far too warm. Once we stepped out of the WC or from a cold shower, we were warm all over again! Sleep was definitely disturbed and one could not properly rest and relax after a day out in the sun. In terms of toiletries, separate, dedicated hair shampoo (rather than just a combined hair/body shampoo) and hair conditioner as well as facial tissue could be provided to guests for a better touch of service. - Another point of note : we once returned to our room to see all the lights turned on and the TV switched on -- seems someone (housekeeping?) was entertaining themselves in our absence. Front-desk staff did not bat an eyelid when we raised this even though this is clearly not and should not be the norm!

The gentleman cleaning the hallways and preparing the breakfast was welcoming and did a great job with the breakfast. The eggs were great and he took pride in his work which was nice to see. Room was clean and a good size for a twin room with single beds. The breakfast really made our stay feel like luxury.

The checkin machine at the door was confusing. I booked through booking.com so this option wasn’t compatible. Some of the staff looked like they hated their jobs and barely smiled. I tried very hard to get a smile out of the younger 20 somethings and it was almost impossible.

The breakfast was excellent and the room and roof-top balcony were lovely places to eat in. The bed was comfortable.

No complimentary bottle of water. Poor selection in minibar. Lack of cosmetic products in the bathroom.

I booked the hotel because a need to do the check-in between 7 -8 pm (due to my flight + train from Zurich) and here the check-in is until 9 pm. I informed the hotel of my arrival time in advance. When I arrived there was no one in the reception. I was waiting for almost 30 min. I wrote to the hotel in the booking chat, no response. Finally, I called the hotel (international call for me) and they appear. Really disappointed. Other hotels in Konstanz said that the reception time is until 17.00 or 18.00, so I booked it because of that reason. In addition, I arrived late for my business dinner.

The breakfast was standard continental breakfast. The covid regulations were fairly maintained. We got to sit in the indoor balcony area which was lovely since it was a bright and sunny morning. On the otherhand, the tables were small and the space between our table was too narrow and I felt uncomfortable everytime a guest went by my chair for a refill. Besides that, we had a standard option of buns, mini croissants & jams. Unfortunately, the salami section was not fairly distributed with pork and non-pork items. Coffee was lovely and their selection of tea was standard. The funny ending came when I had an interesting conversation about ginger.

The response/accusation and question I got back from my question about ginger/ingwer was at first shocking and then hurtful and at the end plain funny. I would expect a 3 star hotel to be more aware about standard tea ingredients.
