The staff were lovely, but the room was dirty was full of dust the pillows were flat and uncomfortable and the quilt was very old and thin. Its needing a serious upgrade in facilities and decor
The bed needs new pillows and quilt. The room needed a good clean. There were things that had been removed from rooms and left to lie in the corridor still there when I left the next day.

Good value for money, property was clean but a little dated. The breakfast was lovely. Staff friendly. Pool area clean

Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The spa and pool, sauna and steam room were lovely. The food was pretty good.
The hotel was run down. My room has marks on the walls and the wallpaper was shabby, no outlets near the beds. Food was nice but overpriced and both mornings the coffee machine wasn't working so I was unable to get a coffee

The Staff are the only reason we stay at this Hotel. Breakfast served by Lesley and Susan is delightful. Followed by Louise and Sophie on reception.
We have stayed here annual over last 3 or so years. Can see that there is no investment in upgrading rooms. The wallpaper is peeling off walls in bedroom and even in communal areas. It’s an old building and there’s dampness problems. Rooms are not as clean as they should be. Wear and tear is quite significant.

Breakfast room was uncomfortably warm. The staff were stretched causing queue and were distracted.

Staff warm and welcoming, nice grounds. Nice pool and spa.
Breakfast could be better. Dated, in need of refurbishment.

Lovely location. Great spacious room and bathroom. Lovely staff. Food was delicious.
Property looks tired from the outside (main building needs painted and gutters fixed) rooms and bathrooms are dated. Restaurant feels like a dining hall not a proper restaurant.
3.5
Most of the staff were good esp housekeeping and some waitressing staff.
Run down, bathroom and rooms need refurbished and room was dusty but size overall was good and beds were comfy.
Pool areas needs updated

Nice surroundings
Rundown needs refurbed and some staff need trained on friendliness

Nothing.
Cleanliness :
Blood stained towel in room and musky smell in room. Raised it but nothing was done and towel wasn’t replaced either!
Staff:
Failed at all the bare minimum basics you’d expect from a hotel .
Tried to enquire about pool opening times and were met by rolling eyes .
Drama seating us for breakfast as apparently we were a “big table and there was no big tables available” Although confused, I said we were happy to wait but we were told there just wasn’t going to be a table available for us !
She had to get her manager . ( we were a table of 2 adults & 2 children! ) j
Manager came and started snapping at us as he was busy with something but did seat us in the one of the 4 obvious tables that could seat 4. .
Staff were overall inexperienced, extremely rude and unhelpful. Manager was the worst . Really really bad attitude.
Asked for a flat white at breakfast and was told we “ weren’t allowed that “ by this point I had already mentally checked out and couldn’t wait to leave. It beggars belief the place is still open .
Only pleasant person we came across was a girl on reception on our way out .

Breakfast was very good. We stayed 4 nights, the first two breakfasts (Sunday & Monday) were self service buffet style and my only complaint was that the only eggs available were scrambled (no alternatives were offered). However the Breakfasts on Tuesday & Wednesday were served and we had a choice of eggs.
We only ate twice in the evenings at the hotel. The first was a bar meal (the Beefburger) which was tasty. We also had one Dinner: the sirloin steak which was also good but a little expensive, I felt.
The room was good, we had been upgraded to a family room with two King Size beds and included a play pen!
The limited Dinner Menu, too many of the dishes included garlic or peppers which my wife and I prefer not to eat.
The driveway to the hotel definitely needs resurfacing in one or two places and two of the speed humps were particularly vicious!
Some of the Bathroom fittings were coming off the wall, all they needed was to have the wall plugs replaced and the fittings screwed back to the wall.

Didn't have breakfast

Pool was nice and clean.
Rooms very dated and stained celling and mould all over bathroom. Bath panel leaking. Bed not attached. Staff were unhelpful and unprofessional. Had to listen to bar staff telling us how much they hated their jobs. Waited 1 hrs and 45 mins to have starters and main arrive at the same time. Booked dinner bed and breakfast for me and my daughter and when checking out was told it was only for 1 included in price. Staff totally oblivious even after showing booking confirmation. Upgraded to a deluxe room which they tried to put a z bed in under the TV for my 11 year old. Allocated another room which had water bubbles on the celling and black mould in bathroom. Bath panel leaking so had to put 4 towels down when having a shower. Disappointed to say the least.

Friendly & helpful staff, very good breakfast and overall a relaxing and comfortable hotel.
Couldn't get a table for dinner in the restaurant (but meals were available in the Cocktail Bar).

Leisure facilities
Requires updating and staff very just stud around not doing much

Located in stunning grounds great facilities and the staff are lovely
Few areas could be doing with an upgrade but given the times it’s not a problem and it’s clean
3.5
nothing
the staff members where very bias and disrespectful, worst customer service experience ever
3.5
it is very accessible to where I need to be - the grounds - the spa
needs an update - no seating area outside the pool yet large expanse of grass , bit of a shame in good weather !
3.5
had gym
there were crisps on my room floor.
the shower was poor and bath waste didn’t drain properly when showering, so you ended up ankle deep.
girl at reception didn’t even ask how my stay was.
didn’t buy breakfast as extortionate.
room was tired and in need of update.

The setting of the hotel is lovely.
On the whole the staff are totally useless. Staff stand talking behind the bar when there are dirty plates piled up on the tables. The property feels unclean. I sat in the bar looking at the sticky stains on the tub chairs. the whole holes feel old, tired and generally unkept.,
Staff have no idea on dealing with incidents and there appears to be no leadership in the hotel. at about 2.30am the alarm was sounded. Guests evacuated the building to the car park. A fire engine and 6 police vehicles attended. We all stood in the car park for over an hour and a half but no staff approached any guests to check on welfare or to provide any blankets to elderly guests or children. All staff remained in the building. We were eventually allowed to enter the building into a function room. Again no staff approached guests. the only interaction between staff and guests was an officious “manager” who checked on room numbers. No heating was turned on or no blankets offered. One small cart of tea and coffee eventually arrived. After another two hours we were allowed to return to our rooms. At no point we’re we approached by staff, not even a note slid under our door with some small explanation of the event we had been involved in. I asked a staff member in passing what had taken place. She told me that she could not discuss it and I would have to speak to a senior manager.
I really had a genuinely unpleasant stay at this hotel.

nice size room which was clean, staff friendly and facilities were great!
nothing to complain about although it was noisy on the first night with the laundry delivery but that’s not hotel fault
3.5
The room was comfortable. The hotel facilities are good. The food was good.
We had to borrow a power extension as there were no spare square pin sockets to charge our phones.
The bar staff were useless. On the first night they were unable to make my wife a Margarita (even although they had the ingredients) because it was not shown on their iconised till "so they wouldn't know how much to charge for it" On the second night they were unable to make her a Bloody Mary because "they didn't have the ingredients" - No tomato juice in a so-called 4 star hotel ?

Bed was amazingly comfy!
Didn't seem to be enough staff on the bar during a wedding, or at breakfast. It took 20 minutes and further asking to get the tea and toast that we ordered when we arrived and vegetarian sausages never arrived after being requested. It's a shame that the few staff that were buzzing around didn't seem to acknowledge waiting guests
3.5
Really spacious suite with great facilities. Plenty of room for leisure within bars and communal areas. Staff made me feel welcome. Exceptionally pet (dog) friendly with enough space for pets not to interfere with other guests. Nice breakfast and evening meal. Couldn't have been better. I stayed in many nice hotels over a three week period in Scotland and Northern England. This was by far the best and it wasn't the most expensive either. Full marks. The staff were great.
Everything was spot on. Couldn't fault anything.
