Location and parking

We stayed one night on a tour of Ireland. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Waterford and there is more than adequate parking. It is a fairly attractive building with a large comfortable reception area. The reception process was very quick and efficient. Somehow, we ended up with a family room - quite quirky as there was a double and three single beds, therefore we had acres of space. It was a standing joke that a walk to the window in the morning to open the curtains would require 10 minutes there and back. Nevertheless, the room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed with a coffee pod machine - always a good sign. Breakfast in the restaurant was a comfortable experience, it was quite quiet during our stay and although the range of buffet food available was slightly limited, there was an option for freshly cooked items. Having a huge range of food available for breakfast is not always a good idea as there is a temptation to overeat.

We had dinner in the Brass Cock restaurant, billed as a rustic Irish pub. We thought that the menu was rather limited, a typical pub menu and the food was indifferent quality. The service wasn't bad, but we felt sorry for the waitress when we told her that the beef burgers were not too well cooked. They did their best to correct this, it spoilt our enjoyment a little. Billed as a rustic Irish pub, we had dinner in the Brass Cock restaurant. We thought that the menu was rather limited, a typical pub menu and the food was indifferent quality. The service wasn't bad, but we felt sorry for the waitress when we told her that the beef burgers were not too well cooked - they were slightly blackened with a slightly red inside, almost like a typical barbecue item. We did suggest that perhaps they had been cooked from frozen, but the management denied this. They did their best to correct this; however, it spoilt our enjoyment a little. We felt that there was a dark slightly oppressive atmosphere - no windows and too many alcoves.

Außerordentlich tolles, freundliches und sehr bemühtes Personal- sowohl im Empfangsbereich als auch an der Bar! Zimmer groß und geräumig. Die Lage ist sicherlich etwas abseits, jedoch durchaus nett und ruhig gelegen. Man kann in wenigen Minuten am Fluss spazieren gehen. Großer Parkplatz und prima Anbindung an die Innenstadt.

Keine wesentlichen Nachteile!

Place was clean. Staff were lovely.

No water of any type in the room. No indication of to how drinkable tap water was. Even a jug of water or a dispenser on the floor would be nice.

Everythibg. Huge, comfortable family room. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Food was lovely.

There wasn't anything not to like. Everything was perfect.

The hotel was clean, comfortable beds & room was spacious. The leisure centre was brilliant. Food was delicious & lots of options.
