Toberua is a truly special island, from the moment you step on there’s a very special energy and you feel yourself relaxing already. We went for my 30th birthday (and a surprise proposal) and the staff went above and beyond to help my fiancé organise a birthday surprise and a very romantic proposal during a private dining experience on the pier. Pip and Nick were very accomodating and great to chat to. Big shout out to Merri at the office that helped us with our every need. All the staff were amazing and so warm and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed all the day activities, in particular Picnic Island and the visit to the local school. Our Bure was so comfortable and special and we loved our lazy afternoons lying in our hammock with the best view in the world.
We loved everything! We thoroughly enjoyed the reef golf and would love to see it have a bit of a spruce up, like some flag poles on the golf holes.

Food was a little hit and miss. But mostly quite good.

The hospitality of the stuff is unbeatable. Island is very nice. Our bure was great with access to the beach. Kids loved it, and we did too.
There is nothing I can think of.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, so delightful and so helpful. The meals were varied and delicious. The location- it’s intimate and feels like a real getaway. It’s the perfect balance of feeling away from it all without feeling isolated. The trip to a local village is also not to be missed!

The island is small and very prestigious. The facilities were comfortable and clean.
The final BBQ was a lovely meal change and especially tasty.
Outstanding was the Fijian staff. There is no question that the staff created an amazing atmosphere 👏.
We are extremely thankful to all the people who connect with us, shared their culture, and their wisdom.
We would like to say that this feedback is given to positively assist the resort to improve and to understand what guests can experience differently.
We have travelled to other places prior to our stay in Toberua.
We certainly noticed differences in the variety and flexibility regarding the meal plans.
Some places offer an afternoon tea area with home baked cakes and fresh fruit, juice, and the usual coffee and tea. It might be a thought to build this into the meal plan cost.
We missed the sound of music 🎶 around the community/ bar area. Not loud music - just local background music.
Whilst the resort offers great activities, not many are included. It just means everything is an additional cost.
Is it really necessary to charge extra for water and drinks when out on a trip snorkelling? It might be a thought to include the drinks in the total of the day price.
We believe the resort would truly benefit from anonymous and targeted customer surveys to help them improve their compatibility.
However, we had a wonderful time and are grateful for the kindness and care provided during our stay.

The staff were absolutely outstanding, always going above and beyond to ensure our honeymoon was as special as possible. Food was perfection, always fresh, tasty and a feast for the eyes. The island was bliss, incredibly relaxing, beautiful and tropical. There were so many activities on offer to choose from, we tried them all! The weather the week before (and even on the forecast when we were there) looked like constant storms, however we had so much sunshine! It felt like we were on our own private island away from all the trouble and worries of our daily life. On our last day, we were serenaded by the staff who are phenomenal singers. Couldn't recommend more for anyone that is looking for pure relaxation and isolation!
We were initially in a bure that was attached to another one. There was a family with kids that were quite loud and made it difficult to relax. However, the staff quickly and professionally moved us to another one that was standalone (we did have to pay more as it was a detached bure, which was totally fine by us) and things became much quieter! Additionally, I wish they provided sunscreen. We ran out and it cost FJ$30 to replace.

Really friendly staff and team creating a lovely family environment with all the guests!
The food was incredible - huge thank you to the Chef!
Nil. A bit of a mix up with pick up from the airport but all resolved in the end!

The hospitality, atmosphere, and the great good..day trip to picnic island was fantastic..the staff were beyond fantastic in the way they took care of us during the stay..the location had such a nice atmosphere that we felt we were in paradise..
There could have been more options for breakfast as the menu was the same every day..we don't quite have the azure aqua marine waters around the island (especially at low tide), however we can easily find such locations during day trips to nearby islands..

Breakfast - better than average hotel, but not gourmet. Plenty of variety. Eggs were done well.
Meals felt a little bit expensive, especially breakfast and lunch - but it's a secluded island resort, so what do you expect.

This resort was just right for me and my three children (ages 10-14) for a week-long, relaxing vacation on our first trip to Fiji. My kids loved it. It has a much more intimate and authentic feel than larger, newer, packaged resorts where I have stayed in other tropical destinations. The food was a highlight, nothing short of exceptional, with three delicious, beautifully presented, gourmet options at every meal: meat, pescatarian and vegetarian as well as a range of choices on the kids' menu. In other words, something for everyone. Everything is made fresh on the premises daily, including bread and desserts. The Fijian staff are genuine, warm and welcoming. Their care and creativity are everywhere evident: from the decoratively folded cloth napkins and ubiquitous flower arrangements to the excellent vocals and acoustic guitar and ukulele music at meals. The resort is family-friendly but also well-suited to couples and people of all ages. Our deluxe oceanfront bure (bure #14) was commodious with many well-designed, solid features, such as large, sliding glass panel doors and shutters that open to the ocean-facing, covered porch and a gated entrance from the porch to a walled courtyard connected to the bathroom shower area, perfect for returning from the beach. The resort offers a good array of excursions. The highlight for us was scuba instruction and ocean dives. My daughter was able to get her PADI Open Water Diver certification in just a few days very reasonably. There are great nearby reefs for snorkeling and scuba. Finally, the resort is a model of sustainability, running on a solar panel + battery storage microgrid with new, electric water heaters in each bure. Wherever possible, the resort eliminates single-use plastics, e.g., by using reusable metal straws for bar drinks and refillable dispensers for shower products.
The resort facilities are well-maintained but have a slightly worn, well-loved feel. There is clearly a lot of history. While it was perfect for us, Toberua Island does not have the pristine vibe of some newer resorts. The small island is surrounded by a shallow reef with tidepools, so you do not get the sparkling blue, clear water over white sand that you see in some Fiji travel photos. We did experience that sort of water on a day trip to picnic island. We were glad our bure was on the leeward side of the island, shielded from the wind. The windward side of the island might have been uncomfortable during windy conditions. We enjoyed seeing the fruit bats that nest in the trees and otherwise did not encounter any wildlife on the island. Though we were prepared to encounter them based on other comments, we saw only a single banded sea krait once while kayaking. I recommend bringing snacks for kids between set mealtimes and also flashlights for walking along the beach at night. (The inside paths are illuminated.) Internet bandwidth/speed is limited. Plan to unplug.

Gorgeous island, nice dinner food and location where food is served, very nice and attentive staff, super clean, the huts are amazing as well as the hammocks outside, fauna and flora on the island are incredible. Free pool, table tennis and darts as well as kayak and paddle board. Quiet and private dream island like on magazine photos.
Only one thing but very important. When booking additional costs weren't mentioned but were added afterwards like $240 pp to get on the island (would have expected it to be included as there is no other way to get there). Also the mandatory half or full board which are quiet expensive considering we are in Fiji. $140 pp, per day for half board only. Dinner is great but breakfast is lacking savoury options (no savoury options on buffet, only limited a la carte) and missing sweet toppings such as honey, chocolate paste or maple syrup. No real Options to go cheaper on food and beverages are also close to Australian prices. Shop is quiet small and over priced, about 5 times the prices on the main island. Activities on island are also much more expensive than on the main island and you do feel a bit of pressure to consume so we felt a bit left out in the end. When asked if we could get the taxi drive us to Suva city instead of the airport we were told it would be an extra $60 on top of the 240$ we already paid while we had been informed by locals on the mainland that the trip would cost only $30 on the tourist price from the airport. We loved the place but we often fell like we were charged double prices on everything and considered as money bags which kind of ruined the stay partially. At the end of our stay we nearly paid double the amount on extra unplanned costs on top of our original booking.com booking and we paid close to 2000AUD there pp for 6 days barely consuming anything more than what was mandatory. We wanted to end our trip on a highlight spending extra when booking the place but we didn't expect it to have such additional costs which really hurt. I would recommend more transparency and more low costs options for in the future.

A week on this paradise island flew past far too quickly and we were very sad to leave.
The best parts:
1. Incredibly warm, welcoming and attentive staff that made us feel like we were a part of their family.
2. The food! Who would have thought that one could find healthy gluten-free beautifully presented gourmet food on a remote island! We loved every morsel and particularly treasured the fresh fish.
3. The efficiency. All communications, transport and meal service were friendly and efficient. We did not understand the concept of Fiji time until we left this resort!
4. The massage. What a nice surprise to find such an experienced massage lady in a small place like this! She really knew what she was doing.
5. The music. Thank you for all the songs, it was very special to get to listen to the in-house musicians twice a day, every day.
The bats living in a tree next to our bure woke up early and were loud! I will bring ear plugs next time.

This place is magical! Incredible food, staff and views. Activities were great as well.
Paying for a bottle of water during a picnic lunch. Beer I understand but water? Also, desperately need new massage tables. Head rests were painful. These are minor nits though, overall amazing.

Beautiful island, wonderful staff.
No snacks or mini bar in our room except tea and milk. No bar snacks and dinner not until 7.30pm so a long time to wait and drink.
