We stayed in a room in the castle walls, but not really in the older part of the castle, but the room was perfect. We had access to the castle that regular tourists would not have had. The room was modern and updated with air. The restaurant was fantastic. The hotel staff was outstanding. I highly recommend this pousda castle and will definitely return! Due to a festival and limited cars allowed into the medieval, we parked in Arcus Pastry and walked the mile up to the castle. The hotel did offer rides to the hotel, but we were unaware. We did take advantage of the ride from hotel back to the lot after our stay.
Would have liked to have seen an actual castle room, but we stayed technically in the castle.

Location, charm, good restaurant
* Noise from restaurant upstairs (walking on floor) late evening and early morning.
* We were two couples and booked same room type, but one room had no window (this should be mentioned while booking) and its card gave no access to the castle living room.

We came to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Dinner...we had the best seat in restaurant. Food was amazing and so was breakfast. Service outstanding.

The view and setting was stunning. Exclusive breakfast for hotel guests, away from the busy tourists, was an appreciated touch. Facilities were wonderful. Guilhermes was the best staff member with 5 star service.
Unfortunately our stay landed during an unexpected closure of the castle by the city that caused parking to be difficult. That did not affect much of our stay, but the staff did not handle communication of where and how to get to the hotel well. Everything was wonderful once we arrived.

we celebrated a birthday here and our stay was exceptional. it was clean and comfortable. staff made us feel welcome. a nice young gentleman arranged a dinner reservation for us in the castle. we had an excellent meal with a view out the castle window. dinner staff was exceptional. we really enjoyed our stay.

Our room was large and comfortable, bathroom rather small. Breakfast buffet was lovely, tasty with a nice assortment of foods. Obidos was such a delightful experience. Be prepared to walk a lot on uneven streets, and parking and driving is a challenge. But so worth it! Be sure to walk along the walls for incredible views!

Phillip and Pietro in reception were welcoming and very helpful. The room was comfortable and the complimentary ginger liqueur and chocolate cup,, a specialty of Obidos, were fun to experience. Great to have hair conditioner which many places in Portugal don't have. We were traveling with a friend and were happy to be able to order room service which we ate in the courtyard outside her room. Great breakfast. My husband appreciated the selection of sausages while I loved the fresh fruit.
The pillows were all too hard and large. Wish there had been at least one small, soft pillow which would have been better for my neck

The overall feel of staying in the pousada castle was fantastic. The decor beautiful and views from various vantage points incredible. Our suite was very spacious and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the breakfasts outstanding. It did not disappoint.

Everything. The views were spectacular. The room had character. The staff was lovely (especially the restaurant team). And the dinner was magical. We only stayed one night and wished we could have stayed for more.
the only thing we had a slight problem with was finding the parking that was closest to the hotel. we found it eventually, but only on pure luck.

its uniqueness and its location
the online photos of the suite were not the photos of our suite, so it was a shock to arrive and find we’d paid for something far less chic. still, it was an experience to stay in a medieval castle, but it also smelled like it was from medieval ages.

Amazing stay at the castle!! I felt like a queen! Linens were the best! Room was large and comfortable
parking is outside the wall so pack light as you need to walk a way over cobbled streets with your luggage

We stayed in January it was cold outside but the heating was wonderful. Staff in restaurant were very helpful and set up the table we asked for. Absolutely loved our stay.

it’s uniqueness
very difficult to access as roads closed off due to repairs and Christmas/NY festivities. it is essential to phone the hotel and ask for help . they sent a white van for us tg as my husband would not have been able for the climb.

We really enjoyed our stay at the castle. Everything is perfect. Breakfast is very good and we sat by the window with the castle view. For me, the twin room in the castle is not small as wrote by other reviews. This fulfilled our expectation.
