Friendly staff Debi made you feel at home form the start. Bed was super comfy (best ive had in a hostel). Tv in room was a plus too! Also very clean.

Brace yourselves for the nightmare of your life: staying at the YHA Lincoln, the mad hostel starred by Debora and Robert and the enslaved residents who try to stay away from the disguised and subtle racism comments, body weight/appearance remarks, constant stalking, and intrusive questions. Debora seems quite interested in knowing each resident's nationality, and asking that question multiple times. Pretty sure she has a mental journal where she writes and studies all nationalities and their negative aspects. She makes a clear point against asians (saying they stink), and indians (saying they are messy, loud and stink). This stay is truly worthy of a dark comedy show based on real facts. Main character: Debora, a multiple faced character that on one hand is really nice, kind and helpful and on the other side she speaks ill about everyone, including you, making derogatory comments and constantly keeping tabs on where you are going, how you are dressed, what is your nationality, and more! Debora is also a full time complainer and whinger: "oh, I am in my sixties, I work too much, I am doing too much, this is a lot". I believe Debora is also a bit on the cheap side (mixed with paranoia) and does not want to hire an employee and give herself and her husband their much needed rest. Debora is also a magnificent gossiper that wants to know personal information about your life, and chats about the life of the people in the hostel (negatively of course). Not only does she speak ill about all of us behind each others back, but she also gossips about her sister, claiming she is an alcoholic and a gambler. Debora, I did not need that information regarding your sister. The atmosphere is very much like walking on eggshells; very tense with a combination of boredom, constant nagging, scary stalking and subtle racism. Debora walks into the room knocking for no reason, moving around personal belongings, making annoying comments and crossing boundaries.

YHA is located close to the foreshore, food shops and attractions. It is exceptionally clean and organised. I stayed in a private room with an ensuite and it was perfect for my stay. I was travelling solo and as a female I felt safe the entire stay. There is a key card entrance to the hostel and to the rooms. The beds are comfy and the shower is hot and good pressure. The kitchen is industrial and has everything that you need to cook meals. There is a bar, lounge area and also an outdoor deck area with cooking facilities and table tennis. Deb and Robert were great and helped me with what to see, where to go and answered all questions. Their hostel is a great stay at a great price. Thank you!

The room was super comfy and immaculately clean. Shower pressure was great and it was lovely and hot. The shared kitchen had everything you could possibly imagine - even the knives were sharp! It was also sparkling clean and spacious. There were also a bunch of other amenities that we didn't even use, eg TV & movie rooms, table tennis. Debi and Robert were wonderful hosts. Did I mention it was next to a brewery?!
